On his radio show Tuesday night, Mark Levin went after “preening, elitist, country club Republican” Dana Perino for her assertion on Fox’s The Five that Dr. Ben Carson may have hurt his credibility by appearing on too many conservative talk radio shows like Levin’s. After playing a clip of Carson telling Levin that white liberals are “the most racist people there are,” Perino said yesterday that the doctor “burned through so much of his credibility” by appearing on shows of the sort. She argued that if the newfound conservative hero is interested in a
Comments: I sure don´t disagree with him. Perino was way out of line in criticizing Dr. Carson. She seemed to hold such contempt for him. Those on the Five are becoming unwatchable. Beckel is disgusting and hateful. The only one who is credible anymore is Eric Bolling. Greg Gutfeld is funny, but his injections of humor often happen at completely inappropriate times.
But I´m not clear as to what anyone sees in Levin. He usually says what we are already thinking, have been thinking for decades, and he only seems to say it to people like us. He works in an echo chamber.
I saw her and heard her comment and wondered to myself how she knows what is enough and not enough exposure. If her thought process is correct, she just lowered her standing on herself as she certainly is over exposed - everday on the five! For someone who is suppose to be schooled on public speaking and ready on her feet, her pitiful observation on the topic left me flat and doubting her.
Oops sorry for the blank post. I really enjoy Greg Gutfeld, he´s enjoyable but then you have to put up with Perino doing her best Elisabeth Hasselbeck impression and the geriatric mood swings of Bob Beckel.
Dana Perino is exactly correct. We lose many elections because we haven´t the wisdom to see ourselves as others see us. The Leftist media will be all too happy to characterize the good Dr. arson as a creation of Fox News and the angry Right. It´s wrong, of course, but whoamong uhas not met a persuadable person who won´t listen because they have lost that ability owing to a flood of propaganda from the DNC? He needs a broader audience. I recall an incident: a candidate for Governor was in my home fr coffee meeting with our neighbors. My wife was overjoyed and insisted that he would win. My reply: he has lost. If hs late campaign appearances were in the homes of stron Republicans in an overwhelmingly Republican precinct, he has lost. He did. Big. Stay away from controversial topics for now, Dr. Carson. Win people to your side with your personality. Laugh it up with Leno. There is time to press your advantage. Everything in its time.
I can´t stand grown adults who "worry" about how others perceive them. Rove, Perino and many others are the reason the Republican Party is losing races and isn´t worth conservatives voting for. The media is ALL hard-core socialist and will do/say anything to win. The RINOs want to prevent anyone from fighting back effectively. I think a huge chunk of the Republican elite are Democrat infiltrators and they´re getting away with it.
I find it refreshing to listen to Dr. Ben Carson. He is able to answer a question or make a statement that makes sense. It´s short and to the point. He doesn´t repeat the same old talking points. I know it is thought points have to be repeated over and over again. However, there are many ways to relate a point without the hum drum talking points accepted by a given group..
Perino, Gerson, McClelland and the rest of these weenies were the face of the Bush Presidency; mute testament to its fecklessness. The next time Perino has either an original thought or an idea, it´ll be the first time.
The Five started out beautifully, but in some ways has deteriorated in some striving to be all things to all people. The truth is buried to satisfy the desire to be liked by both sides or to be conceived as somehow more intelligent ; it just doesn´t work and makes us not trust the judgement of the speaker. Perino states her opinion quietly, while Beckel & Juan Williams shriek their semi truths from the rafters. Either way they appear disassociated from principle at times. Do they know that is what they are doing? I would say they do, but it shows their insecurity with telling the truth on certain subjects.
A couple of posters need to send that stupid Mark Levin a free copy of the millions of books they´ve written about the constitution and the founding of this country. If this nation survives, Mark Levin will have played a major part in it.
Reading the comments on this topic I can´t tell if Politico people are on it. I´m no fan of Perino, but she is entitled to her opinion same as Levin is. I thought conservatives didn´t want "group think", but variety of thought.
To the poster who mentioned the "angry Right" - what? It´s called passion. It´s the angry Left that is destroying this country and pitting one group against another. Obama won the White House twice, has the Senate and most of courts and most of the Supremes, controls the media with a teeny tiny exeption and yet, he stills complains, whines, etc.
Dana is a pretty and intelligent woman who can come off as cutesy, but she has spent too much time among the elites - you don´t work in the White House in the positions she held and not get caught up in that rarified world.
Mark on the other hand - he left that world a long time ago and like Dana is entitled to his opinions.
Fox News is getting pretty lame and almost unwatchable, well, at lest certain shows: the Five, Shepard Smith, O´Reilly, FOx and Friens.
I want to like Dana....but she seems incapable of saying Schumer even when she has a mouthful. She has the charming and innocent quality of seeing the best in everyone (much like a John Bolton or V.D.H.)but is then crippled by her own graciousness. The left plays dirty and she plays WAY too nice.
Mr. Levin is correct. There is not a day that goes by that I don´t learn something from him about the Constitutiton and our Founding Fathers. He is one of the few on the air who EDUCATES and he tells it straight. Dana Perino should take a look at her buddy Jeb Bush, then get back to us to talk about over exposure.
Mark Levin knows republicans will not act. He keeps on providing the compelling arguments for someone to act or speak out. They never do. And so Yeat´s line, "the best lack all conviction" comes true in America. They are blind or deluded. Or, if they know themselves, they carry the fool that are, among all the traitors in history, the worst of all collaborators. The worst for all eternity. For we, the greatest freest country, could rise again with truth and fearless leadership. Perino teared up last night when Hannity called her "Establishment." Maybe she is doing her best. Maybe she told Bush to be quiet about the coup he and his father well know is going on. Maybe America is just a shade of nail polish.
Dr. Benjamin Carson is a much more accomplished person than Dana Perino. He is much more intelligent and cultured and has gone far further in his education and achievements than Perino. You know, Carson had to deal with racist and classist bullies when he was a child and looks like those same bullies are still around, telling him to shut up. A little research into Carson´s amazing life story would educate those who want to join in with the bullies.
A previous poster said Levin should shut up and learn something. Well, that remark shows the ignorance and bizarre arrogance of the uneducated. Perhaps Dana should shut up and learn something. What has she ever done that comes close to Carson´s accomplishements?
Perhaps the establishment should "shut up" and listen for a while to people who have actually saved children´s and adults´ lives, who became not only a neurosurgeon, but the best in his field. He adapted a procedure to treat seizures in children in a new way that has become the accepted treatment in the world of medicine. He also was the first doctor in history to separate twins joined at the head with both surviving (they are both still alive). He has great ideas to solve our country´s problems and perhaps we should listen to him. He overcame many obstacles and had no privilege of any kind as he did so. Dana basically said for Carson to shut up. Cannot believe the unthinking among us who would support what she said.
#28 is right about group think. It´s a shame someone like Perino can´t express her opinion without the "real" conservatives like Levin and many on this site attacking her. Some on the right are sounding just like the far left who think Obama can do no wrong.
I like Levin sometimes, Perino sometimes and many others sometimes. I try not to come unglued if they don´t always agree with me. I like to hear lots of opinions, not just an echo chamber.
I think Dana Perino was a good WH spokesman for Bush - she has an ease with words I would die for, however she is part of the reason we are where we are. She did not defend Bush either. She´s a cuter female version of Karl Rove.
I love Mark Levin´s passion, and if everyone listened to him, the country would be in so much better shape.
I invite you all to kick the Beckel-Five habit by joining Glenn Beck over at Blaze TV. He is building a network completely outside the oppression of the LSM. President Obama has recalled John Podesta to work at the White House as a “counselor.” Podesta is the Clinton hand who founded the far-left Center for American Progress (home of the clownish Think Progress blog). Podesta’s appointment, which needs no congressional approval, comes at a time when Obama is already making moves to do without Congress. He has used executive actions to re-write Obamacare, and to recalibrate immigration law, both in ways that just happen to favor either himself or the Democrats. The New York Times reports that Podesta will work on executive actions when he returns to the White
On CNN’s “Reliable Sources” on Sunday, new host Brian Stelter turned to President Obama the press critic. At the end of his cakewalk “Hardball” interview last week, Obama called out the media for being divisive. “The American people are good and they are decent. And yes, we get very divided partly because our politics and our media specifically tries to divide them and splinter them.” Stelter asked a decent question about whether that was an odd statement to make on divisive MSNBC. NPR television critic Eric Deggans shot that down, insisting MSNBC was a “great place” to attack cable news
Former CIA Director Leon Panetta revealed classified information at a 2011 awards ceremony attended by Zero Dark Thirty filmmaker Mark Boal, according to documents obtained by the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch. The CIA allowed Boal, the screenwriter of Zero Dark Thirty, to attend a June 24, 2011 award ceremony celebrating the successful raid on Osama bin Laden’s hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan that May. A transcript of Panetta’s speech that night obtained by Judicial Watch is labeled “top secret,” and significant portions of it are redacted. At the conclusion his speech, Panetta told the audience, “You have made me proud
UPDATE: Rep. Paul Ryan and Sen. Patty Murray unveiled a budget proposal Tuesday night. The proposal, which has yet to be voted on, busts through sequester caps, setting FY 2014 spending at $1.014 trillion — billions beyond the levels mandated by sequester. The proposal contains no mention of pension reform. Conservatives had better start paying attention to the budget battle raging in Washington: If things go south — and they are poised to do just that — the tea party’s single greatest policy victory, the sequester, could be destroyed. And worse yet, it could be destroyed in exchange for nothing. The sequester
Approval of ObamaCare in the United States has risen eight percentage points in the last month, according to a new poll. Thirty-nine percent of people now approve of the law, according to a CBS News/New York Times poll released Tuesday evening. Half of the public, by contrast, disapproves of ObamaCare, the poll found. Nearly 60 percent say they don’t think the sign-up process for ObamaCare is going well, but more than one-third say it’s improving. These figures come in just ten days after the administration touted the repaired federal portal for the insurance, HealthCare.gov. Obama’s general job approval rating has increased to 42 percent,
Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.), in an appearance on MSNBC´s "PoliticsNation" on Friday, condemned former Sen. Rick Santorum´s comments comparing Nelson Mandela´s fight against apartheid to the fight against Obamacare as "shameful." "And actually if I was going to make a comparison, I would make the opposite comparison, because I think the struggle for justice, which Nelson Mandela led for so many years is similar as the struggle for the health care as a right for people in the richest country in the world, and so the idea that they would make that comparison in the opposite way is just tragic,"
According to a new Rasmussen Report, the majority of Americans do not believe the deportation of illegal immigrants living in the United States is aggressive enough. More than 20 House Democrats last week urged President Obama to halt the deportation of illegal immigrants until Congress passes a comprehensive immigration reform plan, but voters by a two-to-one margin oppose that idea. Most already think the federal government is not vigilant enough in deporting those who are in this country illegally. Only 29% of Likely U.S. Voters think the government should stop deporting illegal immigrants until Congress passes an immigration reform plan.
New York — The anchor who might beat Bill O’Reilly gets her eyelash extensions applied one at a time, with tweezers and dabs of glue, about 90 minutes before showtime, right after a motorized gun sprays foundation over her face, neck, shoulders, collarbone and sternum, wiping out a galaxy of light freckles that spreads across her — Let me stop you right there. Photos of the day Uruguay legalizes marijuana, Kiev police pull back from protesters, aging U.S. prison population and more. Tuesday´s Photos of the day Would you write this way about a man? About O’Reilly himself? At least that’s what Megyn Kelly might ask at
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
In August 2013 I became very sick with what I thought was a cold. After a few days I lost vision in my left eye and I checked into the hospital. I soon found out that what I thought was a summer cold was actually Strep bacteria poisoning my blood stream. The bacteria blinded my left eye, ate a hole through my heart, caused five strokes on both sides of my brain and forced the removal of my prosthetic left knee. Dr. Lee was the surgeon assigned to perform open heart surgery. What was originally scheduled to last four hours ended
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
The health director who approved the release of President Obama’s birth certificate has died in a plane crash, Hawaiian officials said Thursday. Loretta Fuddy died after the Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft she was travelling on went down shortly after leaving Kalaupapa Airport at around 3:15 p.m. local time (10:15 a.m. ET) on Wednesday. The other eight people on board were rescued, Richard Schuman, president of Makani Kai Air, told NBC News early Thursday, adding that that there was no indication as to why the plane had crashed. Fuddy hit the headlines two years ago when she approved a waiver request allowing Obama to
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
