On Rush Limbaugh’s radio show on Monday, National Review’s Mark Steyn explained why an incident involving a seven-year-old boy’s punishment and the subsequent reaction for chewing a Pop Tart in the shape of a gun is a sign the country is “doomed.” Steyn, author of “After America: Get Ready for Armageddon,” compared this generation of children, who may have felt threatened by the so-called Pop Tart gun, to the American generation that stormed the beaches of Normandy. “You’re doomed, America,” Steyn said. “You’re done for. No society can survive this level of stupidity.
Comments: Doomed for stupidity sounds about right...
It should be required that teachers understand little boys before they castrate them. From the time a little boy is born he is Superman, and will make a weapon out of anything. He will save little girls from monsters, and save the world from bad guys. I know, because I was once a little boy! So happy to have been a little boy in the 50s, where teachers understood us. Today´s teachers are complete imbiciles. We need a few male teachers who understand, not an army of women who have no clue.
Poster #5: Today´s teachers are complete imbiciles.
Not so much imbeciles as totally indoctrinated by women´s libbers into thinking little girls are perfect as born, and little boys should be pounded into "little girl" behavior as there is "really no difference" between the sexes, it´s just that "boys persist in non-productive behavior" because they really aren´t "as smart" as girls.
Wait..if they do believe the above statement, they actually are imbeciles.
And this from "educators." How farcical. But I think Steyn is wrong about this evidencing doom. This absurdity is recognized as such by everyone except the sad, earnest and, no doubt, low I.Q. teachers and administators who made this decision. I don´t like the phrase those who can´t do, teach but it seems appropriate here.
The PC sensitivity indoctrination is apparently spreading fast to a public school near you. In a personal experience, last week in a "professional development" session on suicide prevention at the high school where I work, a counselor warned us sternly that there was a picture of a gun in the video she was about to present. Oooooh. Imagine that, a mean gun. I rolled my eyes, almost walked out. Next year is my last before retirement. That´s when I don´t have to put up with it, and I won´t.
I knew we were doomed after last november. You cant fix stupid. You have to wait for it to exterminate itself through natural selection. It just takes time. Lots and lots of time. In the meantime, you should be teaching your children spanish or chinese.
Having dealt with a few seriously deficient teachers over my and my children´s school careers, I have come to believe that one of the problems is that teachers/administrators have spent their entire lives inside schools. They go to school, college, graduate school, then return to school to teach, and perhaps move up to administrative positions.
Many have lived in a school environment for their whole lives. And, after they get tenure, very little bad can happen to them, no matter how poor a job they do.
There is one grand, overarching commandment that the atheistic gods of political correctness demand their victims obey: Thou Shalt Not Think. It may start with small things, but eventually the brain short circuits and shuts down entirely (a slobbering Obama voter is born!). One would have hoped that Americans, of all people, would be immune to this debilitating disease, but alas...
Listening to Steyn,I think he was more troubled that a law had to be passed to counteract this teacher´s stupidity.Constitutionally, you can´t punish thought. The teacher thought is was a gun but the kid claimed it was a mountain. So the presumption of guilt was there on the kid. Thankfully he has a dad to stand up for him.
The teacher´s unions have tremendous clout in Md. they get a billion off the top every year for their pension fund. Maryland way overspends for the size state it is.They have one of the highest per capita incomes in the country but are always looking for new angles to pass tax increases. They constantly pass spending bills without paying for them, then a year later they sit there sobbing about how underfunded they are.
Anyway, this law will probably get a lot of opposition in the statehouse, even though it tries to protect a kid´s constitutional rights.Liberal kneejerkism over guns is the root cause of this episode. All this kid did was a form of doodling.
On Tuesday’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer insisted the divide within the Republican Party has been exaggerated, adding that Republicans disagree over strategy but not ideology. “[I] think this whole thing is as you say very much blown up by the liberal media because it’s a great dramatic story,” Krauthammer said. “But here’s the fundamental contradiction. I think this analysis is wrong. It’s fundamentally wrong for this reason: The difference between what are being called the hard right and the moderates, the RINOs and the true believers, is really one
During the online-only portion of Fox News Channel’s “Special Report” on Wednesday night, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer laid out his theory on what Obamacare’s real intended purpose is: an instrument to redistribute wealth. Krauthammer made that claim in his column last week, but he explained how it works in practice to host Bret Baier and co-panelists former New Jersey Superior Court Judge Andrew Napolitano and The Hill associate editor A.B. Stoddard. That panel was presented with a viewer who asked what would happen if an individual couldn’t pay an insurance provider in the event of some
On Tuesday’s broadcast of Hugh Hewitt’s radio show, MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough hammered President Barack Obama for what he called lies during the sales job for his 2010 health care law. Scarborough was asked by Hewitt if he had any idea how many people would ultimately lose their health care coverage because of that law. Scarborough replied by saying many more Americans would be impacted by that law than what then-President George W. Bush had said in his 2003 state of the union speech regarding Iraq trying to procure yellow cake uranium from Niger.
On Wednesday’s edition of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer faced off against left-leaning show anchor Jon Stewart on conservative ideology and the way it is presented. In this rare appearance on Stewart’s program, Krauthammer was promoting his new book, “Things That Matter: Three Decades of Passions, Pastimes, and Politics,” and explained how in working on the book he realized when he had made the transformation from liberal to conservative. STEWART: Thirty years — do you ever look back on some of these writings and think, ‘What was I thinking?’ KRAUTHAMMER: It’s worse than that.
At an event in Birmingham, Ala. Monday night, former Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon Ben Carson revealed that he had received a visit from the Internal Revenue Service following his much-noted remarks at a National Prayer Breakfast earlier this year. “I had my first encounter with the IRS this year, unsurprisingly after the prayer breakfast,” Carson told an audience that at the annual Business Council of Alabama Chairman’s Dinner, according to a report from Cliff Sims of the Montgomery, Ala.-based Yellowhammer News. Carson’s February speech February made him a conservative darling for criticizing President Barack Obama’s 2010 health care reform law
WASHINGTON — Tennessee Republican Sen. Bob Corker called out fellow Republicans Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and Sen. Mike Lee of Utah Thursday, accusing them of delaying a vote on the bill to fund the government and prevent a government shutdown to suit their own desires for publicity. Cruz, earlier this week, held the floor for over 21 hours, speaking in defense of defunding Obamacare with that government funding bill. He asked other Republican senators to join him in voting against moving forward on a bill passed by the House , which would fund the government while defunding Obamacare.
During an interview with conservative talker Laura Ingraham on Tuesday, Sen. Mike Lee defended the much-criticized “defund Obamacare” strategy that he and Sen. Ted Cruz are spearheading. “My job, Laura, is to do everything I can to protect the people from bad law and bad policy, which we have in Obamacare,” Lee said. “I can’t look at this and say because this law is unpopular, because this law is going to be rejected ultimately by the American people as unworkable, and because that could inure to the benefit of the Republican Party, that justifies me in staying
Is this man simply expressing his beliefs or spewing bigotry?Either way, Phil Robertson, the patriarch in A&E´s "Duck Dynasty," won´t be duck calling on air anytime soon. The network suspended him after slamming gays in a magazine interview. In the January issue of GQ, Robertson said homosexuality is a sin and puts it in the same category as bestiality and promiscuity. "It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man´s anus. That´s just me. I´m just thinking: There´s more there! She´s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was hospitalized early Friday morning as a “precaution” after feeling ill, a spokesman said, adding that doctors concluded "everything is normal" after testing. “Early this morning, Senator Reid was not feeling well and as a precaution decided to go to the hospital. Tests have been conducted and everything is normal. He is alert, resting and feeling better,” spokesman Adam Jentleson said in a statement. "Doctors have asked that he remain in the hospital for observation so he will not be working today." The Senate is set to finish its business for the year on Friday.
For a few hours, it looked like Americans would quietly accept the suspension of popular “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson for his unfiltered opinions about sin, sex, gays and blacks in a magazine interview. But then, as if on cue, hundreds of thousands of fans of the openly Christian, duck-hunting businessman took to social networks and started their backlash. As of Thursday night, more than 1.1 million people “liked” the “Stand With Phil Robertson” Facebook page, while about the same number had clicked their support for another Facebook page called “Boycott A&E Until Phil Robertson Is Put Back On Duck
The suspension of Phil Robertson from A&E’s Duck Dynasty is outrageous in a nation that values freedom, according to social critic and openly gay, dissident feminist Camille Paglia. “I speak with authority here, because I was openly gay before the ‘Stonewall rebellion,’ when it cost you something to be so. And I personally feel as a libertarian that people have the right to free thought and free speech,” Paglia, a professor at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, said on Laura Ingraham’s radio show Thursday. “In a democratic country, people have the right to be homophobic as well as they have
The Obama administration Thursday night significantly relaxed the rules of the health-care law for millions of consumers whose individual insurance policies have been canceled, saying they could buy bare-bones health plans or entirely avoid the requirement that most Americans have health insurance. The surprise announcement, four days before the Dec. 23 deadline for people to choose coverage that begins on Jan. 1, triggered an immediate backlash from the health insurance industry and raised new fairness questions about a law intended to promote affordable and comprehensive coverage. “This type of last-minute change will cause tremendous instability in the marketplace and lead
Olympic gold medalist Brian Boitano has announced he is gay. Boitano´s personal news comes two days after the figure skater was named to the official United States 2014 Sochi Olympics delegation by President Obama. "While I am proud to play a public role in representing the American Olympic Delegation as a former Olympic athlete, I have always reserved my private life for my family and friends and will continue to do so," Boitano, 50, said in an official statement. (Snip) Boitano joins tennis player Billie Jean King and Olympic ice hockey bronze medalist Caitlin Cahow as the third openly gay athlete
O ne year removed from re-election, President Obama´s approval rating has sunk to the lowest level of his presidency. Furthermore, Obama´s popularity among the Democratic Party base — whose rejuvenated support proved crucial last November — took a huge hit this past year. Only 54 percent of self-described liberals "very strongly" approve of Obama´s job performance, according to a Pew survey released this week. That´s down from an all-time high of nearly 90 percent, and a significant decline from the 73 percent who strongly approved of the president back in June. Why the steep drop? Well, the first year of Obama´s second term
