Obama considers urging the
Supreme Court to overturn
California’s ban on gay marriage

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is quietly considering urging the Supreme Court to overturn California´s ban on gay marriage, a step that would mark a political victory for advocates of same-sex unions and a deepening commitment by President Barack Obama to rights for gay couples. Obama raised expectations among opponents of the Proposition 8 ban when he declared in last month´s inaugural address that gays and lesbians must be "treated like anyone else under the law." The administration has until Feb. 28 to intervene in the case by filing a "friend of the court" brief.

Comments:
California voted for it, but the feds don´t like it. So much for whatever power is still left to the states.

He thinks he is channeling Lincoln and will attempt to start a civil war to become one in history. Liberal professors would be more than willing to write that book.

I´m pretty sure that the President is probably gay, to be blunt. I´m not judgmental if that were to be true. I think the whole golf outing with press blackouts (so we never actually see the President on the links), the time alone with Reggie on the big bus, the separate vacations away from his wife, the terrible baseball toss, etc. etc. etc. There seems to be a lot of telltale signs.

The President has taken his 3% victory in the last election as a mandate to do whatever the heck he wants. He is completely untethered. I will not be surprised by anything this lazy, childish and narcissistic tyrant wannabe will pursue.

It will get worse before it gets better.

Yes, #4, in future years (assuming a future USA, as we know it), I fully expect the truth to seep out--much like JFK´s womanizing. What truth?
-Obama is gay, or at least bi-. Look at his realtionship with Reggie Love, the hold that Jarrett has over him, the gay roomate in Columbia, the obvious gay members of his high schoolChoom Gang
-Obama´s birth made him ineligible to be POTUS

I see a bailout coming for California in exchange for Obama´s intervention as he attempts to overturn the will of the people. Will they sell out or revolt? History shows that they´ll probably sell out. Should be interesting.

Thanks to all the slackers who voted 0bummer into office, he´ll have his own Supreme Court and won´t have to "urge"...he´ll just simply DICTATE. Isn´t America a wonderful country.

Oh, come on. The five liberal judges attended his state of the union....that tells the world everything they need to know. Our country is being destroyed day by day and we passively submit. If the Founding Fathers came back to life today, they would be appalled.

How about treating white heterosexual males like "anyone else under the law"? Or Christians? Or pro-lifers? Or military vets?

Democrats will accept virtually anything that has a political constituency. LGBT is a good example. Most fail to understand transgender "rights" will include supporting a teacher to appear either as male or female on different days at public school.

Next comes the pedophile lobby. Oh, it won´t appear as sex with 4 year olds. Liberals know better than to jump the shark. It will come as the lowering of the age of accountability. After all; aren´t 13 year olds capable of love? And, of course we should go by their emotional age as all people "mature" at different ages. And the liberal psychiatric community has already done "studies" that show children who have had sex with adults were not mentally harmed. As soon as they get a political following the Democrats will hop right on the support bandwagon. Don´t you just see it coming?

It is a bit bigger and somewhat colder, but a planet circling a star 500 light-years away is otherwise the closest match of our home world discovered so far, astronomers announced on Thursday. The planet, known as Kepler 186f, named after NASA’s Kepler planet-finding mission, which detected it, has a diameter of 8,700 miles, 10 percent wider than Earth, and its orbit lies within the “Goldilocks zone” of its star, Kepler 186 — not too hot, not too cold, where temperatures could allow for liquid water to flow at the surface, making it potentially hospitable for life. “Kepler 186f is

Former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards returned to the courtroom in North Carolina this week. Edwards, before entering politics as a senator from North Carolina, shot to prominence as a personal injury lawyer in the state and restarted his practice late last year. In his first case back in the courtroom, Edwards is part of a legal team representing a 4-year-old in a medical malpractice case. The Virginia boy was three months old during a hospital visit in 2009 and “the hospital is accused of failing to ensure the baby received adequate oxygen, resulting in a brain injury,” according to

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

The VA hospital that slapped a $525 federal fine on a man after he refilled his 89-cent drink without paying has backed down, choosing to issue a warning instead of a citation, a spokesperson for the facility said Thursday. Christopher T. Lewis, of North Charleston, was issued the $525 citation on Wednesday after he ignored signage indicating that there’s no such thing as a free lunch — or complimentary drink refills — at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston. Lewis, who is not a federal employee, told responding officers he had done the same thing “multiple times” before

For the last few weeks, Marisol Sanchez took pains to drive miles out of her way to avoid highways in the Kansas City area. On Thursday, she said she was breathing a little bit easier. Police Chief Darryl Forte announced Thursday night that a man has been taken into custody in connection with as many as 20 highway shootings in the Kansas City, Missouri, area, that began in early March. The suspect´s name won´t be released until charges have been filed. A news conference is scheduled for Friday. Residents greeted the news with relief. "It´s actually been really nerve-wracking," Sanchez told CNN affiliate KCTV.

A new Obama administration privacy policy released Friday explains how the government will gather the user data of online visitors to WhiteHouse.gov, mobile apps and social media sites, and it clarifies that online comments, whether tirades or tributes, are in the open domain. "Information you choose to share with the White House (directly and via third party sites) may be treated as public information," the new policy says. The Obama Administration also promises not to sell the data of online visitors. But it cannot make the same assurances for users who go to third-party White House sites on Facebook, Twitter or Google

“Fast N’ Loud” host Richard Rawlings has found what he calls the car industry’s “Holy Grail” — the first two Pontiac Firebirds ever built. Called simply “#1” and “#2,” the prototypes were manufactured by Pontiac engineers and were used as models for the 1967 Firebird, which revolutionized the world of sporty “muscle cars” when it rolled off the assembly line. “We found the cars in a garage in Connecticut,” says Rawlings. “They were in a dilapidated barn and are the very first Firebirds .?.?. they were hand-made .?.?. and were used by GM to decide if they wanted to build the Firebird.” Discovery

Like him or hate him, there is no disputing that Rush Limbaugh’s very special brand of mixing right-wing politics with his flare for entertainment has produced one of the most successful radio programs in the medium’s long history. Whatever the burning political question of the day, millions of Americans have relished the opportunity to tune into Rush’s program, knowing that he would quickly take that hot potato, throw a few gallons of verbal kerosene into the mix and elevate the matter into a five alarm fire with a just a few well-chosen words spoken in the style only Rush Limbaugh could

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

I live in Las Vegas. I live and breath Nevada politics. Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in the Nevada desert. And Senator Harry Reid’s fingerprints are all over it. I am of course referring to the Bundy Ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the BLM (Bureayu of Land Management). The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'
