| Ikea has withdrawn a batch meatballs from sale in its British stores after they were found to contain with horse meat. The Czech state veterinary administration found the contamination in 1kg (2.2lb) packs of frozen meatballs, which are sold in Ikea stores around the world. Ikea said it is taken the result "seriously" and is removing the meatballs from sale in countries across Europe. The inspectors took samples for DNA tests in the city of Brno from a product labelled as "beef and pork meatballs", the statement said. A total of 760kg (1,672lb) of the meatballs were stopped

Other than a persons psychological aversion to horse meat, I do not see the problem. It is certainly tastier than tofu.

Way back when I was vacationing in Europe it was not unusual to see horse meat butcher shops.
Given that most of the cattle were killed due to Mad Cow disease is it any wonder that horses have been slaughtered for food.
The hysteria is mindboggling.

A shooting as the Warriors game let out Thursday night left two fans dead - the driver of a Porsche was killed by bullets and the passenger was killed as he staggered out onto Interstate 880 in Oakland. Now, police are turning to Warriors fans and nearby surveillance video from the O.co Coliseum for help in finding the killers. Two Metro-North Railroad trains collided after a derailment near Fairfield, Conn., at the height of the evening rush on Friday, injuring 60 people, 5 of them critically, and snarling transit corridors in the Northeast, the authorities said. WASHINGTON - The number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits climbed last week at the fastest pace in six months, a worrisome sign for the economy which has been hit by government austerity. Initial claims for state unemployment benefits jumped by 32,000 to a seasonally adjusted 360,000, the Labor Department said on Thursday.
