White House pushes Obama
budget, warns Republicans about
´my way or highway´ tactic

The White House tried Sunday to win support for President Obama’s forthcoming budget, arguing the plan is a balanced approach to economic prosperity and warning Republicans about stonewalling negotiations and pushing a “rejected” Romney plan. “Right now, the approach of many Republicans, particularly the leadership in the House, is my way or the highway,” senior White House adviser Dan Pfeiffer told “Fox News Sunday.” “Their view is the only acceptable plan is to try to … essentially enact the Romney economic plan. The American people rejected that, and Republicans shouldn´t be doubling down on it.”

Obama has put forth how many budgets so far and not gotten even one vote, Democrat or Republican and it is the Republicans fault. There is a term for a guy like that. Not polite to use it here on Lucianne, but we all know what it is.

Sensible Americans understand that controlling government spending should come before tax increases, and that enhancing border security should precede amnesty. They are also able to grasp that verifying the elegibility of voters is essential to maintaining the intregity of the ballot.

But we know that exists a subset of the population that thinks it makes sense to raise taxes without controlling spending, provide amnesty without strict border enforcement, and allow people to vote whose eligibility to vote has not been verified.

Such irrational beliefs are of course defended and justified by all manner of rationalizations, denials, distortions, and downright lies. It appears that some defenders of such beliefs know prefectly well that they are proposing nonsense but that others, perhaps a significant number, are genuinely unable to comprehend the absurdity of their demands. In some cases this is the result of inadequate mental ability - but in many more it seems to result from ideological tunnel vision. The latter are capable of understanding the issues but choose not to do so because of their intense partisan passions.

This first sentence of this article is misleading. The White House and the President are one and the same. Yet this author would have us believe the two are separate. I guess they write their stories this way so if the budget fails, Obama doesn´t get the blame.

If the White House truly wants a budget, then the White House should meet with the opposition and come to some agreeable terms.

The Obama budget, like everything else from Obama, is rubbish. They have taken this projection thing to a new level I have never seen before. The regime of lies is all we get nowadays. It is all very discouraging but that´s what we can expect from a criminal regime.

Just ahead of a possible Hillary run for the presidency, the Clinton Library released a new load of documents from President Bill Clinton’s years in the White House. One of those documents attempts to explain Hillary´s "vast right-wing conspiracy" claim in which the Clinton administration accused Republican staffers of colluding with "extremists" on the Internet to hurt the Clintons. On January 27, 1998, Hillary Clinton appeared on NBC´s Today Show. During her interview with Matt Lauer, she claimed that a "vast right-wing conspiracy" had been trying to destroy her husband "since the day he announced for president." That interview drew

According to PolicyMic.com, Ommanney was sent to photograph American gun owners for the German magazine Stern. In so doing, he discovered "people who are often far from the stereotypical vision of the American ´gun-nut.´" He found a teenager named Elizabeth, who posed with a Walther handgun "in front of a floral wallpaper backdrop." He found entire families--mother, father, daughter, son--who posed with their firearms of choice. Ommanney also found one woman with a pump shotgun for home

As the nation awaits Hillary Clinton´s decision of whether or not she will run for president in 2016, a cache of 7,500 pages of newly released documents from Bill Clinton´s years in the White House show some familiar political themes. One revelation is that Bill Clinton worried that a massive new healthcare scheme would cause Americans to lose their insurance. In 1993, the President allowed his wife, first lady Hillary Clinton, to become the face of an Obamacare-like takeover of the nation´s healthcare system. The plan was sarcastically dubbed Hillarycare. But as these internal documents show, in what is now a

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

WASHINGTON AND NEW YORK - In September 2001, as the U.S. reeled from the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, Vladimir Putin supported Washington´s imminent invasion of Afghanistan in ways that would have been inconceivable during the Cold War. He agreed that U.S. planes carrying humanitarian aid could fly through Russian air space. He said the U.S. military could use airbases in former Soviet republics in Central Asia. And he ordered his generals to brief their U.S. counterparts on their own ill-fated 1980s occupation of Afghanistan. During Putin´s visit to President George W. Bush´s Texas ranch two

A new photo of a mysterious flying object over Kansas has been revealed. It appears to be the same aircraft as one that was snapped soaring over Texas last month. The exact identify of the aircraft remains a mystery, but rumours abound that it could be a secret jet. ´The photo is grainy because it was taken with a hand-held maxed-out 400mm telephoto lens through a cloud layer and then it was severely cropped to bring it up even close,´ says Jeff Templin, who took the photo on 16 April. ´There is no way to know the altitude and no way to judge its

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

If the Rev. John DeBonville could preach a sermon to lift the souls of churchgoers across America, his message would be simple: Stop dressing so tacky for church. DeBonville has heard about the “come as you are” approach to dressing down for Sunday service, but he says the Sabbath is getting too sloppy. When he scans the pews of churches, DeBonville sees rows of people dressed in their Sunday worst. They saunter into church in baggy shorts, flip-flop sandals, tennis shoes and grubby T-shirts. Some even slide into the pews carrying coffee in plastic foam containers as if they’re going to Starbucks. “It’s like
