| Former Sen. Chuck Hagel declined to sign a letter circulated by Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in 2007 calling upon then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to press Arab allies of the U.S. to recognize Israel’s right to exist “and not use such recognition as a bargaining chip for future Israeli concessions.” Seventy-nine Senators eventually signed the letter, which was sponsored by Schumer and by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC). The Schumer-Graham letter “concerning the Responsibilities of Friendly Arab States” has not, apparently, been cited yet in the debate over Hagel’s potential confirmation as Secretary of Defense. The letter

Obama and Hagel both agree--Israel is evil and should submit to the religion of peace or disappear.

Perhaps Hagel would rather sign a letter from his ´boss´ which states...

#5, yes. Thanks to enough Republican support, the Democrats now have the 60 votes necessary to avoid a filibuster. Can you believe, I barely can, that our former Republican presidential nominee Bob Dole released an absolutely glowing recommendation for Hagel. Sick.

Saudi Arabia proposed full oeace and full diplomatic recognition of Israel by all Arab League nations in 2002. All israel had to do was go back to the pre 1967 borders and recognize Palestine´s right to exists ( which was part ofntheUN plan of 1947-48 to beginnwi). Isrsel had never even acknowledged that is proposal exists. Who isnthe real foot-dragger ? It is time to give Palestinians some human decency and let em live freely. Why are they the only people on earth denied their own country? I went there to visit and got my eyes opened. I stopped supporting Zionism when i realized what it really means. Several of my Jewish friends feel the same way, so dont even think of hurling "anti-Semite" labels at me, or other such knee-jerk reactions. Be rational amd think! Ourngovt has lied to us about so many things over the decades....this is just one more of them.

Poster #8 is a real winner!!!!!!!! Tiny Israel was attacked by pretty much every Arab state surrounding, and fought off the attackers at huge risk for existence. And yet #8 seems to feel that Israel should do a "start over" with the attackers? So they can be attacked once again without a buffer zone? Give me a BREAK! Israel will give back the occupied lands when every other country gives back land they won in a war, even those they started themselves.

#8, in this country you have the right to express your views (supposedly) and I´m always glad to hear the other side when the arguments make any sense at all but I´ve been to Israel and the Middle East also and I can say without any hesitation that you are full of it up to your eyeballs. I won´t even point out where you are wrong because your world view is so completely upside down and I´ve wasted enough time with you.

Sorry, Democracy First [sic]. You *are* an Anti-Semite. Don´t even try that "but I have Jewish friends!" crap; that anti-Semitic claptrap is even older than your canards. And as to you visiting Israel? Puh-leeze. You haven´t been anywhere near the place. Nobody who sees the actual ground, and the horrible strategic position it renders unto Israel, EVER suggests the 1949 Armistice lines (there WAS no recognized 1967 border; no Arab country ever even acknowledged Israel, let alone agreed to international borders) are viable. And the ONLY country in the region that ever actually agreed to a two-state solution is Israel. For doing so, they got TWO "Intifadas". Having experienced the Palestinians repeatedly and violently rejecting a two-state solution, only you would find it strange that Israel would conclude it is not possible at this time with this Palestinian "leadership."

To add to those responding to #8...Every other Arab country in the ME gives no real support to the "Palestinians". They consider them to be nothing more than pawns in the Arab vs Israeli long running conflict. Kinda like the blacks and the leftists in this country.

The signs keep accumulating that the IRS scandal is worse than liberals are willing to concede. On Bill Press´s radio show yesterday, a reporter with left-leaning Politico told Press that the Internal Revenue Service dragging its feet on applications for tax-exempt status from tea party groups probably affected the outcome of last year´s election. (Video after the jump) Here´s what Politico´s Lauren French told Press (audio) -- PRESS: So, Lauren, you´ve been covering this IRS scandal. How big is it really? On Wednesday, CNN anchor Jake Tapper dug into the controversial way in which members of President Barack Obama’s administration have apparently tried to intimidate whistleblowers in the government and the journalists that would investigate their stories. Tapper said that some, including the New York Times editorial board, have described the administration’s actions as “threatening fundamental freedoms of the press.” He warned Obama’s supporters to remember the precedent his administration is setting when a Republican next occupies the Oval Office. Tapper noted that the scandal surrounding the subpoenaing of Fox News reporter James Rosen’s personal telephone and email

Even though 132 members of Congress sent former Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Douglas Shulman letters about the IRS targeting of conservative groups, Shulman reiterated Wednesday that he did not have the full story until the inspector general’s report came out. “In the two years that this targeting was taking place, did any member of Congress contact you? Write you? About this particular subject? Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan asked during a House Oversight hearing. “Did you get letters from Congress?”

The chief judge of the District’s federal court issued an unusual order Wednesday, apologizing to the public and the media for not making certain court documents widely available online. The gesture of transparency by U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth comes at a time when the Obama administration is under scrutiny for an unprecedented number of leak investigations, including one showing that the Justice Department had secretly probed the news-gathering activities of Fox News reporter James Rosen. The investigation of Rosen was first reported Monday, after The Washington

In some other universe this would be shocking. In this universe it’s par for the course, and I don’t mean the golf course, but the guy who makes the golf course his second home. The US Attorney for the District of Columbia, Ronald C. Machen – the man responsible for the aggressive surveillance and phone record scrutiny at Fox News – is also a big donor to the Obama Campaigns. At the time of his appointment, the Washington Post wrote a profile on Machen including this tidbit: Over the years, he has donated $4,350 to Obama’s campaigns.

In combination, they lead him naturally from the role of pestiferous busybody to brutal dictator. If in any of these situations even one person of influence had adhered to the basic tenets of liberalism all of these scandals could have been avoided. "When you grow government this big, these kinds of scandals are inevitable, and (President Obama) bears the responsibility for that," Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal told a group of Virginia Republicans over the weekend. Other conservatives are echoing this view -- that the scandals embroiling the administration undermine Obama´s push for an activist "big government." I guess when you are a hammer, everything looks like a nail. For the GOP, anything that

Former Rep. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
