Jerry Brown excuses government
incompetence: ´Sh*t happens´

A massive screw-up by the state of California is being brushed off by Governor Jerry Brown with a barnyard expression: "Sh*t happens." The new eastern span of the Bay Bridge, a multi-billion dollar endeavor, turns out to have used faulty bolts to fasten the bridge to its pier. "A third out of 96 threaded steel rods -- 3 inches thick and 9 to 24 feet long -- snapped in early March after crews tightened them down with nuts."

That arrogant baldheaded beesturd says that "the people (read ignorant fools)" believe that the bridge is safe and that "the people" understand that there always will be screw ups in any larger construction project. The bloody nerve of the old fart! I´m not driving on that thing!

Jerry that expression sums up your re-election to an office you´re unfit for. I´d feel much safer driving over the Benecia style bridge than Brown´s idea of an innovative bridge.

The Brown(sie)Twins, Jerry & Willie, Mayors of Oakland and SF at the time, decided to stick their collective noses in the bridge design, thus setting the project back about 10 years an adding billions of unnecessary tax dollars to the project. The result? A compromised structure.

The original bridge construction, which started in 1933 and finished in 1936, cost approx 77 million dollars. The current construction, which has been ongoing since 1990, is thought to be in the neighborhood of 12 billion. It is the most costly taxpayer construction project in U.S history.

Govn at its finest. It was all about union jobs. By the time this projection is completed, if ever, a single construction worker who started at the beginning will spend his entire working career on this one project alone. If the original construction crew were around today with the rules and regulations in place back in the `30s, they could have built this same bridge 7 times over for around 600 million dollars.

What even more pathetic is this new addition was never necessary in the first place. All that was needed was to brace up the length of the bridge. That could have been completed 15 years ago, but no, union jobs and democrat votes were more important.

Well, you´ve got to admit that the Democrats know how to spend money - especially other people´s money. Not - you know, effectively - but they do know how to spend it.

Typical Liberal attitude. **** happens indeed. What about the lives that would´ve been lost if that bridge failed???

And that is the same prevailing attitude throughout the party--brown being a suitable color for them-- with Bengazi; with the stolen election with multiple and erased votes; with the Boston bombers and lazy upkeep of student visa records and much, much more ineptness. To quote Hillary, "What difference, at this point, does it make??" The result is a panting push to increase taxes, create do-nothing committees, in order to hoard more of our money for their own greedy selves. Nothing to see here, folks, we´ll just throw another bazillion dollars at it; it´ll be just fine and we still will be accountable to no one. Liars most vile, all of them.

Harry Reid’s jihad against the Koch Brothers has already yielded a hilarious video compilation of his 134 mentions of their name. But now with new information, his Koch addiction can become a potent tool in the hands of Republicans. Call it karma, if you like, but the former boxer now leading the Senate majority has left himself wide open. It turns out that Koch Industries employees and PACs have donated to quite a large number of Congressional Democrats.(snip) The ads practically write themselves: Mary Landrieu’s Majority Leader says the Koch Brothers are un-American. The internal contradictions of the progressive alliance that dominates San Francisco have erupted into violence, and there is every sign it will continue. Conservatives have an opportunity if we are clever. (snip)I had not set foot on Hayes Street for at least a couple of decades when I went there last week. I was utterly shocked by the transformation, and more than that, by the hostility of some of the people I was with toward the newcomers. Alas, another reporter asked me the same question I have been repeatedly asked for the past five years. “As an African-American, why are you a member of the Tea Party?” It dawned on me to ask the reporter, “If you are a thinking patriotic American, why are you not a member of the Tea Party?” It is stunning that reporters cannot see the absurdity and racism against white voters in their assumption that Tea Party membership (pushback against Obama's agenda) equals racism. For the first time in U.S. history, are Americans required to submit to their president's agenda or suffer the mainstream media and Democratic party branding an R on

Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens penned a putrid op-ed in the Washington Post claiming he knew how to fix the Second Amendment to end controversy over its true meaning. The first 10 amendments to the Constitution placed limits on the powers of the new federal government. (Snip) As Second Amendment expert and activist Clayton Cramer says, Stevens is pushing a bunch of hornswaggle. I wish that I could say that Justice Stevens was engaged in an accurate although misleading statement. But it is not even that. It is both inaccurate and misleading – and not even in a very clever way.

Two of the biggest and best-connected lobbyists in Washington, DC are divorcing each other, and in the process they are placing on the public record the amazing wealth that can be generated by helping rent-seeking powerful interests shape the laws and regulations that separate Americans into winners and losers as the state confiscates a fifth of our GDP and regulates much of the rest. Matthew Continetti chronicles the divorce of Tony and Heather Podesta in the Free Beacon, and it is arresting reading. If the name Podesta rings a bell, that is because Tony’s kid brother John is a former White

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

President Obama inspired a generation of young people to support his historic election in 2008. And in 2012, despite the struggles of his first term, Mr. Obama still managed to win the support of a full 60% of voters age 18-29. But the man who once dreamed of being a transformative leader in the Reagan mold is inspiring few of those young people to follow his lead. "For all the talk about the movement that elected Mr. Obama, the more notable movement of Obama supporters has been away from politics. It appears that few of the young people who voted

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it
