| JERUSALEM -- Insisting "peace is possible," President Barack Obama on Thursday prodded both Israelis and Palestinians to return to long-stalled negotiations with few, if any, pre-conditions, softening his earlier demands that Israel stop building settlements in disputed territory. The president made his appeal just hours after rockets fired from Hamas-controlled Gaza landed in a southern Israeli border town, a fresh reminder of the severe security risks and tensions that have stymied peace efforts for decades. Obama, on his second day in the Middle East, shuttled between Jerusalem and Ramallah, reaching out to the public as well as political leaders.

So he says, as rockets are fired by one of "the parties" into Israeli residential neighborhoods while Barry the Weak [AKA Barry the Moron] has his photo-op in the Holy Land.
You could never sell this as a movie script. Never. As they say, fiction, unlike life, must be believable.

Julie´s as ignorant as Obama. The Palestinians want much, much more than a return to ´67 borders. They want a return to pre ´48 so they can conquer Israel. All Abbas has to do is recognize Israel as a Jewish state.

President Obama is simply reaffirming support for a two-state solution. That is a fair solution. Jews and Arabs both have claims to national states in the region of Palestine. Arabs have been there some 1000 years. No Israeli settlements in Palestinian state territory! Also Palestinians must recognize Israel´s right to exist. btw criticism of Likud policies is NOT anti-Semitism.

Here is more proof that Obama is sincere. Of course it is also proof that he is a fool - but we can be confident he is a sincere fool, for nobody who realized how absurd his ideas are about the Middle East problem could possibly say such things in public for fear of sounding like a fool. He is absolutely clueless. He has no idea, none whatsoever, that he does not know what he is talking about. And because he is a fool, he is incorrigible. He cannot learn. He is fated to return to his folly like a dog to its vomit.

Can any Obama supporter tell me one thing he has been honest about other than things that are detrimental to the United States - ie, energy production (real, not wind fairy dust), gun control, immigration - anything at all. Given the above why in the world would anyone believe what he had to say in that speech that the Israelis were madly cheering. I wonder if those folks will cheer as the palestinians, at best, evict them from their homes and, at worst, well, think nazi Germany.

Hearing the constant applause on my kitchen TV, I got up from the computer to see what audience could possibly give Obama that kind of a reception. It sure wasn´t the Knesset where Clinton and George W. went to address the Israelis. It was a room full of adolescent minded college students, lapping up every word of the pablum he´s fed the masses every stage of his political career. Pure emotionalism for the warm and fuzzy crowd no different than his adoring voters back home. How is it possible for Israelis of any age facing annihilation to fall for this?

Obama uses the proven strategy of a well-trained radical, rabel-rousing,community organizer. He goes to a middle eastern country. Incites the youth to over-throw the existing government. Then goes home and leaves the smoldering mess in his wake. I can´t fathom why no one has ever accused or convicted him of this practice. It seems very clear. On an unrelated topic; the bible says this about the antichrist "For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them" and "Through his cunning He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule And he shall exalt himself in his heart. He shall destroy many in their prosperity."

As others have long noted and commented upon, if radical Leftists like Obama and others exerted a mere fraction of the energy and good will they regularly devote to trying to befriend an bridge gaps and compomise and accommodate foreign critics and downright declared foes of the United States to working constructively with their domestic Republican opposition, American politics would be a much nicer and productive activity. It is perfectly amazing that people who cannot or will not get along with Fox News or Rush Limbaugh, not to mention John Boehner et al., actually believe they are going to achieve breakthroughs and great strides with foreigners who have agendas and interests contrary to those of America.
Yet this curious naivete is completely characteristic of Leftist fantasy ideology. It seems to be a part of the ideology itself. As far back as one cares to look American Leftists have been leaving no stone unturned to appease, apologize for, accommodate, reason with, adapt to and compromise with foreign enemies of America and Western values. The case of Joseph Stalin and the USSR is but one of the most outstanding and disgusting examples. We should not forget, either, how few are the former Stalinists and USSR apologists on the Left who have ever publicly and unequivocally proclaimed their mea culpa and confessed that they were, after all, gravely mistaken. This is because more than many people realize do not accept that they were mistaken.
Obama and his gang are political amateurs who do not understand how the world works and who cannot even get along with their domestic political opponents, whom they hate with a fury several orders of magnitude greater than any animosity they entertain for manifest and declared enemies of America.

They "understand" how the world should work.

Wednesday, May 22, 2013, in broad daylight, a murderous act of jihad butchery was committed on a busy London street. The Daily Mail published a pictorial chronology of the gruesome attack, noting, prominently: At 2:20 PM (London time) a British soldier (25-year-old Drummer Lee Rigby of the 2nd Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers), wearing a "Help for Heroes T-Shirt" (a charity for wounded British soldiers) was deliberately rammed by a car and crushed against a road sign. The Muslim assailants emerged from the car, dragged the victim to a wall, slashing and stabbing him to

Ron Radosh, writing on PJMedia, dug back into New Left history and political theory in coming up with an explanation for the IRS´s targeting of conservative groups. Radosh provided a telling quote from Herbert Marcuse´s theory of "repressive tolerance" article of 1965. I doubt whether it really applies to the IRS scandal but it´s timely in other ways. "Surely, no government can be expected to foster its own subversion, but in a democracy such a right is vested in the people (i.e. in the majority of the people). This means that the ways should not be

During his foreign policy speech Thursday afternoon, President Obama warned that domestic terrorism would increase in the modern age of the Internet. “[T]his threat is not new,” Obama said. “But technology and the Internet increase its frequency and lethality.” Obama warned Americans that materials on the Internet could influence people to commit terrorist acts. “Today, a person can consume hateful propaganda, commit themselves to a violent agenda and learn how to kill without leaving their home,” he said.

How many ignored warnings does it take? That is one question that should hang over Britain after the horror of the daytime murder of a British soldier on the streets of south London. On Wednesday afternoon, Drummer Lee Rigby was killed in Woolwich by two men wielding large knives and shouting "Allahu akbar"—God is great. Islamists have been saying for years they would do this. They have planned to do it. And now they have done it. The attack itself is not surprising. What is surprising is that British society remains so utterly unwilling not just to deal

The White House insists President Obama is "outraged" by the "inappropriate" targeting and harassment of conservative groups. If true, it´s a remarkable turnaround for a man who helped pioneer those tactics. On Aug. 21, 2008, the conservative American Issues Project ran an ad highlighting ties between candidate Obama and Bill Ayers, formerly of the Weather Underground. The Obama campaign and supporters were furious, and they pressured TV stations to pull the ad—a common-enough tactic in such ad spats. What came next was not common. Bob Bauer, general counsel for the campaign (and later general counsel for the White House),

IRS Scandal: The inexplicable raid nearly two years ago on a guitar maker for using allegedly illegal wood that its competitors also used was another targeting by this administration of its political enemies. On Aug. 24, 2011, federal agents executed four search warrants on Gibson Guitar Corp. facilities in Nashville and Memphis, Tenn., and seized several pallets of wood, electronic files and guitars. One of the top makers of acoustic and electric guitars, including the iconic Les Paul introduced in 1952, Gibson was accused of using wood illegally obtained in

Homeland Insecurity: A number of recent terrorist cases call into question Washington´s push to give amnesty to all illegal immigrants, including those from hostile Muslim countries. The latest case involves a possibly illegal Chechen immigrant who reportedly stabbed an FBI agent in Orlando. Ibragim Todashev was close to confessing to a triple homicide in Boston when he suddenly lunged at the agent during an interview. The Muslim man was then shot dead. Todashev, who´d traveled recently to the al-Qaida hotspot of Chechnya, was pals with Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Todashev reportedly implicated Tsarnaev in a grisly mass murder in

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
