| An excruciating irony of Obamacare is that its architects modeled many of its features after the UK’s National Health Service. The NHS is a classic system of socialized medicine, and a monumental failure by any objective standard. (Snip) The Brits were so desperate to fix their crumbling health care system, they experimented with the private market and it is outperforming government-run health care without breaking a sweat. (Snip) We are implementing Obamacare when the UK has shown that government-run health care does not work and is beginning to move away from it. What is wrong with this picture?

ObamaCare was never about providing Health Care, it is about the consolidation of Power into Washington, D.C!

Obama & Dems could care less about quality, costs and innovation required for great health care. Rather, nationalizing health care accomplished three long sought socialist objectives:
A. Leveling living standards. We´re all in the same forlorn hospital room now. And, its not even a semi-private room. B. Making voters more dependent on government.
C. Providing another massive corruption tool. See last Friday´s articles on the $340 million interest free loan given to a long-time leftist friend of Obama.

Obamacare is so bad that the Democrats that voted for it made sure it didn´t apply to them. Why the Democrats aren´t aren´t being tar and feathered and run out of town for this despicable legislation destroying the greatest healthcare system in the world shows how effective the msm propaganda has been.

This article provides next to nothing in actual information and I´m afraid it is nothing more than a prescription for outsourcing while maintaining the NHS single payer model. More details required.

While an expat in Scotland, I had one child voa tje NHS method. What a nightmare - the midwives were totally incompetent.
When I had the second child, I planned on going back to the states for delivery but then I found BUPA and a private OBGYN (He cost us $400 for his 9 months of care + the hospital care in a private bed - what a difference. (It was almost like my first delivery in the US - without the Chippendale furnished labor room with the TV!)
I suspect that this is the second tier of privatized health care that the author is talking about.

It´s surprising to me that many still express disbelief at the destructive effects of obama´s policies.
There are none so blind as those who will not see.
When all is written and done, it is obvious that obama´s intention is to destroy the wealth, prosperity, and opportunities for the masses, while shielding himself and his fellow ruling elites from the effects of these destructive policies.

I totally agree #7! The vast majority of Americans still think it´s going to be business as usual. What´s more, when reality hits, they´ll still be making excuses for the political elite.

WASHINGTON — Democratic Rep. Gerry Connolly refuses to use the word “scandal.” After two weeks of brutal news cycles — with frenzied Republicans and a hyped up press corps aggressively covering every inch of three controversies surrounding the Obama administration — Connolly insists this too, shall pass. “I think when the media repeats the word ‘scandals’ you are repeating partisan lines. They are issues that have occurred that have to be addressed. I don’t think they rise to the level of a scandal,” he said. “We had a bunch of idiots at IRS

In 1987, on the evening of her third general election victory as leader of the Conservative Party, the late and great Margaret Thatcher gave a speech before her constituents in the district of Finchley. It was mostly boilerplate stuff—thanking the voters, praising the poll watchers. But there was also something distinctly un-American going on: the address was constantly being interrupted by hecklers. Every time jeers broke out, Thatcher would smile, durable and unflappable, until quiet was restored. This is how politics works in Britain, where it’s expected that the nation’s leader can handle an occasional boo or insult.

With the New Jersey governor´s race looking like a cakewalk for Chris Christie (at least for now), and with New York´s crime problem under control (removing much of the impetus for a Republican mayor), all eyes are on the Virginia gubernatorial race as the premier political contest in 2013. Republicans selected their political slate over the weekend at a convention, settling upon Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli as their gubernatorial candidate, E.W. Jackson as their pick for lieutenant governor, and state Sen. Mark Obenshain as their choice for attorney general.

Like plaids with stripes, federal employees wrapped in the Fifth Amendment don’t look good. We all have the right to wear clothes that clash, and all in this country have the right not to provide testimony that could be used against them. But when federal workers invoke that right, as Lois Lerner did at a House hearing Wednesday, it comes at a cost. A public servant who refuses to answer questions from Congress about the public’s business clashes with the public’s expectations. By asserting her right, Lerner further undermined the credibility of her employer, the Internal Revenue Service,

"If you refuse to answer, you will leave us no choice but to ask for a special counsel or the appointment of a special prosecutor to get to the bottom of this. I hope that´s not the approach of the IRS going forward, because there will be hell to pay." — U.S. Rep. Stephen Lynch, D-Mass., to IRS officials appearing Wednesday before a House investigative committee. "I have not done anything wrong. ... I will not answer any questions or testify about the subject matter." — Lois Lerner, director of the IRS´s tax-exempt organizations division,

As gratifying as it was to see the “news” media actually do its job last week when the IRS scandal broke, it was also odd that the coverage focused exclusively on abuses of power relating to various Tea Party and anti-abortion groups. A much scarier IRS story has been virtually ignored by the establishment press. On Wednesday, it was reported that a class-action lawsuit had been filed against a group of IRS agents who, according to the complaint filed by “John Doe Company” in the Southern District of California, “stole more than 60,000,000 medical records of more than 10,000,000 Americans

ONE OF THE BIGGEST questions hanging over the health-care system is how many young Americans will sign up for coverage once the Affordable Care Act begins to phase in this October. If too few buy insurance on the markets that the government is creating, insurance companies would be stuck covering primarily the the old and the sick. They would have to pay out more per customer. Their customers, in turn, would have to pay more to those companies for coverage. The stakes for the Health and Human Services Department, which is overseeing the transition, are tremendous.

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose
