| Colorado - A bill to legalize same-sex civil unions in Colorado won final approval from state lawmakers on Tuesday and was expected to be signed into law, reflecting a recent shift to the left in the political balance of power in the Denver statehouse. (Snip) Colorado is one of 30 states with a constitutional amendment that defines marriage as exclusively between a man and a woman. Assuming enactment of the newly passed bill, Colorado would join eight states that recognize civil unions or domestic partnerships in lieu of gay marriage, according to the Human Rights Campaign.

I think this appears To be a reasonable compromise especially in such a liberal state.´ "civil" union is no different than a contract between to parties. Where private contracts are being honored - I don´t see that as a bad thing - I don´t have to agree with ones lifestyle to acknowledge their rights to a civil contract.
Marriage is different. I think purist absolutism will create conditions where if no reasonable alternative is given to gays - marriages will be challenged.
I think this is reasonable. Especially considering the state involved.
Now how bouts honoring them 2nd amendment rights Colorado!?

"Civil unions" is the first step, not the final goal. Gays in California once said they weren´t interested in marriage, just civil unions so they could visit in hospitals, leave property, ect. The good people of California said "OK." However, in the lawsuit against Prop 8, the gay lobby then changed it up, stating that "civil unions" created a separate class and it was counter to "equal treatment under the law" and therefore discriminatory. Their goal is to "fundamentally transform" the basic unit of society - the family. "Gay rights" have nothing to do with the real marxist socialist "progressive" agenda. Wait and see, "gay marriage" will be coming soon to Colorado and the rest of the country. We´ve already lost this battle.

Monday afternoon, ABC News released a chilling report that details what journalists have faced while trying to get some answers from the Cincinnati IRS office, which is where a majority of the Tea Party targeting took place. According to ABC, an "armed uniform police officer with the Federal Protective Service" "escorted" reporters through the public building. ABC says if the intent wasn´t to "scare off" employees who might talk, "it was the effect." ABC News is also hearing conflicting reports from Cincinnati IRS employees and the IRS Headquarters in Washington.

The biggest issue in the U.S. farm bill has little to do with agriculture and everything to do with partisan politics and the role of government in caring for the poor: food stamps. It has a catchier name now, SNAP, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. The mark-up of the $500 billion measure approved 36-10 by the House Agriculture Committee last week cuts $20.5 billion in food assistance over 10 years to rein in SNAP´s growth. The program, which serves 47 million Americans, averages $70 billion a year, about 70 percent of farm bill spending and eclipsing the crop insurance program.

Jerusalem - Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held out the prospect on Sunday of further Israeli strikes inside Syria, pledging to act to prevent advanced weapons from reaching Hezbollah and other militant groups. If you had been looking up at the moon at the right moment on March 17, you could have seen an unusual flash of light – a one-second burst of heat caused by the impact of a large meteoroid. No telescope required. “For about one second, the impact site was glowing like a 4th magnitude star,” NASA said in reporting the news Friday. WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement
