| The National Journal’s rankings of the most liberal U.S. representatives reveals that Connecticut’s Sen. Richard Blumenthal is the most liberal Senator, while Connecticut’s all-Democrat congressional delegation is the fourth most liberal in the country. Blumenthal tied with Sen. Tom Udall (D-NM) for the top liberal spot in the Senate. Others at that end of the spectrum include Sens. Dick Durbin (D-IL), Al Franken (D-MN), Patty Murray (D-WA), and Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ). According to the rankings, Blumenthal voted for the liberal position on legislation 90.7% of the time.

Comments: It would be difficult to choose with that group. Blumenthal is one annoyingly unpleasant man. Just like the rest of his comrades.

How is the `Most Liberal Democrat` established since they all vote in lockstep?
As for Blumenthal, he`ll be surpassed very quickly by Liz Warren of Massachusetts. She hasn`t had much of a chance to get going but when she does....

"Stolen Valor Blumenthal", who was heard many times saying "When I got home from Vietnam", although he was in the Marine Reserves and never left the USA. He made a specialty during his long tenure as AG of chasing businesses out of CT, where, alas, I live.

I really hate it - - when communists, marxists, and socialists are referred to as "liberals"!
There´s nothing "liberal" at all about people who want to make everyone else slaves on a government plantation.
The folks at Breitbart should know better - - and start calling them leftists.
Liberal? PFOOOEYYY!!!

I see one of my Senators,Patty Murray, is listed. I would like to correct that. She is the dumbest Senator in the Senate. If she had a brain she would be dangerous. As it is she follows whatever she is told to do.

I believe Barry Sotero held this distinction during his short career as a senator.

#2, Didn´t Blumenthal also stop the trans-Long Island Sound power line, which was to bring power to Long Island, which desperately needs additional power?

#8, that I don´t know, but I´m sure you´re right. BTW CT´s new senator Chrissie Boy-face Murphy will make Blumenthal look like Newt Gingrich. Joe Courtney (D Norwich) mentioned in the article is my rep. too. In February of 2010 he sent me a circular bragging that Medicare was now safe because of Obamacare, then in Feb. of 2011 another one warning me that the IPAB (Death Panels) were threatening Medicare, and I should thank him for working against them! He failed to mentioned that he voted for the IPAB when he voted for Obamacare. What Huzzpah!

Newly uncovered court documents show the Justice Department seized phone records associated with several Fox News lines as part of a leak investigation -- a revelation that comes as the White House Correspondents´ Association spoke out against the administration´s monitoring of reporters. Documents from October 2011 appear to show exchanges that match the specific locations of Fox News´ White House, Pentagon, State Department and other operations. The last four digits of each of the phone numbers listed are redacted in the government filing so it is impossible to know the full numbers. Meanwhile, the Correspondents´ Association spoke out

U.S. military sources serving in North Africa are challenging the latest White House claim that the administration is applying "all the resources" at its disposal to bring the Benghazi attackers to justice, charging instead that the Obama administration knows who is responsible but is not acting. "They have let it slip by because of politics, and now we´ve taken all the correlation we had and dropped the ball because of risk (aversion) -- and now the security in Libya is more fragile than ever," one U.S. special operator told Fox News. The source, speaking on condition of anonymity,

Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse has apologized for remarks Monday in which he linked Oklahoma "cyclones" to climate change while berating Republicans for their stance on the issue -- around the time a massive tornado killed dozens in that state. A Whitehouse spokesman said Tuesday the politically charged remarks were pre-written as part of the senator’s weekly Senate floor speech on climate change. “Tragically and unbeknownst to the senator at the time, a series of tornadoes were hitting Oklahoma at the same moment he gave his remarks,” the spokesman said.

During a panel discussion on the Department of Justice seizing the phone records of Fox News’ James Rosen, Bret Baier revealed that the seizure included the phone records of Rosen’s parents. The entire panel agreed the scandal was an outrage, with Kirsten Powers pointing out that there have been a number of high-profile leaks from the Obama administration, but the only ones they seem interested in going after are the ones that make them look bad. Charles Krauthammer found it amazing that the government would make such a “huge assault on the first amendment” in trying to

A liberal think tank with close ties to the Obama administration took money from General Motors and other businesses it did not disclose while campaigning for policies benefitting those companies, according to The Nation magazine. Members of the “Business Alliance” of the Center for American Progress (CAP) include bailed out car company GM, unsafe Bangladeshi factory utilizer Walmart, and embattled solar energy company First Solar, according to a membership list obtained by the liberal magazine. CAP, whose chairman is Democratic Party power player John Podesta, was a major proponent of the auto bailout, which used

Juan Williams, a liberal commentator and a Fox News Channel contributor, criticized the Department of Justice (DOJ) for “criminalizing journalism,” when asked about Fox’s Chief Washington Correspondent James Rosen being labeled as a possible co-conspirator in a government leak investigation. “I think what you’ve got here is a situation where somehow, now, journalism has been criminalized, especially in this Rosen case,” Williams said on Fox & Friends on Tuesday. “There’s just no justification for somehow making it out that a reporter, who is trying to cultivate a source, by doing so is a co-conspirator in terms

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.

U.S. Sen. John McCain bucked the party line coming from many of his fellow conservatives this morning, saying suggestions that compare the trio of scandals gripping the White House to Watergate are “overreaching.” “I think it’s overreaching. We need a full and complete investigation and then we will decide the dimensions of it,” said McCain while campaigning for Republican Senate candidate Gabriel Gomez in Dorchester. “It is terrible but we have to have a full investigation before we leap to conclusions.” The maverick’s caution is a sharp contrast to the response of many Republicans
