| WASHINGTON-The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) has a grand sounding code of ethics that journalists once lived by, and in some cases, died trying to live up to. The truth seekers have gone, the truth tellers are rapidly dying off. The “news” is little more than political campaign for a particular party. Every subject is skewed and skewered to the point that everything you see hear and read should be taken with the proverbial “grain of salt.” A recent article on the popular progressive website Politico refers to Obama

D´oh. You really have to ask? Follow the money. The lame-stream media are doing what they do, which is hold on to their jobs. The managers are dependent on Federal dollars and Federal licenses. So the news readers had better not rock the boat. The only independent journalists these days are on the Internet. These people still investigate. But not MSM. It is too dangerous.

Uhhhh, this has been a problem for how many years?? Step 1. Rate journalists written, print, and net. 2. Put simple rating along with a brief bio e.g. L9/10 scale (very liberal), and maybe a symbol, too (Lapdog or similar might be one) and the bio... 3. would be predominately school, training, member cpusa or former staffer of Clinton admin. etc. Sunlight and Clarity...most of all facts. Hiding behind a ´false impartiality´ and ´fake integrity´ has to become a thing of the past.

We have indeed seemingly reached a point where ´journalistic integrity´ is an oxymoron. NBC in particular (noted in story as largest news organization in the US), has jumped the shark badly - and in the Trayvon Martin case (cited in the story) - actually ventured into ´shape a legal case with lies´ territory, via *knowingly* doing dishonest editing.
What is far, far more worrisome however - is the fact that for decades now, the US public school systems have been producing ´graduates´ who are actually far too stupid to either view information objectively, or seek any ´sources´ of information out of their ´comfort zones´.
I recently was ´dis-invited´ to a dinner when the host´s wife started waxing poetic about an ´Al Sharpton report´ she´d viewed.
I told her if she was stupid enough to actually put Al Sharpton and ´reporting´ in the same sentence, I wasn´t sure I was comfortable eating a meal she´d read a cook book to prepare. Warped perceptions are exactly that - no matter how they ´taste´.
And US media has become masterful at warping perceptions. It´s what they do now.
Sad. Very sad.

I would think before something dies it has to be alive. When was there any journalistic integrity? Maybe locally. I do know it was already missing on the national stage in the 1960s, can´t be sure before that but I doubt it was any different.

Journalistic integrity? The beginnings of America´s left-wing state-controlled media´s long "death march" towards total irrelevance began on that fateful day of February 27, 1968, when CBS´s late Uncle Walter Crankshaft falsely announced to the world that America and our Allies´ efforts to rid Southeast Asia of it´s communist menace were "mired in stalemate."...It´s been a downhill trip for the newsroom jackals ever since!

Historically, most "Newspapers" were founded by someone with a strong point of view. The window-dressing of impartiality has often been invoked without merit. Rather than curse the darkness, we had better get more media outlets going. The Blaze is not a bad start. Fox want´s to sell stuff to both sides....hey, it´s a business. The Left Media knows they are losing the ratings wars.
BTW- - - - Why can´t a community of like minded writers (like L-dotters), who write great political stuff all day, without pay, anyway, create an on-line newspaper ?
Not for profit but for ´influence´.
Why not dozens of them ?
We must win the hearts and minds first.
And then elections.

A vomitous human being. This is really the only way to describe one Lizz Winstead, the co-creator of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show. She’s also the author of following tweet that went out to her 75,000 followers not long after a two-mile-wide tornado destroyed the town of Moore, Oklahoma. Among the 51 dead (the death toll as of 11:40 PM EST Monday) are a reported 20 children–many of whom died at an Elementary School in town–along with mothers, fathers, whole families. Some may be buried alive. The IRS targeted conservatives. God is doing the same with this tornado.

The “charity” run by President Barack Obama’s half-brother that was fast-tracked for IRS tax-exempt status is based at a Virginia UPS store, according to its website. The organization’s IRS filings list another Virginia address that is actually a drug rehab center where the foundation does not appear ever to have been based. The Barack H. Obama Foundation is run by Abon’go “Roy” Malik Obama, the half-brother of Barack Obama. As first reported by The Daily Caller, the foundation was speedily approved for IRS exemption by Lois Lerner, the IRS senior official at the center

We oppose this bill and urge you to vote against it when it comes to the Senate floor,” the letter to be released Tuesday and obtained by The Daily Caller reads. ”No matter how well intentioned, the Schumer-Rubio bill suffers from fundamental design flaws that make it unsalvageable. Many of us support various parts of the legislation, but the overall package is

We now know that the Justice Department kept exceptionally close tabs on Fox News reporter James Rosen in 2010, following his trips in and out of the State Department, hacking his personal emails and phone calls. Normal newsgathering activities are being treated as criminal activities by the White House. But consider what the same White House had to say about Fox News back in 2009. You might remember the concerted effort by White House officials to brand the right-leaning Fox News as a bogus news outlet, unworthy of attention.

Huma Abedin, former Secretary of State Hillary’s Clinton’s long time aide with extensive ties to Muslim Brotherhood groups, was granted an arrangement by the State Department to do outside consulting work, even as she remained a top advisor in the Department. Abedin did not disclose either the arrangement, or how much she earned from it, on her financial report, despite a requirement that public officials must disclose significant sources of income. Clinton advisor Philippe Reines contended she was under no obligation to do so. Abedin, who has served Clinton for 15 years, became a “special government employee”

A federal judge in Washington ruled in 2010 that the Justice Department was not required by law to notify Fox reporter James Rosen that prosecutors had obtained his emails in connection with an investigation into a leak about North Korean plans to test a nuclear weapon. In September 2010, Chief U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth overruled the conclusion of federal magistrate John Facciola that Rosen—whose Gmail account was searched—was entitled by law to be informed. Prosecutors contended that under the statute used to get Rosen´s emails, the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, they were not

The Department of Justice released a statement moments ago amid reports of the department obtaining a subpoena in order to access Fox News reporter James Rosen´s personal emails. "Leaks of classified information to the press can pose a serious risk of harm to our national security and it is important that we pursue these matters using appropriate law enforcement tools. Such investigations and prosecutions, including this particular case, follow all applicable laws, regulations, and longstanding Department of Justice policies intended to safeguard the First Amendment interests of the press in reporting the news and the public in receiving it."

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

So actually asked CNN´s Candy Crowley of her guest Sen. A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement
