| Rome - Italy´s general election produced a stalemate, with Pier Luigi Bersani´s centre-left alliance failing to win a working majority in parliament and ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi´s centre right saying the vote should be declared "too close to call". Bersani´s alliance looked set to come first in the contests for the both the Senate and the Lower House, with almost all the votes counted early on Tuesday, although the difference with respect to the centre right was less than 1% in both cases. (Snip) But neither of the two biggest coalitions was close to the 158 seats needed in the Senate

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have reversed their longstanding membership guidelines to allow homosexuals to join the organization. In an email to CNSNews.com, the BSA public affairs office said the vote on the resolution to “remove the restriction denying membership to youth on the basis of sexual orientation alone” was passed with 61.44 percent in favor and 38.56 percent opposed. “For 103 years, the Boy Scouts of America has been a part of the fabric of this nation, with a focus on working together to deliver the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training,”

Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails. If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.
