The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look
0bama always blames everyone else. The jobs numbers are bad because of all of 0bama´s failed policies, his massive government regulation, the massive tax hike he just implemented, his 0bamacare huge tax hike, and his printing of 85 Billion dollars a month that has caused everything to cost a whole lot more. Companies are hiring less because 0bama´s policies are just horrid for business. We just decided to close our doors; plain and simple, as we could no longer afford to pay our employees.
The bHo has done everything possible to harm small business. It took bHo´s administration 4 years to admit that small business accounts for more jobs than any other employer classification yet he continues to damage them. Everything coming out of this despicable administration is a lie or a bogus excuse.
Want to see some sad job numbers, wait for obummercare to get rolling. Medical personnel are closing offices and going into research. Small business owners are cutting all back to part-time hours and no medical coverage.Soon those part-time folks will be gone. Grocery stores get more automated each day, and this is just the start.Jobless will go up exponentially in the next 90 days.
>The administration continues to urge Congress to replace the sequester with balanced deficit reduction, while working to put in place measures to put more Americans back to work like rebuilding our roads and bridges and promoting American manufacturing.
Excuse me but "The President proposes, Congress disposes?" Have I got that wrong? While the Constitution gives the president power to influence Congress in its lawmaking, this POTUS seems to think he has no role whatsoever in lawmaking. He´s dumped his own detritus in Congress´ lap and told them to clean it up as though he has nothing to do with it
When my liberal colleagues complain about Republicans causing all of the harm, I ask them to name a single Obama plan to get the economy going. That shuts them every time. BO has zero goals for the economy and zero plans to get there.
I swear I want to know where I can go to sue someone for the load of bricks I was sold as a sorry excuse for an elementary education. I went through an excellent suburban public school system in the 1950´s-60´s and I promise you: we were taught, plain and simple, that FDR saved this nation from destruction at the hands of the oil and railroad barons, and the Great Depression was the fault of Herbert Hoover. Everyone believed it. And here we are again! I could just spit nails.
Nothing the filthy left does is funny. I´m not amused. I´ll also never forgive nor forget. Starve the beast in ANY way you can. If you can starve them on one Obama phone, be proud. I will ignore the punk and his fellow mutts in media, State and local levels. What they have passed, will be negated over time. What isn´t, will be ignored. I´ll not be ruled by punks.
#7 right on! The word ´sequester´, the latest meme from the left, is the club used to beat the post turtle Republicans over the head with. Republicans will be destroyed by Obama and they sit there and take it. The Republican party is almost finished and illegal amnesty will be the final blow to them with the gaggle of 8. The undocument democrat voters (illegals) will never vote Republican so why go along with the left?
The only people to whom he will sell this crap are his intellectually impaired constituency. Obama has absolute trust in the wisdom of the alleged P. T. Barnum quote: "There´s a sucker born every minute".
Jobs, North Korea, foreclosures, crime, hurricanes, snow in March is all due to the sequester since most Americans are so utterly stupid, they now can´t understand how a plant could be blamed for anything but definitely would if they could understand anything beyond "tingle up my leg" from the Chris Matthews and Jon Stewart news providers (and I´m not being sarcastic). The 51 percent believes it and that´s all that matters. That´s why Hillary and Michelle will be elected in 2016, guaranteed.
How do the job numbers, the national unemployment rate, and the numbers of Americans who have simply stopped looking for work square with the liberal Democrat, and some cheap labor Republican, plans to authorize through immigration reform the mass importation in the years ahead of almost a half million low-skilled and low-wage earning foreign "guest" workers and AGJOBS workers each year on into the future, which would essentially be legalizing most prospective future illegal immigration by providing hundreds of thousands of would be illegal aliens an easy way to come into the USA to work.
Unlike past "guest" worker authorizations that were temporary in nature and required the "guest" workers to leave after their allotted time periods, this new so called "guest" worker plan allows the "guest" workers to stay, become permanent residents, bring their foreign families here, and eventually be given US voting rights. No doubt over the years, if those plans become law, the Democrats will garner millions of new foreign born voters as a result of allowing that many poor, generally uneducated, and low wage earning aliens into the USA.
It is a stupid country that allows politicians to blame what amounts to their own politically based creations, in this case, ObamaCare and sequestration, for the economic pitfalls the the nation is experiencing, and then get away with doing that.
If it´s in print, it must be true. Face it, the Sequester will be blamed on Republicans because the press are like ancient Gods. They walk among us and are aligned with the Democrats. i.e. they help them to defeat their enemies. In the end the Sequester will mean what the press says it means and no one who is not paying attention will be the wiser.
Unfortunately, where I work there was a layoff that was sequester-linked. My firm does a lot of defense work, and that businesses in shrinking. The layoffs (3%) were delayed until after the sequester kicked in, but the knowledge had been there for months.
Of course, if the Republicans had caved and given Obama another tax increase, the overall economy would have dived more, causing even more layoffs. When WW I ended, the budget was cut by 65%, setting the US economy up for the "roaring 20´s". This sequester was a mere pittance.
A stunning new study unveiled on Fox News´ Hannity finds that President Barack Obama’s White House calendar records just one face-to-face meeting between Obama and his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the more than three-and-a-half years leading up to the disastrous Obamacare launch. The startling statistic comes from a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) analysis of Obama’s own official White House calendar, as well as the Politico presidential calendar, and raises new questions about Obama’s executive leadership and management throughout the implementation of his singular legislative achievement. More alarming still, the president’s schedule lists 277 private
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
Today President Obama announced to an audience at the far-left Center for American Progress that he will spend the remainder of his term in office focusing on income inequality. He began by saying that middle-class Americans are struggling, and the American Dream is threatened. He is right. Statistics on the White House’s own web site indicate that since Obama took office, median family income has fallen, per capita income has dropped, and millions of Americans have been plunged into poverty. But Obama is like a weatherman: he takes no responsibility for the disasters he describes. No one, not even a
It’s been a rotten several weeks for the mainstream media. MSNBC Alec Baldwin lost his job after calling a photographer a “c***sucking f*g”’; now he’s been followed to the scrap heap by Martin Bashir, who said someone should “p*ss” and “s***” in Sarah Palin’s mouth. CNN, meanwhile, is cutting back on its news content and instead focusing on entertainment-oriented content like Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown. “We also want to broaden what people can expect from CNN,” boss Jeff Zucker says, explaining that the network needs “an attitude and a take.” Online, it’s been a tough week for outlets like BuzzFeed
Former President Bill Clinton, who prodded President Obama last month to keep his promises on Obamacare, said Tuesday that the political damage for Democrats from the flawed law will be “minimal.” “I believe that if the computer problems are all fixed, and it’s up and running by — and healthy in the next several weeks, I think that the damage will be minimal,” Mr. Clinton told interviewer Jorge Ramos of Fusion. “It’s getting better. I think it’ll be fixed by — in the next few weeks. If it’s worked through, I think within four or five months people will be
Sen. Marco Rubio is making a push this week to burnish his foreign policy credentials and establish gravitas on the world stage ahead of a possible 2016 presidential run, traveling to London to deliver a major policy address and meet British leaders. At a time of vigorous debate within the Republican Party about the United States’ global role, the first-term senator from Florida is articulating a worldview that places him neatly between the GOP’s tea-party-led isolationist wing and its more established interventionist wing. Speaking at the Chatham House think tank in London on Tuesday, Rubio paid homage to the “special
President Obama on Tuesday embarked on the difficult task of persuading Americans to reconsider his landmark health-care law after its botched launch, imploring people to sign up as part of a major push to publicize the benefits of the Affordable Care Act. Republicans immediately lampooned the effort — coming more than three years after passage of the law and two months after its disastrous rollout — and conservative activists vowed to wage a counterassault publicizing the law’s downsides. But Obama and his Democratic allies expressed confidence that they were finally turning the corner after severe technical issues hobbled HealthCare.gov, the
President Obama will cast growing income inequality and a decline in economic mobility as a “fundamental threat to the American dream” during a speech Wednesday in Washington. The speech will serve as an early preview for next year’s State of the Union address, according to a White House official, who said Obama would focus much of his energy over the next three years on the issue. “The decisions we make over the next few years will determine whether or not our children will grow up in an America where, if you work hard, you can get ahead,” the official said.
Good stuff from Jonathan Turley at today’s House hearing on executive power, although I regret that I couldn’t find a more user-friendly format for you to watch. There’s no compilation clip; you’ll have to make do with the C-SPAN embed by fast-forwarding to the time cues I give you and being patient while the vid buffers (and buffers, and buffers).(Snip)That brings us to point two: Even if Congress can’t stop Obama, the courts can. The problem there, though, says Turley, is that O and the DOJ have argued successfully in many cases that no one has standing to sue him
During a presentation at the White House in which President Barack Obama touted the benefits of the Affordable Care Act, the president declared that his signature health care reform law was not going to be repealed. This assertion led his administration members, his staff, and audience members to rise from their seats and give the president a standing ovation. Obama said that ACA opponents’ alternative to the health care reform law is to champion repeal and going back to the health care delivery system status quo ante. He specifically cited Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) who he said was asked directly for
A woman has revealed how difficult it is to eat healthily and stay full when living off an average food stamp budget. Melinda Moulton, from Huntington, Vermont, was one of 200 people to take part in the 3Squares Challenge, which saw her living for a week on just $36 worth of food, or around $1.71 a meal. Opting to try and eat as healthily as possible, Ms Moulton resorted to cheap foods like yogurt for breakfast, two handfuls of peanuts for lunch and lentil stew for dinner, all of which left her unsatisfied.´I don´t know how people do it,´ said
Just over two weeks ago, MSNBC host Martin Bashir delivered a harsh piece of commentary that culminated in the suggestion that someone should “s-h-i-t” in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin‘s (R-AK) mouth. Bashir offered an abject apology on his next broadcast, but a chorus of critics continued to demand action against the host. After a reported “vacation” for the host earlier this week, Bashir announced, Wednesday afternoon, that MSNBC and Martin Bashir are parting ways. Here’s the statement from Martin Bashir, via email: After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday. Upon
[Video] President Obama on Wednesday declared that addressing income inequality would be the focus of “all” of the White House’s efforts “for the rest of my presidency.” In a sweeping address that touched on raising the minimum wage, investing in infrastructure and ending tax breaks for the wealthy, Obama warned that the American economy has become “profoundly unequal,” declaring economic mobility the “challenge of our time.” “The combined trends of increasing inequality and decreasing mobility pose a fundamental threat to the American dream, our way of life, and what we stand for around the globe,” he said in an hour-long
Nineteen people stood behind President Obama on stage in the Executive Office Building Tuesday as the president kicked off a new campaign to promote Obamacare. One of those people, a young Florida woman named Monica Weeks, introduced Obama after telling the story of being struck with Crohn´s Disease at age 19 and receiving expensive treatments for several years that were covered by her parents´ health care plan — because Obamacare allowed her to remain on that plan until age 26. Now, Weeks said, she has coverage through a job. "The Affordable Care Act gives young adults who are just starting
