| Florida Gov. Rick Scott announced he will accept federal funds to expand Medicaid for three years on Wednesday, after which the law would have to be reauthorized. "I cannot in good conscience deny Floridians to healthcare," he told reporters. The decision adds him to the list of conservative Republican governors who accepted the expansion even though the Supreme Court ruled that states could refuse to go along with the measure to provide health care to the poor without losing existing federal funding. Scott accepted the expansion in exchange for a federal waiver to allow the state to privatize Medicaid,

Damn! When politicians get a chance to do what they say is "the thing America needs," and then, when the rubber hits the road, they do what´s best for their career...Why should we even bother worrying about the health of the country? Just ride it out and when the country dies, just go find something else to ride.

Interesting slip there, he meant to say he cannot "Deny healthcare to Floridians" but instead said "Deny Floridians to healthcare". He unwittingly admitted he is handing his citizens into the clutches of an already broken new system.

I´m disgusted with our Gov. Kasich too. The good thing is that it can be stopped by the legislature - if we pressure them enough. Kasich had better start flying right (literally!) because he is in danger of losing in 2014 and the Tea Party that elected him last time will not stand for this.

There are 2 downsides:
The Feds call the shots because they are paying the bill. So its strictly pay for service and state experimentation is prohibited.
Its going to get extremely expensive when the Fed run out of money.

The Richmond County Board of Education heard about efforts to increase students ACT scores at its February meeting Tuesday night. American College Testing, also known as the ACT, is a college admissions exam that tests students in English, math, science and reading. Richmond County School Superintendent George Norris said that they are now giving the test to every junior. WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued.
