Is President Obama
overplaying sequestration hand

Politico, by Carrie Budoff Brown & Jake Sherman

Original Article

President Barack Obama’s greatest adversary in the latest budget battle isn’t the Republican leadership in Congress — it’s his confidence in his own ability to force a win. He has been so certain of his campaign skills that he didn’t open a line of communication with House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell until Thursday, a week before the spending ax hits. And when they did finally hear from Obama, the calls were perfunctory, with no request to step up negotiations or invitations to the White House.

I thought we had tax hikes. Where are the spending cuts, much less even a slow down in the increase in spending.

A tiny cut in the planned spending increases according to Obama and the press will-
1) Starve millions of babies
2) Close the airports
3) Gut the FBI
4) Shut down the Space Program
5) Fire thousands of firefighters and police officers
6) Stop all meat inspection

However it will not affect at all the useless junior assistant deputy administrator for kindergarten sex education in the Department of Education.

My sons hiring as an air traffic controller may be on hold due to this nonsense. After 6 years in the military nobama may screw over him some more. I´m developing a real dislike for our so fine president.

We have an administration full of highly paid PHDs, 535 members of congress mostly lawyers and thousands of other overpaid consultants and lobbyists, all supposedly the cream of the political crop and "Sequestration" is the best they can come up with?

Throw them all out of office beginning with our worthless president and start over!

Reply 12 - Posted by: lylacat, 2/22/2013 3:54:09 PM     (No. 9191325)

Sequestration is 0bama´s own idea; he owns it. 0bama can not stop spending, he can not cut anything, but he sure will raise taxes on all of us. Spend, spend, spend. Michelle needs another lavish and luxurious vacation. Millions of Dollars for her Hawaiian vacation, millions for her and her girls to go to Aspen; I can hardly wait to see where she goes in March.

Obe can´t imagine his lies helped put him in this position.
As to Michelle´s expensive vacations it´s called blackmail for putting up with reggie and Valjar

All of Obama´s antics are the result of one thing.... The lack of the MSM calling him into account. The Democrat´s entire political strategy is based on being able to hide lies and hypocrisy from the ignorant and gullible.

Did senior State Department security

Two top officials at the State Department´s Diplomatic Security Service (DS) -- the federal law enforcement agency that protects American diplomats and investigates allegations of criminal misconduct by State Department employees -- gave sworn testimony earlier this year that appears to be evasive at best, and untrue at worst, according to evidence obtained by Fox News. The officials are Scott Bultrowicz, who until Feb. 1 served as director of DS, and Tracy H. Mahaffey, who remains the executive director of DS. In videotaped depositions conducted this past February,

Jimmy Hoffa´s disappearance almost 40 years ago has been the stuff of urban legend, prompting numerous theories about what happened to the former Teamsters leader. The FBI saw enough merit in a reputed Mafia captain´s tip to once again this week break out the digging equipment to search for the remains in an Oakland Township field, about 25 miles north of Detroit. The feisty Hoffa was last seen about 20 miles away on July 30, 1975, outside a restaurant where he was supposed to meet with a New Jersey Teamsters boss and a Detroit Mafia captain.

House Takes Up Far-Reaching
Anti-Abortion Bill

WASHINGTON — House Republicans on Tuesday make their most concerted effort of the year to change federal abortion law with legislation that would ban almost all abortions after a fetus reaches the age of 20 weeks. The "Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act," expected to pass by a comfortable margin late Tuesday, would be a direct challenge to the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortions up to the time a fetus becomes viable. Fetal viability is generally considered to be at least 24 weeks into the pregnancy.

Sex Therapy Experts:
Anthony Weiner Not Cured

Anthony Weiner stepped down from Congress two years ago with a promise to “heal from the damage” of his sexual Twitter scandal. But sex therapy and addiction experts say the program he enrolled in shortly after his resignation wouldn’t have done much to address the root causes behind the scandal. Shortly after announcing his comeback bid for mayor of New York City, Weiner told reporters he had spent three days in July 2011 at the Gabbard Center, a psychiatric evaluation center in Houston, Texas. The program “wasn’t an addiction thing,” Weiner told the Daily News last month.

NSA leaker Edward Snowden, answering questions Monday in a live blog on his revelations about the top-secret agency, denied charges he was spying for China and vowed to release more details on the NSA´s "direct access" to the tech companies´ servers "Truth is coming, and it cannot be stopped," Snowden said, according to The Guardian, which held the "live chat" on its website. He said the U.S. government "is not going to be able to cover this up by jailing or murdering me." Snowden, a former NSA contractor who fled the United States after revealing top-secret details

Obama to Charlie Rose: The whole point of my concern, before I was president — because some people say, “Well, you know, Obama was this raving liberal before. Now he’s, you know, Dick Cheney.” Dick Cheney sometimes says, “Yeah, you know? From the moment the Group of Eight summit began, the dividing lines on how to intervene in the Syrian civil war became clear: The U.S. and its European allies on one side, Russia on the other. Tensions with Russia have gotten the meeting off to a rocky start. Deep disagreements on the conflict have all but guaranteed that the G-8 will not produce a unanimous decision at the resort in Northern Ireland on how, or even whether, to assist rebel forces in their fight against Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Is Marco Rubio, R-Fla., getting played by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.? During his interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl this morning, Rubio didn’t even seem to understand what that meant. “Are you being played by the Democrats?” asked Karl. “Is Chuck Schumer playing you?” “I don’t — I quite frankly, I don’t even know what that means,” Rubio replied. “Is he using you?” Karl continued. “Is he using you to try to accomplish something that the Democrats want and is not — not a conservative bill?” Rubio responded that immigration reform was a bi-partisan issue that “all Americans

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
