Mayor Emanuel´s Approval
Rating In The Tank

The Washington Post has a blog post entitled “President Rahm? Maybe.” It cites Emanuel’s fundraising ability, knowledge of the political process, discipline and media contacts as reasons he could succeed his fellow Chicagoan, Barack Obama. (Snip)Well, now there is recent credible polling on Emanuel, and it’s not good for the mayor. A Crain’s/Ipsos poll out Thursday finds that the mayor’s popularity has fallen sharply since voters were last surveyed in September: Just 2 percent of Chicagoans surveyed said they strongly approve of the mayor´s job performance, with 12 percent somewhat approving and 5 percent leaning that way.

Doesn´t matter. If the Dims want him to be President they´ll steal the election for him.

In Chicago, it doesn´t matter WHAT their mayor does OR their approval rating. Look at how shady Daley was and he was re-elected over and over and over again.

Rahm will just SAY the right things and he´s in for a second term.

If you ever have the chance listen to WLS at 3pm (eastern) to Roe Conn and he explains it perfectly.

The problem for the voters of Chicago is how to get rid of him since he controls the ballot box and has all the "tricks" that Barry and Axelrod possess. Chicago remains a cesspool and Rahm is the master breeder of crud.

Dems will vote for him no matter what. Some will vote more than once. And then brag about it.

Ooops - fergot... they´s always the dead voters

Daley was likeable...Rahm is not.

I have never seen a mayor so hated by BOTH sides.

That includes Harold "tax evading/slum lord" Washington.

The National Security Agency has eyes and ears everywhere. At least, so we thought. In 2012, during a classified but widely-known operation at Fort Meade, MD, government crypotographers and developers downloaded the OpenSSL source code, as it does with dozens of other software published on the Web. The operation´s objective was to find weaknesses in the library and exploit those vulnerabilities as part of wider efforts by the intelligence agency to conduct mass-scale surveillance. Executives and senior officials heralded it as one of the biggest vulnerability discoveries in the intelligence agency´s recent

The legacy of Mickey Rooney, who died on April 6 in California at age 93, goes far beyond the silver screen. The prolific film star did a service for millions of elderly in this country by helping to publicize the scourge of financial elder abuse. Whether it´s fraudulent sweepstakes phone calls, investments, grandparent scams, or the far more insidious deceptions by neighbors, friends, employees, and relatives, such exploitation is rampant and on the rise.(Snip) In September 2011, Rooney´s court-appointed conservator, Michael. Los Angeles - A shallow 5.1-magnitude earthquake rocked the Los Angeles area Friday causing power cuts, gas leaks and bursting water mains, and stopping rides at Disneyland. While no injuries were reported, objects fell from shelves and furniture toppled over, according to photos posted on social media, while TV pictures showed a car flipped over by a rockslide. These should be avoidable Measles has made a comeback, at least in New York City, where as many as 19 cases have been confirmed. New York City isn’t an anomaly, though. Diseases that are and have been avoidable in the U.S. thanks to vaccines, are resurfacing all across the country. Measles, for instance, was considered wiped out in 2000, but there have been several outbreaks in the past few years. If the news last month that the prevalence of obesity among American preschoolers had plunged 43 percent in a decade sounded too good to be true, that´s because it probably was, researchers say. When the study was published in late February in the Journal of the American Medical Association, no one had a ready explanation for that astounding finding by researchers at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.(Snip) Anti-obesity campaigners credited everything from changes to the federal nutrition program for low-income women and children to the elimination of trans-fats from fast food, more physical activity in child-care

Nathan Phelps, who fled the infamous Kansas church more than 30 years ago, claims his notorious father was kicked out of the congregation he built and is now spending his final days in hospice care. “I´ve learned that my father, Fred Phelps, Sr., pastor of the "God Hates (deleted to clear site filter)" Westboro Baptist Church, was ex-communicated from the ‘church’ back in August of 2013,” Nathan Phelps wrote on Facebook. “He is now on the edge of death at

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

In a speech earlier this week, Lisa O. Monaco, President Barack Obama’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, insisted that American parents must be vigilant because their “confrontational” children could be on the verge of becoming terrorists. Monaco’s full, prepared text is available here. She presented the speech, entitled “Countering Violent Extremism and the Power of Community,” at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government on April 15. Monaco began her remarks by eloquently describing the lives tragically lost last year during the Boston Marathon bombings. Interestingly, the Harvard grad failed to mention the religion or the motive of brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan
