John F. Kennedy´s only grandson, 20-year-old Jack Schlossberg, is training to become a first responder, according to friends at Yale University. ´Jack sees this training as a way to give back to the New Haven community that he’s living in,´ a friend of Jack´s told the New York Post. The source, who said he bonded with Schlossberg when they were summer interns for Sen. John Kerry a couple years ago, asked to remain anonymous. ´Jack’s very aware of all the privileges and opportunities that come with his family, so his EMT training has a lot to do with

It would constitute criminal negligence to give any Kennedy access to Meds cabinet.

Don´t do it.

The Schlossbergs seem to be made of sterner stuff than the average Kennedy and I don´t think it´s a gambit to get drugs.

While my antennae go up at this kid´s talk of ´giving back to the community´ which is one step away from ´public service,´ I wish the kid well, he has chosen an honorable profession.

He´ll be quite useful at family gatherings -- driving cars off bridges with women inside drowning, rape investigations, running into ski lifts, flying planes into the water, DUI testing...

Good for him. May I suggest journalists retire the "way to give back" phrase? Barf. There is nothing wrong with going into the field because you find it interesting and useful. Plus, good employment prospects.

Darn - I thought he was going to stick with it but....

FTA: While Schlossberg will surely pass his EMT classes and earn his certification, it´s unlikely that he will settle on a career in that line of work. His future will almost definitely involve politics.

Born and raised in New Haven and worked in the big ER there. Those EMS guys are busy catering to the large knife and gun club that surrounds the university. Jack will be exposed to the REAL world of the population democrats claim to support, and it´s not pretty. Have a ball Jack, you will soon have stories that you will tell for the rest of your life!

A Kennedy with a real job rather than being a political parasite. That would be refreshing.

EL PASO, Texas- Questions about affairs, death and murder were all part of a fourth-grade reading assignment at Pasodale Elementary in the Lower Valley. One woman who did not want to show her face on camera told KFOX14 her son brought the assignment home because he was attending another tutoring session when his teacher passed it out. She is concerned other students completed the questions in class, so other parents could not stop them from reading it. "How is she grading it? Is she reading it? I don´t understand that," Ursula Garcia said. Garcia has a daughter in the same

For more than 30 years, Hustler’s flamboyant publisher Larry Flynt has continued to send the monthly magazine to every member of Congress. Since 1983, Hustler has sent the porno mags in plain manila envelopes to every Congressional office as Mr. Flynt’s unique way of petitioning the government, National Journal reported. Congress tried in 1984 to stop the unwanted porn subscription, but the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled two years later that the delivery of the magazine could not be stopped under the First Amendment. “Receiving Hustler once each month would not unduly burden a Member of Congress,”

President Obama said Thursday more than 8 million Americans selected a private health plan through his signature health overhaul, topping the most recent tally by a half-million people and offering the president an opportunity to blast Republicans for criticizing his efforts. “This thing is working,” he said, cautioning his law will not solve everything that ails the country’s health care system. He then openly criticized GOP lawmakers for trying to repeal his law. “They still can’t bring themselves to admit that the Affordable Care Act is working,” he said. Republicans say Mr. Obama’s enthusiasm is fleeting, because a portion of Americans

Sen. John Cornyn (R., Texas) is demanding answers from Attorney General Eric Holder on the Justice Department’s pursuit of “smart gun” technology, warning that the government could require all gun owners to wear biometric bracelets to operate their firearms. Cornyn sent a letter to the attorney general on Wednesday in response to remarks he made in testimony before a House subcommittee earlier this month, which were first reported by the Washington Free Beacon. Holder said his agency is “exploring” technology to make guns “more safe.” “By making them either through finger print identification, the gun talks to a bracelet or

An army of NYPD cops on Thursday evicted a homeless man from his Manhattan Bridge “home” — which was complete with a gas heater, hot sauce and beer. A dozen officers from both the 5th and 84th Precincts plus four Emergency Service Unit cops launched the raid about 9:50 a.m. A DOT worker on a ladder first used bolt cutters to remove a red bicycle lock on the wooden structure — which turned out to be fully insulated with Styrofoam and a large tarp. “Police department! Police department!” cops yelled, but got no reply, so ESU officers used a saw

NATO announced Wednesday that it is enhancing its military footprint on its eastern flank, and the alliance’s top military commander in Europe hinted that in light of Russia’s recent aggression, it is “important that we take a pause and determine what is appropriate for [the size of] U.S. forces in Europe.” The number of U.S. troops in Europe has dropped dramatically since the Soviet Union collapsed. More recently, the Obama administration has touted its “pivot” to Asia. Supreme Allied Commander Europe Gen. Philip Breedlove, a U.S. Air Force general, was asked if the number of U.S. forces stationed in Europe should

With total student loans exceeding $1 trillion, one must ask “is the tassel worth the financial hassle” when it comes to spending for prestigious colleges. Here’s my rough rule of thumb for taking on student loan debt: “Think long and hard about taking on more in total student loans than you expect to earn, on average, in your first 10 years after graduating.” That’s a mouthful so let me put some numbers on it. If you expect your average annual income over the first 10 years you are out of school to be $50,000, be really, really careful about taking

Like him or hate him, there is no disputing that Rush Limbaugh’s very special brand of mixing right-wing politics with his flare for entertainment has produced one of the most successful radio programs in the medium’s long history. Whatever the burning political question of the day, millions of Americans have relished the opportunity to tune into Rush’s program, knowing that he would quickly take that hot potato, throw a few gallons of verbal kerosene into the mix and elevate the matter into a five alarm fire with a just a few well-chosen words spoken in the style only Rush Limbaugh could

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." After expressing how impressed he was with the tribute, he said somberly, "let me say to those ´quote survivors,´ my God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth it. I mean this sincerely - just to hear each of you speak. You´re truly, truly inspiring." The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, "I´ve never heard anything so beautiful than

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

I live in Las Vegas. I live and breath Nevada politics. Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in the Nevada desert. And Senator Harry Reid’s fingerprints are all over it. I am of course referring to the Bundy Ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the BLM (Bureayu of Land Management). The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No
