| Rick Perry won’t even entertain the notion that Texas will ever again elect a Democrat in a statewide political contest. “The biggest pipe dream I have ever heard,” he told the Wall Street Journal this past weekend. Well, Democrats beg to differ. And they’re launching a new group today determined to make Perry’s “pipe dream” into every Republican’s worst political nightmare. The new Democratic organization, called “Battleground Texas,” is designed to make Texas a politically competitive state by reaching out to Texas women and mobilizing Latino, African American and other minority voters

I don´t blame them for trying, but this won´t be a quick or easy success, maybe a long-term futile effort.

You have to give them credit for following the Democrat playbook. Divide the population by ethnic and gender boundaries and then convince them that the evil white man is trying to exploit them.

Just another scam aimed at low info Texas dims: Get big lib money from a big state, promise you´re gonna spend it in Texas, but spend it anywhere but Texas, where it would be wasted. I almost feel sorry for the poor dears... well, not really.

This can happen if the Republicans are cocky. More and more people are moving to Texas. Amongst them are leftists who don´t get the irony of moving to a red state to find jobs because all the socialist programs they voted for in their blue state destroyed the economy and launched an exodus of employers. Those idiots will continue to vote for socialist policies.
Also, there´s the cheating. Dems will lie, cheat and steal their way to the statehouse and the governor´s mansion. Don´t say "never". It could definitely happen.

Texas and Arizona, both will shift to Democratic states in the next 10 years without changes in the Republicans. After that will come Georgia.

I would not be too dismissive of this. If LoFo queens like Sheila Jackson-Lee can be voted in Texas, it can happen.

Like most liberal leftists, they are eager to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs. Texans who know that truth need to remain vigilant and keep an eye on all the "refugees" coming here from blue states lest they vote us into the same economic sewers (California, Illinois, NY, etc) they are fleeing.

In 20 years, the demographics might play into their hands, but it won´t happen soon!
Texas is the buckle of the Bible Belt. The social conservatives rule, and that is not going to change quickly. The current trend to run away from social issues won´t work as long as there are God-fearing freedom-loving anti-big government people voting.

TO put it simply, Democrat hopes in Texas depend on getting illegal aliens to vote. (since black voters already vote 95% dem, nothing to be gained there)
Which explains the Dem party position on amnesty.

Pride goeth before a fall. We Texans best remember that. A lot of the changes in our state were once predicted to "never happen , no way." They did happen. Best to work as hard as we can and make sure that we get rid of ANY elected Pubbies who are just taking up an R parking space. We will need more Ted Cruz types. God bless Texas.

The Dims have been hiding their secret weapon...the IAF, Metro Alliance and COPS in San Antonio.
These useful idiot rounder-uppers have been successful in creating a cesspool in San Antonio where they gang vote for Dims.
If this is unchecked, they will eventually take over! The ratio of stupid people to smart people is not in OUR favor...and the takers are so greedy they join just to get more help getting freebees.

If we get serious about the amount of voter fraud in Texas, democrats can spend as much money as they want to. It will have no effect. We can start flushing out the voter fraud in Sheila´s district. It is rampant.
There are numerous instances of 5-6 registered voters living in a 1 bedroom house that has an 85 year old woman living there, by herself.

Why do you think that the liberal Democrats are pushing what they call a special path to citizenship amnesty for the 11 to 20 million illegal aliens here now? Because in the years ahead all those legalized aliens would eventually be granted US voting rights.
Since the vast majority of illegal aliens and their family members are poor generally uneducated low skilled low wage earners there is no doubt that the vast majority of them would become liberal Democrat voters.
Of course if the Republicans cave on such an amnesty, they will also benefit, as their share of the so-called Hispanic vote will probably raise from about 27% to about 32%, now pit that against 10 million or more new liberal Democrat voters.
With that many new voters the liberal Democrats will be able to easily flip states like Arizona, Florida, Georgia, and Texas into the Democrat column. Then it will be all down hill to political oblivion for the wimpy Republicans. All you have to do is look at the numbers!

These are historic and troubling times. The unprecedented and brazen efforts by high-ranking elements within the Obama administration to silence whistleblowers and intimidate any reporters that would speak with them have starkly framed the choice the political press now faces. The administration has thrown the gauntlet down before the media with their display of abject disregard for the watchdog Fourth Estate. To the White House’s chagrin, the media will respond. In a two-fold assault on the freedom of the press, President Barack Obama’s Department of Justice has been implicated in efforts designed to intimidate both the press and

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department says it hasn´t prosecuted journalists for obtaining or publishing classified information and has no plans to. But open government and journalism advocates say the aggressive investigations of classified leaks by government officials under the Obama administration´s watch are having a chilling effect on news organizations´ ability to play a watchdog role. The renewed criticism of the Obama administration comes after new revelations that federal authorities secretly obtained the e-mails and tracked the movements of Fox News reporter James Rosen

The Senate Judiciary Committee’s passage of a sweeping immigration bill was expected. But the explosion of chants of “Yes we can! Yes we can!” and “Leahy! Leahy!” came as a surprise. The “Gang of Eight” bill passed by a wide 13-5 margin early Tuesday evening. Amid the cheering, Democratic committee chairman Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont could be seen motioning spectators to come up and participate in the celebration. The “Yes we can” chant was made popular by then-Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama in his 2008 presidential run.

The White House’s explanation of what it knew about the investigation into the IRS’s scrutiny of conservative political groups and how it planned for the eventual release of that information shifted once again Tuesday. Just a day after telling reporters that chief of staff Denis McDonough and other senior White House staff learned of the situation nearly a month ago, press secretary Jay Carney revealed Tuesday that White House officials had consulted with the Treasury Department on how to make the findings public.(Snip) Carney said he hadn’t revealed more information about which officials

Douglas Shulman, the former commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, said today he was “dismayed and saddened” that his agency had improperly targeting conservative groups, but declined to offer a direct apology and dismissed suggestions that he mislead Congress. The testimony from Shulman, who was making his first public appearance since the IRS controversy broke into the open two weeks ago, did not satisfy members of the Senate Finance Committee. He faced more than three hours of stern questioning from Democrats and Republicans, but said “I don’t believe I was aware” when asked

For a "failed scandal," Fast and Furious sure brought out the heavy hitters at the Department of Justice to deal with a whistleblower. The department´s inspector general has released a report accusing one US attorney, Dennis Burke, of leaking a document that smeared John Dodson, a key witness in the Fast and Furious scandal, and accusing other officials in the department of coming up with a strategy to discredit him. Breitbart: The DOJ IG said it found "Burke´s conduct in disclosing the Dodson memorandum to be inappropriate for a Department employee and wholly unbefitting a U.S. Attorney."

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care
