| The parents of a 9/11 victim have hit out at the makers of Zero dark Thirty for using their son´s ´sacred´ last words to them in the movie without their permission. The beginning of the movie - which has made more than $90million--features actual voices of some of the 3,000 innocent civilians who perished on that fateful day as they made their last calls to loved ones or emergency services. For Mary and Frank Fetchet, the movie brings back painful memories, as one of the voices belongs to their son Brad--his last words to them

´My first thought was, "Isn´t anything sacred any more?".´
If they had wanted their son´s last words to be "sacred" they should have kept them to themselves. Making them "public record" puts those very personal moments out in the world.
It´s like people who willingly leave their cats or dogs out without restraints and are mortified that their beloved pet gets run over by a car.
I know that if my wife and I wanted to keep our son´s last words private, we would have KEPT them private.
Does this sound harsh? I don´t know. All I know is that my private, "sacred" moments are kept private.

Mary Fetchet was on every cable TV station blamng President Bush for 9/11.
She never once blamed the terrorists,it was always Bush´s fault.
Evidently she´s been coached by the O cabal to make this attack.
Pity, that she exploits her son´s death for political gain.
He didn´t deserve this.

In both cases the producer could have hired actors to go into a studio and record their own versions of the clips.
There was no need for them to use the actual recordings except that they were just too darned busy and wanted to save a few bucks.

Maybe I missed something, but is this woman wanting money? Maybe she should sue the mooslims that hit the towers. Never will forget that day and the hatred and horror I felt for the miserable wretches that flew the planes.

Take every dime they and all their relatives have or will have for one hundred years. Harsh? Nothing is too harsh for Hollywood scum.

I do not know the specific facts surrounding the publications of these tapes, but if these tapes were used in a public fourm/situation...shared with news report(ers), with the consent or support of the families or survivors - the tapes are apart of the public domain.
And, if such tapes were used as evidence in a public trial of which was not sealed...again, public domain.
However, I do agree with the distaste of the creators, directors and producers of incorporating the actual voices in a commercial production (as opposed to a real documentary).
Unfortunately, legal recourse is highly unlikely. However, a substantial and public monetary donation to a charity RE: 9/11 would create enormous good will.
At the same time, a growing number of the population in the US is growing weary of the constant financial hand outs sought by the families that have been paid and keep getting paid for something that occurred 13 years ago by people that have nothing to do with the US and by no fault of the US.
If anything, the film keeps alive the very serious threat of terrorism that still threatens all of us daily. The film actually resurrected memories of those specific people who died that day and should be remembered so that it does not occur again.

I don´t sympathize with the family, yet the producers were sloppy if they didn´t run all this down and fix it ahead of time. They could have gotten an OK or used an alternate sound snippet from a more willing family.

It was a necessary beginning of the movie. It reminded everyone what it is all about. 3000 innocent Americans murdered by Islamic terrorists. The actual voices of people just like you and me, caught by circumstance in an unimaginable horror. These parents and relatives are pursuing a political agenda for publicity purposes. It´s a noble movie made with noble intentions. Would that many in Congress and the media would listen to those voices, or watch the videos of people leaping to their deaths to remember why we fight and who we fight.

The Metropolitan Police has defended the way it responded to reports of the killing in Woolwich, south London, after questions were raised about how long it took officers to reach the scene. The force said police were there within nine minutes of the first emergency call and firearms officers were at the scene five minutes after that. Mayor Boris Johnson was heckled when he visited the area. BBC London´s Home Affairs Correspondent Guy Smith spoke with Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley, former Metropolitan Police Commander John O´Connor and Roger Gray, a former firearms officer.

HANAHAN--The U.S. Naval Brig is once again being mentioned as a leading alternative to put terror detainees on trial after President Barack Obama this week rekindled his push to shut down the terror-suspect holding site at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. “I once again call on Congress to lift the restrictions on detainee transfers from Gitmo,” he said. “I have asked the Department of Defense to designate a site in the United States where we can hold military commissions.” Speculation immediately re-focused on the brig at Charleston as a leading choice where some of the 166 detainees could go on trial.

Proudly marching through the streets of York with cheers ringing in their ears, the men and women of 2nd Signal Regiment--recently returned from Afghanistan--were greeted by thousands of people lining the streets to welcome them home. In the hours after the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby by alleged Islamist terrorists in Woolwich, south-east London, on Wednesday, the Ministry of Defence had advised servicemen and women not to go out in uniform--an order that was promptly ignored by soldiers who refused to be cowed and almost immediately rescinded. 300 members of the Armed Forces were cheered by well-wishers who waved

People taking statins face an increased risk of developing diabetes, warn researchers. They found a 10 percent extra risk linked to taking simvastatin--the most commonly prescribed anti-cholesterol drug--which rose to 22 percent for those taking atorvastatin. Previous research into a suspected link with statins found a 9 percent rise in the chance of patients developing diabetes, but the new study looked at specific brands of drug. [Snip] Researchers identified 471,250 patients with no history of diabetes and who were newly treated with a statin, just over half were women and all were at least 66 years old. Statin therapy

The September 11 attacks on America was by no means the first act of terrorism carried out in the name of Islam. The 1993 World Trade Center bombings killed six, while the 1998 US embassy bombings of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya, left 223 people dead. However, the scale, horror and repercussions of 9/11--2,996 people dead, the World Trade Center destroyed and the Pentagon attacked--set it apart as a seminal moment that changed the course of history. [Snip] Subsequently, Islamist terrorists attacked Madrid in 2004, London in 2005 and Mumbai in 2008, among many other lethal and devastating

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.
