Howard Kurtz On Fox Showdown:
Keith Ellison ‘Picked The Fight’
While Hannity Was ‘In The Right’

In a DailyDownload clip this afternoon, The Daily Beast’s Howard Kurtz and Lauren Ashburn gave their take on Tuesday night’s explosive Fox News showdown between Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) and Sean Hannity. The two praised Hannity’s handling of the situation and blasted Ellison for acting like he did. “This guy came on his show and then tried to filibuster it by yelling at him, saying ‘You’re a terrible journalist,’ ‘You’re the worst journalist,’ ‘You’re a Republican,’ ‘You’re awful,’” Ashburn said of the debate. Kurtz then offered his assessment: “The congressman picked the fight.

Comments:
Wow. How amazing they actually defended Hannity. That was just normal behavior for the obnoxious, disgusting Ellison. Imagine having to be in congress and try to work with someone like him. That´s why nothing gets done and they blame it all on Republicans.

I´ve seen Ellison do this another time. He just doesn´t shut up. Obnoxious. He doesn´t appear to be a very smart guy.

Hannity sliced and diced the moron Ellison! This is the caliber of person that the low brain voter continues to put into office...it is shameful!

Ellison must feel inadequate, inferior, defensive and nervous around white men.

And we´re not allowed to say that Ellison´s problem is genetic.

Isn´t the more important question why is the media so important in politics ?

You can´t get politicians to stand up for US in front of a camera, but give them air time for themselves and they continually make a fool of themselves.

I believe Ellison did it to juice his reputation with his low information voters.

I tried to put some quotes in that the "distinguished" Congressman Ellison called his opponent last fall (who had spent 21 years in the Marines, serving two tours of duty in Iraq), but the automatic censors at Lucianne wouldn´t allow it. That´s understandable. Google for yourself and see what type of language this "civil servant" used against someone who dared to challenge him.

Reply 11 - Posted by: Philipsonh, 2/27/2013 11:38:02 PM     (No. 9200118)

The problem with Mr Ellison is that Mr Hannity
has ALWAYS stated exactly what he is and is not. He is NOT a journalist and never pretends to be. He is NOT a Republican and never pretends to be. He is a CONSERVATIVE and a talk show host. I hope that Mr Ellison knows more about what he votes on than he does about Mr Hannity. But I expect he does not.

Ellison is EXACTLY what liberals are today, and behaved EXACTLY how liberals behave.

They are spoiled, obnoxious, petulant brats. They only learn one way. If they´re 2 years old--a hearty swat on the backside. If they´re 32 years old-a sock in the jaw.

As Rush has been saying "Why are the liberals so mad"? They´ve won the election, they have the media kissing their butts, they´ve been able to allow the democrat voters vote more than once for them, they´ve spent us into debt by wasting money and padding their pockets at the same time...

Maybe their gig is up? I don´t know.

Ellison is an ass.

Makes one stop and wonder what our country is coming to when someone like Ellison can be elected as a representative. Is the majority of people in his district like him? If so, Lord help us. I remember being very concerned when I heard he was first elected (him being a muzzie).

Minnesota has a habit of electing whack jobs to represent them. A wrestler, a comedian, now this lunatic. I see a disturbing pattern here. Maybe some Minnesotans need to come out of the woods and read a newspaper once in a while.

I thin I´ll take a very long detour rather than chance driving through the district that elected Ellison. That must be a very weird place indeed.

Ellison showed all the maturity of a teenybopper in an argument with her dad! Quite a stark reflection of the mentality of his Lo Fo constituency of dumbed-down, Media-influenced, spoon-fed, self-absorbed, celebrity-obsessed, Kool-Aid drinking, uninformed, dysfunctional plantation bobble-heads and government-dependant federal teat-sucking parasites.

Someone should ask Mr. Ellison, a Muslim, what his view on homosexuality is. His reply should either get him kicked out of the Democrat Party or tick off his Muslim buds.

Reply 24 - Posted by: Me?Opinionated?Nah!, 2/28/2013 7:47:40 AM     (No. 9200436)

I watched Ellison do his imitation of a cranky, overtired, probably wet and in need of having his diaper changed toddler in real time on Sean Hannity’s program Tuesday night. On one hand, I enjoyed observing the manner in which a “Progressive” makes his leftist case for all the world to see. On the other hand, Hannity was much much much too polite and gentlemanly and tolerant with his utterly pathetic “guest.” Ellison is typical of what so many liberals possess in the way of logical, reasoned thinking. They possess none whatsoever.

Reply 25 - Posted by: feet2fire, 2/28/2013 7:49:13 AM     (No. 9200437)

Saw the interview as it unfolded on TV. My first reaction was that Hannity should pull the plug on the Congressman´s microphone, since Mr. Ellison was obviously unable to engage in any sort of intelligent exchange. Then I realized Hannity was right to let the guy scream, yell, insult, (and be just plain wrong) and allow the viewers to see what type of people are representing some districts in Congress.

Reply 26 - Posted by: Grace Veritas, 2/28/2013 8:01:21 AM     (No. 9200456)

I´m with #7. Ellison did nothing but help himself with his lofo voters. It doesn´t matter how it plays outside his district. All that counts is that he was giving a wealthy white Republican (as they see it) hell. Far from being a liability, Ellison could use the video in campaign ads.

Reply 27 - Posted by: ScarletPimpernel, 2/28/2013 8:36:55 AM     (No. 9200526)

I keep wondering why Hannity brings Ellison and his ilk onto the show. Is it dictated by FOX? It is very tiresome.

His was a pathetic display of the kind childish behavior we expect from a three year old when he is told he can´t have a cookie. If progs couldn´t FEEL, they wouldn´t have an opinion at all.

Poster # 36 we understand that all too well. I saw this exchange on Fox yesterday and on my way to work this morning the local talkshow host played it. Ellison is your typical liberal democrat politician. Loud, rude, combative, and not too bright. Hannity handed this nutcase the rope and he hung himself perfectly. Democrackheads like Ellison cannot deal with the truth and when confronted with someone who won´t back down and calls them on their B S they get all flustered. You people from Minnesota should feel so proud that you have the first Muslim(nutcase) representing your state. But then again you guys elected fellow IQ standard bearers like Ventura, Frankin, and Dayton so that doesn´t say much does it.

After many years of observation I have come up with one innutable fact. And that is theat liberals, everyone of them, will always cut in, talk over, yell at the top of their voice etc. any time they get into a discussion with a conservative. Happens every time and doesn´t matter who it is or where it´s at. I think it´s in their DNA. Any when the conservative just stops out of coustsey or just tired of hearing them, the libs will believe that they have won the "debate".

Agreed Ellison is a donkey´s duff. Then why is he invited on the program by Hannity, hardly the brightest bulb? Because all the gnashing, ranting and screeching is about ratings. Yet many continue to get their daily ration of ´truth´ from FOX. Truly sad.

1. Who´s this "Ellison" guy? If he´s the Muslim House member who insisted he be sworn-in on a Koran, and who has used a "Muslim" name, when did he change back? Further, if you know Islam, you know Muslims are required, not simply "encouraged," to lie in advancing Islam.

2. "Ellison" is cheek-by-jowl with CAIR and MAS, the "Muslim American Society." In other parts of the world, the MAS is called the Muslim Brotherhood. MAS is a cover. As is CAIR.

3. I´m quite confident that in his heart, "Ellison" sees himself as "representing" the interests of Islam, not of American citizens. Priorities of colonization, y´know.

3. Hannity did a really poor job being a dhimmi. He´s on somebody´s list now.

Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
