| I´m no civil libertarian absolutist, but this disturbing report by Declan McCullagh at C-Net makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end: The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has customized its Predator drones, originally built for overseas military operations, to carry out at-home surveillance tasks that have civil libertarians worried: identifying civilians carrying guns and tracking their cell phones, government documents show. The documents provide more details about the surveillance capabilities

Most major cities already have rotor-wing platforms in the air 24/7. These could just as easily become assault ships. Just as with the gun control issue, the hardware is not the issue. Criminal intent is the issue. The government will always have the citizens outgunned. The answer is to elect defenders of liberty instead of Mooslim Marxist Dictators.

Does this mean that DHS will be sending hellfire missles into the Chrysler 300´s of drug dealers on the streets of our major citys to keep citizens safe? What does the ACLU have to say about that?
Why do I think it only applies to white people who don´t vote Democrat?
If young black men are the ones committing most of the crimes, why do white non-criminals have to register their sporting arms?

Been shouting to any who´ll listen #7 . A drone was used against a rancher last year , by a SHERIFF ( crickets ). DHS has supplied local law enforcement with military grade weapons , including real tanks . GWB built a monster , and now it´s unleashed - on us .

Well, we can wave goodbye to the Fourth Amendment now too. How is this not an illegal search? Mark my words, the random dots are beginning to spell trouble. They say there will be no facial recognition capability but don´t count on it.

Of course the president deserves some of the blame. Yes, it’s extremely unlikely he ordered the IRS to discriminate against tea-party, pro-life, or Jewish groups opposed to his agenda (though why anyone should take his word for it is beyond me). And his outrage now — however convenient — is appreciated. But when people he views as his “enemies” complained about a politicized IRS, what did he do? Nothing. Imagine for a moment if black civil-rights organizations, gay groups, or teachers’ unions loudly complained to members of Congress and the press that the IRS was discriminating against them.
