| The Oscar-winning tale “Argo” contains a movie within the movie. Comparisons to Shakespeare’s Hamlet — or anything worth remembering, for that matter — certainly end there. So, it was altogether fitting that first lady Michelle Obama horned her way into the insufferable ceremony to award the night’s most coveted honor to the hostage thriller. After all, she knows something about hostage-takers and their diabolical demands. She sleeps with the most daring and nihilistic of them all. Washington breathlessly watches the dramatic countdown to the coming “sequester” cuts. For many around here, the apocalypse is upon us.

The popularity of Obamacare has crashed to its lowest level in nearly two years, according to a new Kaiser Family Foundation poll. Kaiser´s monthly tracking poll found that just 35 percent have a favorable view of the health reform being put into place Jan. 1 while 43 percent view it unfavorably. The favorability rating of Obamacare has been worse only once, in October 2011, when it fell to 34 percent. New technology would allow cable companies to peer directly into television watchers´ homes and monitor viewing habits and reactions to product advertisements. HOUSTON — A Houston man is accused of threatening to kidnap, murder and burn U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and his father and also to “blow up” the sun if he wasn’t paid $3 million. Nick Gates was being held Tuesday in the Harris County jail on a $10,000 bond. He’s charged with making a terroristic threat. A $509,840 grant by the National Institutes of Health will pay for a study that will send text messages in "gay lingo" to methamphetamine addicts to try to persuade them to use fewer drugs and more condoms. The study began in February. Lead researcher Dr. Cathy Reback of the Baltimore-based Friends Research Institute, Inc., told CNSNews.com how she and her team of health educators will spend the next four years and over half a million dollars encouraging gay meth addicts to cut down on unprotected sex by periodically sending them “gay-specific” text messages.

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.
