Beijing - China´s new leader Xi Jinping pledged a cleaner, more efficient government Sunday as the country´s ceremonial legislature wrapped up a pivotal session that installed the latest generation of communist leaders in a once-a-decade transfer of power. (Snip) "We must resolutely reject formalism, bureaucratism, hedonism and extravagance, and resolutely fight against corruption and other misconduct in all manifestations," Xi said. Xi, already the country´s overall leader since being named Communist Party general secretary in November, was installed as president during the

Comments:
Ironic that a Communist country that doesn´t keep the Lord´s Day holy by not working, has all their bureaucrats in to promise an all out assault on the very things that define the 0bama Administration. Except, they are talking about their "corruption." We´ll see what kind of transparency they have with themselves and the West as trade and nuclear problems escalate worldwide.

Eggzackly !!!

The wise old men in china can see the practical limits and limitations of communism but Barky, the neophyte, still exhibits the boundless and untested exuberance of the sophomore.

Must we run this experiment in communism again ???

Is population control/ eco-terrorism really at the heart of the impending crash and burn ???

Instead of having safety net programs like we do,the Chinese spends the money on mindless buildings that no one can afford to move into. This is pretty much what Howard Dean wanted to do,create government work out of thin air to give people jobs.Obama´s stimulus was supposed to do the same but the money went to line donor´s pockets instead.

My guess is Chinese building contractors are getting super rich while the workers make barely liveable money and if Obama had his way the same thing would happen here.Instead of spending this stupid money on building they should spend it on free modern cooking stoves, clean up their waterways and other polluting industries.

If you had been looking up at the moon at the right moment on March 17, you could have seen an unusual flash of light – a one-second burst of heat caused by the impact of a large meteoroid. No telescope required. “For about one second, the impact site was glowing like a 4th magnitude star,” NASA said in reporting the news Friday. This meteoroid was the size of a small boulder, and was travelling very fast. NASA estimates the size at 0.3 to 0.4 meters wide, and the speed at 56,000 m.p.h. The resulting explosion delivered a force equal to 5 tons of TNT. NASA puts a footnote on the word

Boston - The controversies swirling around the Obama administration — from the IRS targeting of conservative groups to lingering questions about last year´s terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya — are threatening to engulf Massachusetts´ special U.S. Senate election. The troubles could make it harder for Republican candidate Gabriel Gomez to turn the focus of the race back on jobs, the economy and budget as he tries to tie his rival and longtime Democratic Congressman Edward Markey to the nation´s sluggish recovery. But the episodes could also prove problematic for Markey if the public begins

Moscow - Ryan Fogle, the man Russia´s security services claimed to have captured last week as he tried to recruit a Russian to spy for the United States, left Russia on Sunday, NTV television reported. Fogle checked in on a flight at Moscow´s Sheremetyevo airport, NTV said. The Russian Foreign Ministry had earlier declared Fogle, a third secretary at the US Embassy in Moscow, persona non grata for "activity incompatible with his diplomatic status." He was told to leave Russia by May 20. The Russian Federal Security Service claimed last Tuesday to have detained Fogle in the act of meeting

President Obama told the graduating class at Morehouse College, the country´s preeminent historically black college, on Sunday said there is "no longer any room for excuses" for this generation of African-American men and that it was time for their generation to step up professionally and in their personal lives. Minnesota Somalis react to

Minneapolis - Wide-ranging sentences handed down in the yearslong federal investigation into recruiting and financing for the terrorist group al-Shabab have kindled a mix of outrage, confusion and relief among members of Minnesota´s large Somali community. Some say the 10- and 20-year prison sentences for two Minnesota women who sent money to the group were too harsh, especially since two men who traveled to Somalia and joined al-Shabab got three years. The attorney for one man sentenced to 20 years in prison has already filed a notice of appeal; more are expected.

Seoul - North Korea fired a short-range missile from its east coast on Sunday, a day after launching three of these missiles, a South Korean news agency said, ignoring calls for restraint from Western powers. Launches by the North of short-range missiles are not uncommon but, after recent warnings from the communist state of impending nuclear war, such actions have raised concerns about the region´s security. (Snip) U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said he was concerned about North Korea´s launch of short-range missiles, urging Pyonyang to refrain from further launches and return to stalled nuclear

Only one winning ticket for a record U.S. Powerball lottery jackpot worth $590.5 million was sold in Florida, organizers said, but there was no official word about who won it. The winning numbers from Saturday night´s drawing were: 10, 13, 14, 22 and 52, with a Powerball number of 11, and the odds of winning were put at one in 175 million. (Snip) Had Saturday´s drawing failed to yield a winner, the jackpot for the next drawing, set for Wednesday, would have risen to $925 million. After Saturday´s results were announced, the jackpot was reset back to $40 million.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

Washington – Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-MO, issued a video statement Friday in response to reports that the Internal Revenue Service unfairly targeted conservative nonprofit groups. The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. He said he didn´t reveal conclusions of the probe, which was in its early stages, and his disclosure came as part

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.
