There’s really no reason for the press to suggest that the recent slew of scandals involving the Obama administration — Benghazi, the AP phone-record seizure, the snooping in James Rosen’s e-mail, the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups, and so on — are a confusing jumble. There is a very clear thread running through all of the administration’s actions: The U.S. deputy chief of mission in Libya, Gregory Hicks, says that he was told not to speak to a member of Congress about Benghazi without a State Department lawyer present, that he received a phone call from Hillary Clinton’s
Barry Soetoro slithered onto the scene with a past that is undocumentated and shrouded in suspicion. He expected America to accept him at face value for the highest position in government. Half of the American people were stupid enough to do just that.
When I was a child I started to notice certain children in my circle (and their families)would go to great lengths to hide common, everyday information. When we became adults I would often find out the family was extremely dis-functional. Obama´s biography screams of the same thing. Why would we think that a man that was discarded by his parents and who, in his later life, always chose evil people as mentors/associates, would run a government that was anything else but bad?
Control is the objective of all tyrannies, and as we have seen with the Obamanation its not just information control. Gun control is people control. Obamacare is people control. Amnesty is people control. The EPA implementing Agenda 21 is people control.
It will be intersting to see how the media sifts out and which among them still have some functioning brain cells and modicum of patriotism or even self-respect.
The best way to thwart control is to not to recognize its legitamacy. Its what the Left did in the 60s and 70s with, "Question authority" and "Sounds like a personal problem." We should revive these golden oldies and throw them back at the marxists. IHLG
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” ~ Joseph Goebbels
Impeachment will not lead to conviction until we have the current Senate. Then again it will bring on Joe Biden. Additionally it will provide a distraction to the Regime and the MSM to divert attention from all the pressing problems. The task here is to skillfully keep the pot on these misdeeds and outrages boiling all the way to November 2014. Then, if the Republicans blow it again, go home and raise chickens!
Congress will simply not impeach the first black president. However, any legal punishment given to zippy should also include Biden. Anyone really think that he wasn´t involved in all of this, especially the IRS scandal - it was also about stealing the election for him too.
Makes perfect sense. Fauxbama is all words. He´s made of words, contradictory words very often. He eschews the world of leadership and action; it´s all words, all the time. He´s essentially an untenured, unpublished law school lecturer. He has done nothing in his life except talk about his life and tout his life. There is, literally, no there, there (except of course for the words, which are often contradictory).
Good for Geraghty. Good for any able bodied journalist who is not just observing wreckage, or being "chilled", but is connecting the dots, and describing unconstitutional acts. Because the Media must lay the foundation before it call´s for impeachment on behalf of the People." We are at the "Depraving of the American Mind" stage, meaning truth and virtue is becoming imponderable and to be sneered at. Moderate writers, comfortable with reducing the coup to hard ball politics, so that any predictable cries for accountability and impeachment becomes nothing more than a political calculation, are the majoity now. They are too smart by half delaying a call for impeachment until some "right time." If depravity increases (consider McCain´s demented mind], there will be no "right time". Outrages will be more severe, they will have direction from the top, and they will be leaed to drug you. The Media is all we have to make sense of this. These coordinated outrages need to be explained to the people as a breach of trust, for which consequences are required in order to preserve America. Good for Geraghty.
Allow me to explain the following sentance. "All of these actions involve an effort to control information."
This is a deliberate, and succesful attempt to intimidate the opposition and hide the truth from "WE THE PEOPLE" in order to achieve re-election, solidify power and cement Obama´s agenda. This was and continues to be a deliberate attempt to subvert the electoral process, the constitution, the rule of law, and the Republic.
No president has ever attempted what this so called president is currently doing. And we have the press to thank. For over five years, the press intentionally withheld the truth from the people. They were and continue to be willing participants in the destruction of the Republic.
It is not that: "I told you so!" moment, BUT - for several years I was harping that Lenin and Hitler knew that first steps to win (most important ones): control of the media and control of the banks. Repubics didn´t listen! Of course our American Pravda and Voelkischer Beobachter are the obedient loudspeakers for the leftist administration. But even if some of the members of the media are the members of American Politburo, they are just yapping mutts for the leftist cabal.
One of the reasons to control the information that reaches the people is that it allows Obama to put his own story in place. Witness the stories about his childhood, which are at variance with what is known to be true.
29 Sorry that you think the liberation of Iraq was a scandal, especially since it was a Democrat, Clinton, who signed the Iraq Liberation Act in 1998. Besides, Congress already authorized the use of military force in the bipartisan Iraq War Resolution in 2002, so anything else said about Iraq after that was moot. You should really peddle your lies in an echo chamber or in a forum of fools who would believe your lies.
Some parts of this administration focus on preventing information that is contrary to the administration’s agenda from getting out, or hindering its distribution, and making sure that the only information that goes out supports the perspective of the administration. Other parts leak confidential information designed to attack the reputations of those holding perspectives the administration opposes (NOM, the nine conservative groups) or other whistleblowers (ATF agent Dodson). Wow Jim, you are coming real close to hitting that Howie Kurtz Firm-Grasp-of-th-Obvious extravaganza sleuthiness. There´s a place at the Weekly Standard for you.
This is all Kabuki. All fourteen-month-distant -from-election-stylized play.No one will remember any of this. Just as certain questins were planted to come out now on the IRS,so too wre the other ones "released early. this is Alinsky rules. to wit makethe middle calss nervous by creating uproar and divisiveness. Use middle class values against the middle-class. Don´t buy any of it! The Obamanites are busy stealing the 2014 election in the House.
The sequester, no matter how imperfect a policy, is arguably the only victory for fiscal conservatives in a very long time. Their victory is also president Obama’s biggest defeat (outside of the self-inflicted disastrous Obamacare rollout). It is also another opportunity to remind the American people that the alarmist predictions that we were all subjected to about the devastating impact sequestration would have on our economy didn’t materialize. Yet, in a new move, Republicans are once again considering caving to Democrats and getting rid of the spending cuts. This morning’s Wall Street Journal has the following. Still, officials close to
President Obama’s repeated use of presidential powers is causing a tough problem — his own supporters now expect him to use it to achieve everything they want. From immigration to the minimum wage, congressional Democrats and liberal activists this week urged Mr. Obama to declare an end run around Capitol Hill, assert executive authority and make as much progress as he can on the expansive agenda he laid out for his second term. A day after Mr. Obama denounced income inequality, progressive lawmakers said he should take the lead by issuing an executive order requiring all federal contractors to pay
Three crises, one president, many bewildered friends. The first crisis, barely noticed here, is Ukraine’s sudden turn away from Europe and back to the Russian embrace. After years of negotiations for a major trading agreement with the European Union, Ukraine succumbed to characteristically blunt and brutal economic threats from Russia and abruptly walked away. Ukraine is instead considering joining the Moscow-centered Customs Union with Russia’s fellow dictatorships Belarus and Kazakhstan. This is no trivial matter. Ukraine is not just the largest European country, it’s the linchpin for Vladimir Putin’s dream of a renewed imperial Russia, hegemonic in its neighborhood and
Entering his sophomore year at Occidental College, Barack Obama sought a political movement to match his personal awakening, which he signaled to friends and family at the time by reclaiming his African first name. Barry became Barack that year. He had read Du Bois, Fanon, Malcolm X — an array of authors writing about the black struggle for liberation in his country and in others shaking off the legacy of colonial rule around the world. That is where he looked for — and found — a figure and a cause to channel his rising political enthusiasm: Nelson Mandela, then imprisoned
I´m generally for more disclosure in campaign finance, but the best argument against requiring full disclosure by groups engaged in political speech is that politicians sometimes retaliate against their critics. Sen. Elizabeth Warren inadvertently made that very argument this week. As told by Ben White at Politico, a group called "Third Way" criticized Warren. Warren apparently suspected that Third Way´s criticism of her was funded by banks. So she wrote a letter to bank CEOs demanding they disclose which political groups they´re funding. Warren sits on the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. She´s basically telling the entities
A stunning new study unveiled on Fox News´ Hannity finds that President Barack Obama’s White House calendar records just one face-to-face meeting between Obama and his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the more than three-and-a-half years leading up to the disastrous Obamacare launch. The startling statistic comes from a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) analysis of Obama’s own official White House calendar, as well as the Politico presidential calendar, and raises new questions about Obama’s executive leadership and management throughout the implementation of his singular legislative achievement. More alarming still, the president’s schedule lists 277 private
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
More young men in California rise in pitch at the end of their sentences when talking, new research shows. This process is known as "uptalk" or "valleygirl speak" and has in the past been associated with young females, typically from California or Australia. But now a team says that this way of speaking is becoming more frequent among men.The findings were presented at the Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in California. "We found use of uptalk in all of our speakers, despite their diverse backgrounds in socioeconomic status, ethnicity, bilingualism and gender," said Amanda Ritchart, a linguist at the University of
DAVID CORN: I saw a president who remains frustrated with the political-media culture that he has to work within, and that he´s looking to rally people, students here, and supporters, and people within the media. CHRIS MATTHEWS: But David Corn, you skeptic. He came to us today. He came amongst us. CORN: He´s trying to rally people behind this vision that he´s been promoting for a couple years. FINEMAN: By the way, he did it the end here, today, Chris, not by defending specifics, but by explaining why he´s in the game to begin with. And I don´t know about you, he´s
The most curious thing of all about the November jobs report released on Friday was the huge drop in the unemployment rate — and the fact that the Labor Department chose not to disclose that the data going into that figure are under investigation for falsification. On Nov. 19, I broke the news in my column that the Census Bureau, which collects data that goes into the jobless rate on behalf of Labor, had caught one of its enumerators fabricating interviews in 2010. The culprit said back then (and to me during an interview) that he was told to do so by
Denver - A baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex ceremony must serve gay couples despite his religious beliefs or face fines, a judge said Friday. The order from administrative law judge Robert N. Spencer said Masterpiece Cakeshop in suburban Denver discriminated against a couple "because of their sexual orientation by refusing to sell them a wedding cake for their same-sex marriage." The order says the cake-maker must "cease and desist from discriminating" against gay couples. Although the judge did not impose fines in this case, the business will face penalties if it continues to turn away gay

Former President Bill Clinton shared an anecdote regarding Nelson Mandela and the aftermath of his impeachment Friday on CNN. Clinton revealed shortly after the “impeachment business” finished on Capitol Hill, Rep. Henry Hyde (R., Ill.) who managed the impeachment trial requested a meeting at the White House. The former president granted the meeting out of lessons of humility and forgiveness he learned from Mandela, he said: BILL CLINTON: I remember one day, oh, about a month after the whole impeachment business was over, Henry Hyde, who had run the whole show, unbelievably enough, maybe a few months after, it was
One definition of a pathological liar is someone who lies where the truth would serve just as well. When President Obama’s uncle, Onyango Obama, was arrested in 2011 for drunk driving, the truth — that Obama had stayed with his uncle years earlier for several weeks as a Harvard law student — would have served the president just fine. No potential Obama voter would have held it against him that an uncle he had stayed with two decades earlier was picked up for DUI. Yet the White House went with a lie, claiming that Obama had never met his uncle. Now that
