In response to Finke: Michelle at Oscars ´unnecessary and inappropriate´: According to Clear Channel’s Steven Gregory on Twitter: Obama fatigue - it´s not just for righties anymore. Also, this morning it´s being reported that the Michelle Obama hijack, last night, was part of a failed effort on the part of Harvey Weinstein to get Hollywood´s Obama voters to vote for Silver Linings Playbook for Best Picture. Naked DC has that story. The Academy told US Weekly that they approached the First Lady for a part in the annual telecast, but that’s not the whole story.

Funny, I heard loud groans at my house, too. The only reason we watched was because my wife´s cousin was up for an award (he didn´t win). His category was next to last to be awarded before best actor and actress, so we had to tough it out to the bitter end (ugh).

So glad I didn´t watch Oscars. Not reading any of the many articles about her "presentation". Laughing about the Iran photoshop covering her arms and chest. For the first time in my life, I am with Iran - a little of her is too much.

It frost´s me that all those ´background´ MIlitary people had to report to the White House in their Military Mess Dress uniforms after hours just to stand there while Michelle played ´Hollywood" and opened an envelope for the Oscars program...Is that respecting our Military or showing everyone that she too has them at her beck and call...They probably had to turn in any awards like medals that had sharp points or pins that might be used as ´weapons´ against who I wonder...

Since Mrs. Obama has never been a part of the motion picture industry, has never been a member of the academy, and has never been awarded an Oscar, by the academy rules and traditions, it does not appear that she should have been invited to present the best picture Oscar.

They were probably thinking that the movie Lincoln was going to win, if that happened, you can bet that Barack Obama and his teleprompter would have made an immediate entrance and delivered a canned speech. But then again, what if there had been a movie ending and the black-balled movie Zero Dark Thirty had won, with all its water boarding connotations out there. No doubt there would have been a hasty Obama retreat.

Aol´s live blogging with James Lipton was a great way to ´watch´ the Oscars yesterday. All the fun stuff without the crappola from the host, etc. And Lipton did not mention Michelle at all, only talked about Jack Nicholson. Found out about Michelle only after going online today. She has enough nerve for 10 people and doesn´t have enough clue for anyone. I think the fall is coming and the Obamas do not see it coming.

And Weinstein hired Stephanie Cutter, the Obama´s campaign "genius" (yeah, right) to lobby the Academy voters on behalf of his movie.

Can we use the term O-ho?

#5 the military were probably at the White House to serve Hors d´oeuvres to all the guests at their dinner for the Governors. So they were convenient to use as props for Michelle´s big night at the Oscars.

As more information about the IRS scandal trickles out daily, the White House’s involvement is becoming clearer. Those of us who’ve been warning about the demise of freedom with Barack Obama’s efforts to “fundamentally transform” our great nation are about to witness some sad vindication. Will awakened Americans finally join us in saying “enough is enough”? The president would like us to believe that he only learned about the IRS corruption from watching the news.

With the IRS scandal, the Benghazi scandal, and the AP scandal, it is almost time for educated, intelligent people to start wondering just what President Obama meant when he promised in 2008 to heal the nation´s partisan divide. Everybody knows that conservatives are haters and homophobes. But still, healers don´t use the IRS to intimidate Tea Party ladies trying to enter into the public square. We are talking about an administration with a Culture of Intimidation, according to senior Republican officeholders -- and presumably the folks in their focus groups agree.

On the rainy night of February 26, 2012, neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman shot and killed an unarmed seventeen-year-old named Trayvon Martin. Three months later, a regular at the Conservative Treehouse blog known as Diwataman discovered the raw video of Martin´s visit to the 7-11 that fateful night and initiated arguably the best bit of blogging detective work since the busting of Dan Rather´s Air National Guard scam eight years earlier. "I think Trayvon may know these three guys," Diwataman commented in reference to a trio of hooded young men who entered the store almost immediately after Martin left.

Joseph Stalin had been General Secretary of the Soviet Communist Party for six years in 1928, when John Dewey, "the father of modern education," toured Russia with a group of educators. Later that year, The New Republic published Dewey´s Impressions of Soviet Russia and the revolutionary world. This polemic stands as a remarkable testament to progressivism´s disdain for mankind, reason, and truth. It is also Dewey´s most honest and concise primer on the principles of his progressive education method. Anyone prepared to defend the idea of government-controlled schooling after reading this work is perhaps beyond reach of rational argument.

Junk Science: Despite no evidence that devastating tornadoes have increased in frequency or intensity due to fossil fuel use, another warm-monger blames the Moore, Okla., disaster on GOP "polluters and deniers." Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., thought the devastation of Moore was a crisis that should not be wasted as he took to the Senate floor Monday to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic (man-caused) global warming (known by its acronym, AGW). WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.

U.S. Sen. John McCain bucked the party line coming from many of his fellow conservatives this morning, saying suggestions that compare the trio of scandals gripping the White House to Watergate are “overreaching.” “I think it’s overreaching. We need a full and complete investigation and then we will decide the dimensions of it,” said McCain while campaigning for Republican Senate candidate Gabriel Gomez in Dorchester. “It is terrible but we have to have a full investigation before we leap to conclusions.” The maverick’s caution is a sharp contrast to the response of many Republicans
