| In a lecture to conservatives at the Las Vegas Country Club, Frank Fahrenkopf, co-chair of the Commission on Presidential Debates, admitted that the selection of CNN´s Candy Crowley to moderate the second presidential debate between President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney in October 2012 had been a "mistake." Crowley stirred controversy by intervening in the town hall-style debate to support Obama´s contention that he had referred to the Sep. 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi as a terrorist attack the day after it had occurred.

How can it be that an incompetent fool like Fahrenkopf is placed in such a critical position to begin with? Was this not obvious before the fact?

Yeah , but the Debate commission will get it right in 2016. S/O. The only way the Repubs can get an unbiased debate is to do away with moderators and let the candidates have a few minutes apiece to talk about different topics with no interruptions from either side.

The debate commission is a joke. There simply cannot be any legitimate, loyal Republicans who serve on it because the last 5 or 6 Presidential debates, especially the town halls, were rigged in favor of democrats. Apparently, the GOP is just plain dumb, as I´d bet my next paycheck that all of the 2016 debates are also moderated by lefties in formats that favor the democrats.

Obama, Mister "57 states", is the real "joke", followed by that fat hog liar shill two-bit phony Crowley. The debates were a horrendous thing to watch, like fingernails on a chalkboard. Besides, Romney kicked Hussein´s ass in the debates and won the election....except for the people who voted 5 or 6 times for Barry Soetoro and thought it was okay. FRAUD! RECOUNT! JAIL TIME!!!

The whole debate system is a farce. The endless primary debates for the GOP nomination were run pretty much exclusively by leftists. This is how the Dems inserted the first War on Women talking points through George Stephanapoulas. If the GOP can´t even protect their own candidates from this kind of manipulation (although Romney handled that well, but it seemed just asking the question was evidence of the "war") then they need to terminate the party immediately. They have never protected Republicans, so I see no use in the party establishment.

“Prospective Moderators Need Not Apply”
Assuming the two candidates are grownups, other than an equal-time keeper, there should be no need for a moderator in a U.S. Presidential Debate. Just turn them loose and let we the people see how they handle themselves under pressure.
Moderators invariably become an issue, if not THE issue. Who needs ‘em? We sure don’t!

That´s funny #2, because Frankie just stepped down as the American Gaming Association CEO. He´s the head man for casino´s.
Once Crowley publicly stated she wouldn´t follow the rules she should have been replaced. There´s no excuse for allowing her to moderate after that.

Once I learned who would be moderating the 2012 presidential debates, I knew there would be no point in watching. Judging by the outcome of the election I didn`t miss anything.

Pubbies think it´s okay to walk right into the enemy camp and surrender. Romney won the debates, the first one BIG time, and still lost the debates. Proof that when the referees are members of your opponent´s team, you can´t win.
It won´t change in 2016 mostly because the Pubs have become gutless dummies. Look at them surrendering on spending and immigration even now as I write.

The mistake was even asking the commission for their input. Just invite the Democrat to a honest debate. Then when they don´t accept, talk about nothing else until the election.

Los Angeles County coroner´s officials said Wednesday the body recovered from a fiery, single-car crash in Hollywood that apparently killed journalist Michael Hastings will likely undergo an autopsy Thursday. But an official cause of death and closure of the case is not likely for four to six weeks or perhaps longer, they said. Coroner´s officials are hoping the results will answer why the accident happened. Officials were attempting to match dental records to help make a positive identification. The death of the 33-year-old Hastings was announced Tuesday by his employer, BuzzFeed,

Meet the Women for Weiner. The former congressman, who apologized for the lewd picture scandal that ended his House career before launching a bid last month for New York City mayor, is holding a fundraiser hosted by “Women for Anthony” next week at the Manhattan home of an education activist and philanthropist. The host committee is led by his wife, Huma Abedin, and includes her sister, Heba; Rory Tahari, wife of designer Elie Tahari; and Cheryl Saban, the wife of California-based mega-donor Haim Saban, who funded a short film lauding Hillary Clinton’s tenure at the State Department

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

News reports from the final debate between Democrat Ed Markey and Republican Gabriel Gomez conclude that Gomez, a first-time candidate and self-styled "new kind of Republican," delivered a strong performance. With just days left in the campaign before the June 25 special election for Senate, Gomez has trailed Markey, a 37-year veteran of the House, in every single poll. Markey currently leads by average of more than 9 points. But in the debate Tuesday night, Gomez hit Markey hard on the Democrat´s long Washington tenure, a running theme in the Republican´s campaign. The Obama administration has reportedly tried to enlist the NBA in helping it sell Obamacare to the American people. It’s unclear whether a potential marketing partnership would put big-name players at the center of ad campaigns or if it would be as simple as putting the NBA trademark on marketing materials, Politico first reported today. People can begin signing up for Obamacare in October, with the new insurance coverage kicking in next year. Many have speculated that the enrollment campaigns would benefit from a celebrity endorsement or partnership with a major sports league.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
