Venezuelans debate how to preserve
Chavez’s legacy — and his body

Washington Post, by Juan Forero

Caracas, Venezuela - His frenzied followers just don’t want to say goodbye, and Hugo Chavez’s heirs say maybe they won’t have to. Ten days after his death, Chavez’s most loyal lieutenants are debating where to place his body even as they keep his memory alive with a steady stream of televised tributes and speeches extolling his self-styled revolutionary movement. The initial idea to embalm him — “like Lenin,” as the new president, Nicolas Maduro, put it — is still possible. But Maduro said that plan may prove unworkable because the government waited too long to begin preparing the body

Comments:
I sure hope that SNL did a "skit" on this. After all, this is the way 0bama and the LIV´s get their "news."

Pickle him.

They could always stuff him like Trigger. He already looked like he was stuffed when he was alive (the gluttonous greedy tyrant!).

They should mummify him and put him in the Inca pyramids.

Give him an enema and bury him in a shoebox.

Stuff his worthless carcass with newspaper, stick an apple in his mouth, roast him for three hours over an open flame, and then cram him into a barrel full of pickle juice.

Burn in Hell, Hugo! May all of your supporters and fellow travelers soon join you!

Chavez´s handlers were so brainwashed, they spent maybe weeks in denial that he was actually dead. Let´s wait until tomorrow, maybe he´ll come back to life. The other thing is they didn´t want to embarrass Cuba´s healthcare system. That´s why they cooked up the story that the US infected him with cancer.

He was a stench while alive; imagine the odor now would rubberize one’s knees.

It kind of remind me of Congo kleptocrat dictator Mobotu´s funeral - whose body stunk so bad in the African heat the funeral goers had to flee the odious scene.

Panama´s OAS ambassador, who´s been right in the past, has credibly stated that Chavez died in Cuba last Dec. 30 and today a Venezuelan general confirmed it. If so, the body has been rotting for about a quarter of a year before anyone admitted he was dead. It was enough time for the Cubans to ship 2500 troops to Caracas to ´monitor´ elections for a certain result under the rubric of ´fairness´ and ´defending the revolution.´ This is getting gross.

As Venezuela tries to figure out what to do with its rotting corpse, a brand new pope has emerged from the region, with a message of hope and life.

What´s that smell?

The city dump would make a good burial place...that way everyone could visit.

#9 That smell is Washington DC and Obie...Chavez can´t hold a candle to that stench.

Everything is still frozen solid here in Minnesota. Where is that global warming when you need it? Maybe Rachael Carson and "Silent Spring´ were right! Anyway, a comfortable coffin placed outside here and moved north 100 miles every day would preserve a body easily. Stop when you get to the North Pole. They found a Mammoth elephant still frozen there since the last Ice Age.

Mexico City - Guatemala’s highest court on Monday threw out the genocide conviction and prison sentence of the former dictator Gen. Efraín Ríos Montt. The decision by Guatemala’s Constitutional Court was a dramatic legal victory for General Ríos Montt, 86, and a blow to human rights advocates who had called his conviction a sign that Guatemala’s courts would no longer allow impunity for the country’s powerful. General Ríos Montt was sent to prison immediately after the verdict on May 10 when a three-panel tribunal found him guilty of genocide and crimes against humanity.

Monday the Department of Justice Inspector General [IG] confirmed what Townhall and other media outlets have been reporting for more than a year now: DOJ officials smeared Fast and Furious whistleblower and ATF Agent John Dodson. As a reminder, Dodson was the first whistleblower to expose Operation Fast and Furious. He revealed the operation´s connection to the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry on to CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson on March 3, 2011. The IG report confirms that former U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke, who has a long personal and professional relationship with

Monday afternoon, ABC News released a chilling report that details what journalists have faced while trying to get some answers from the Cincinnati IRS office, which is where a majority of the Tea Party targeting took place. According to ABC, an "armed uniform police officer with the Federal Protective Service" "escorted" reporters through the public building. ABC says if the intent wasn´t to "scare off" employees who might talk, "it was the effect." ABC News is also hearing conflicting reports from Cincinnati IRS employees and the IRS Headquarters in Washington.

Four key Hillary Clinton staffers from
2008 unlikely to sign on for 2016 bid
Washington Post, by Jason Horowitz    Original Article

Howard Wolfson, the 2008 communications director for Hillary Rodham Clinton, has said he will not return for a 2016 presidential campaign. Neither, for that matter, will Neera Tanden, the campaign’s policy director. Ditto for Mark Penn, the chief strategist, and Patti Solis Doyle, the embattled campaign manager. As core members of a dysfunctional “Team of Rivals,” these top advisers were seared, scattered and, to different degrees, forged by the 2008 experience. Haunted by the failures in management and messaging, they have worked hard to get over their shattered White House dreams

The Issue: The 2013 farm bill
United Press International, by Marcella S. Kreiter    Original Article
Posted By: LittleHoodedMonk- 5/19/2013 10:58:05 PM     Post Reply
The biggest issue in the U.S. farm bill has little to do with agriculture and everything to do with partisan politics and the role of government in caring for the poor: food stamps. It has a catchier name now, SNAP, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. The mark-up of the $500 billion measure approved 36-10 by the House Agriculture Committee last week cuts $20.5 billion in food assistance over 10 years to rein in SNAP´s growth. The program, which serves 47 million Americans, averages $70 billion a year, about 70 percent of farm bill spending and eclipsing the crop insurance program.

In Shadow of the Stonewall Inn,
a Gay Man Is Killed
New York Times, by Marc Santora & Joseph Goldstein*    Original Article

Mark Carson did not hide that he was gay, and when he went out on the town he would often head to Greenwich Village, where years before he was born, much of the struggle for gay liberation unfolded. Yet late Friday night, just blocks from the Stonewall Inn, among the most important landmarks of that struggle, he was confronted with a man screaming antigay slurs, who then stalked him before pulling out a silver revolver and fatally shooting him, the police said. “This clearly looks to be a hate crime,” Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly said at a news conference on Saturday.

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care?
