warnings fall on deaf ears

President Obama’s apocalyptic predictions of the harm that would come to the country if the latest round of budget cuts kick in late next week are starting to wear thin among an unlikely group: the White House press corps.Mr. Obama has spent the past week issuing a series of dire warnings about the economic and personal consequences of allowing the so-called sequester spending cuts to occur March 1.

Rush says the 24 hour day will probably get cut to 22 hours.

But we do have obama on the job. No worries.

The media has been more than happy to carry Obama´s water for 4+ years but his claims on the sequester were too much for even them to swallow. To show what a doofus of a president Obama is, he consults Al Sharpton instead of real people who could remedy the situation. Even worse while this is going on,Obama wants another $50 billion for infrastructure, ignoring the fact that $800 billion was already wasted on this crap before.

I think they are starting to fear that we will find out how little we need the people not showing up for "work". Work isn´t something they do, just a place they go.

Mr Brilliant Politician probably shouldn´t have dated Tiger and Reggie last weekend rather than letting the MSM service him as is their wont. Bad timing to scorn them when he needs their help so badly in his drive to never cut one thin dime from the money pipeline.

Not that I think the WH pressies are on the brink of a revolt against the Obiemeister, but, interesting that even these drones are starting to wake up. Equally interesting that Obie is restricting their accees to him to these so-called "off-the-record" meetings. Could be that someone or something from outside of the WH press corps is planting information with them, aka "the real story". By the way, I thought we were going to deport Piers?

All of these things will likely happen at some point but not because of sequester but rather due the failed policies and actions of this administration. Barry is just setting up an alibi trail so he can blame the pubs for all the bad headed our way.

Exaggerated and false promises from politicians are what people expect but to be disrespected, stolen from, and lied to, is not part of the deal with the taxpaying public. Maybe the drones were the last straw, or maybe it was Tiger, or Benghazi, or Lew or .....

Obama is using his sequester as a smokescreen for a dismal economic period in 2013-14 due to his policies. Unemployment moves up to 8.5% - blame GOP and its desire to hurt middle class. Annual GDP growth remains at appalling 0.5 - 1.0%, blame Boehner. Gasoline prices reach $4.75-$5.00 per gallon, blame Cantor. Obama will point his ugly Index Finger of Blame at the GOP at every opportunity, and the Bob Schieffers, Brian Williams, Wolf Blitzers and their ilk will play the video over and over.

Link should have screen shot of CNN´s Blitzer to show media still defends Obama.

#16 nails it.

However, the GOP needs to hold firm on "this is what the president wanted and negotiated, so he must have wanted these results. And his Democrat Senate sat around doing nothing so they must have wanted this too."

If you want better results you need to stop electing these liberal democrats. We have presented ideas to help expand the economy and reduce expenses.

The president keeps pushing his failed policies.
The Democrats in the Senate have been in-charge for the last 6 years, and haven´t even bothered to present a budget in the last 4.
The Democrats in the House are being led by the most liberal area in the country, San Francisco. Do you support the same ideas as those from San Francisco?

The inner-cities have been represented by mostly Democrats for decades. Is life improving there?

Yes, we need to elect better people, but who thinks Chuckie Schumer, Charlie Rangle, Sheila Jackson Lee, Maxine Waters, Hank Johnson, Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, Debbie Wasserman-Schulze or the likes of any Kennedy (they are running again) will ever be voted out. They just elected that horrible dishonest, lying, cheating fake indian Warren woman in Mass. and her background was well documented and known.

This is a story I heard a few years ago. During the 80´s there was talk about having to shut down the government. All the press were doom and gloom. Reportedly and I believe it, President Reagan said in his usual voice, " Let´s just shut it down and see if anyone notices." That is the way I feel now.

@#17: Name one thing the GOP has held firm on since they took control of the House 25 months ago? Something that made a r-e-a-l difference?

The GOP will do nothing to save anyone from anything. Obama has gotten where he is in life by playing the racial blame game an it works every time. The next example of the GOP caving will be held shortly when Hagel is confirmed a SecDef. Then they`ll cave on Brennan and then Lew - and blah blah blah....

If they seriously need to cut 2% they could just stop funding wars in Africa.

The president hasn’t attempted to distance himself from the Associated Press snooping campaign. To the contrary, he offered “no apologies.” To be blunt, he approves the most invasive breach of the First Amendment against any news organization in the history of the republic. No president has tried this and for good reason. We now have yet another media abuse story, in a way much more severe. The Post breaks the story that the Obama administration indulged in excruciatingly invasive spying on James Rosen of Fox News and, in an unprecedented move, asserted that his newsgathering is criminal.

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

In the days since the Internal Revenue Service first disclosed that it had targeted conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, new information has emerged from both the Treasury Inspector General’s report and congressional testimony Friday that calls into question key statements made by Lois G. Lerner, the IRS’s director of the exempt organizations division. The clumsy way the IRS disclosed the issue as well as Lerner’s press briefing by phone were seen at the time as a public relations disaster.

The Obama administration’s sudden plunge into scandal territory has two aspects — the actual and the political. The first, and most important, has to do with what actually happened. Why did the administration promulgate a false account of the terror attack on Benghazi? Why did the Internal Revenue Service target conservative groups for special scrutiny? Why did the Justice Department act in an unprecedented fashion toward The Associated Press for publishing details of a foiled terror plot the White House was planning to discuss openly the next day?

The birthday party will be modest and understated, in keeping with the man. Sir Nicholas Winton is 104 tomorrow and naturally some of his children will be there to wish him well. Not only his blood offspring but those known as Winton’s Children – the ones he saved from near-certain death three-quarters of a century ago. Nicholas – Nicky – Winton hates to be thought of as a hero, hates being compared with Oskar Schindler or Raoul Wallenberg, but he nevertheless deserves to be mentioned in the same breath.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

WASHINGTON – White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said Sunday Republicans owe Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, an apology for alleging she played a part in formulating the White House’s response to the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, last year that killed four Americans. Pfeiffer said on ABC’s “This Week” that the release of more than 100 pages of Benghazi emails and notes show “beyond a shadow of the doubt” that accusations she tried to change the narrative of what happened in the attacks was false.
