Bloomie must hate the working guy. I have a friend who runs a pizza shop. When he runs a special, free 2 liter of soda with a large, his business increases and his driver´s tips increase. Jack up the cost of soda and I´ll bet those delivery guys in NY see a big chunk taken out of their tips.

Apparently, Mayor Bloomberg believes New Yorkers are so mentally handicapped that they can´t figure out they can order as much soda pop as they want simply by purchasing multiple under-16-ounce bottles.

When people order coffee, they order it by the cup, and when they want more they ask for a refill. This is perfectly adaptable to soda pop. How long will it be before New Yorkers, wandering around in their mental fog thirsty for more than 16 ounces of soda pop, figure this out?

Note that the smaller-sized bottles cost much more per ounce. I´ve actually seen 2-liter bottles sold more cheaply than the 16-ounce bottles. Nuts.

The ban does not apply to sugar free drinks such as Tab, Diet-Rite, Diet Dr. Thunder, etc.

If Government ever did anything useful, they should end the ban on cyclamates. Big Sugar funded the study that led to banning cyclamates. Those results have never been independently verified. Canadians drinking cyclamates are not seeing an increase in cancer rates.

Coca Cola, Pepsi, every sugar drink maker, every restaurant, bar, hot dog stand, fast food restaurant and any seller of beverages should sue in both a class action suit and individually against Bloomberg. Keep him in litigation long after he is gone, clog up the entire court system and totally bankrupt NYC in the first year of filing.

Even if the cases lose it would cost the city so much money and time, absolutely no other city would dream of doing this, other than maybe SF.

Yes, bring back cyclamates! The FDA is not holding it up due to cancer anymore. It is holding it up for political reasons. Which is too bad because it is the only non-sugar sweetener that tastes good and has no after-taste. Maybe I should move to Canada. It sounds like they are freer than us now.

By the way, S.F. is nothing like N.Y.C. in this respect. Sure, they banned plastic bags at grocery stores but they don´t control your food like Nanny Bloomberg, the Tyrant, does. S.F. is still free compared to NYC.

Oh my as if the pizza place can´t then have specials on say 4 16 oz containers with glass serving mugs or send 16 oz glass bottles with each delivery.
They could do as the gun companies and refuse to sell them to government employees or to close out the public when the obe wants to party.
