| Washington lawmakers have pulled a contentious gun-control bill from the state’s legislative tracking website, after calling a section that gave law enforcement authority to enter homes and check for proper weapons storage a “mistake.” The Seattle Times reports that Seattle trial lawyer Lance Palmer first raised doubts about Senate Bill 5737 to the newspaper, complaining: “They always say, we’ll never go house to house to take your guns away. But then you see this, and you have to wonder.” Mr. Palmer was referring to a now-scrapped section of the text that gave the local sheriff the right to conduct

Comments: Their trial balloon burst in their faces. That is the only reason they pulled the contentious bill and admit they made this "mistake."

This is exactly what they wanted to do.
Just like in New York, there is no secret as to what these tyrants want to do.
Andrew Cuomo wanted confiscation publicly and privately in his un-SAFE Act. The NY State Police told him that it would be impossible because they did not know where the firearms were and who owned them.
THAT is why there is a registration requirement in the un-SAFE Act. New York State will follow the same steps that New York City did, initially require registration, and then compel confiscation - sending police to people´s homes if necessary - a short time later.

It is hard to remember that the Nazis came to power legally. And, they took absolute power - passing one bill at a time.
It seems like the Left is forever trying to nibble away at our free society.

Who wrote the bill? Who authored the part about home inspections by the local sheriff? That inflammatory section of the bill didn´t insert itself magically.

So what about that section was a mistake? The fact that someone put it in to begin with, or that it was too easy to find and they should have used enough legal BS to hide that it was there? Who wrote the section requiring house to house searches? It didn´t just appear by magic. It didn´t write itself. Right now the democrats are in full cockroach mode over this, because someone flipped on the kitchen light. You have to know that they were praying that no one would notice that section and if they had managed to get it through the legislative process, they would be giving each other high fives through the corridors of the Capital.

Dixie, your confidence in Roberts far exceeds mine.
"It is easier to believe - what once was, will be again". And Roberts has proven who he has always been.
Man will be your greatest disappointment in life - compounded, if you count on people to act according to your mores and beliefs.
The pulling of this bill is a true anticrime action by Washington lawmakers.

In this climate, why would anyone voluntarily register a firearm?
I certainly wouldn´t, that is, if I had one, which, of course, I don´t.
Anyone who willingly tells the government that he has a firearm, had just proven he´s too stupid to own one.
And, for the books, I´m one of those who would risk a year in jail by net letting an inspector in my house. And I´m now past 70.

There is another bill sitting in WA state judiciary committee that is a more positive Libertarian type Bill. I believe Judiciary is going to sit on it and let it just die because it has to be acted on before the 24th. The only way the committee will act on this is if constituents hound them. Time to boot. Out the Seattle/Obama crowd Washingtonians! HB 1371 Adopting the Washington state firearms freedom act of 2013 and establishing penalties. Enforcing and supporting our Second Amendment rights and sending Federal Agents to prison if they should try to take guns from Washington State residents.
This would be a good start.

Any/all of those wannabe dictators, elected or unelected, who had anything to do with this bill need to be ejected from their office immediately.

In 2007, then Senator Barack Obama appeared on CNN´s Larry King Live and called on U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to resign. Obama said Gonzales was acting more like the president´s attorney than the people´s attorney and viewed himself as an "enabler of the administration." "Well, I voted against Alberto Gonzales confirmation for precisely the reason we are seeing now. I said this on the floor of the senate, that although he seemed to be a capable attorney, he seemed to conceive his role as being the president´s attorney instead of being the people´s attorney," Obama said.

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

The way to prevent abortionists like convicted murderer Kermit Gosnell from occurring again is to build more Planned Parenthood clinics, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) said at a House Judiciary Subcommittee hearing on Thursday about legislation that would prevent abortion after 20 weeks nationwide. “I would urge my colleagues to think about the extent to which he, Dr. Gosnell, represented the poor quality of health care services available in poorer communities,” Nadler said at the Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice hearing. “We should be working to make sure that high quality

House Speaker John A. Boehner on Thursday flatly ruled out chances of the House passing the Senate’s immigration bill, saying his chamber will debate its own bill instead. The Ohio Republican and his top lieutenants in the party issued a joint statement that seemed designed to tamp down some of the momentum behind the Senate bill, which emerged from a committee on a bipartisan 13-5 vote this week, and to stake out a House GOP position. “While we applaud the progress made by our Senate colleagues, there are numerous ways in which

During friendly questioning from Rep. Hank “I fear that Guam will capsize!” Johnson in Congress last week, Attorney General Eric Holder offered the following statement. In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material. This is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy. He made that statement before the facts about the sweep on Fox News’ James Rosen were known. Since then, it’s come to light that Holder himself approved the subpoena that, among other things, named Rosen as a criminal co-conspirator.

As the saying goes, scratch a liberal and you’ll find a tyrant underneath. NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo is but the latest example. He shoved a very restrictive and ill-considered gun law through the state legislature in the dead of night. Among its flaws, the law criminalized police officers who tote firearms with magazines that hold more than seven rounds. Sheriffs around the state have objected to the law. Cuomo summoned them to the state capitol under what appears to be a false pretext, and used the meeting to threaten them into silence. Cuomo invited

The National Council of La Raza (translation: The Race) has partnered with the Office of Personnel Management to encourage Hispanic activists and members to burrow into the federal government. A workshop sponsored by La Raza/The Race will take place in New Orleans on July 23, 2013. Senior Executive Service (SES) employees are federal government employees in special executive management positions, often with salaries approaching $200,000 per year (and well past that with benefits). Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

Fox News chief Roger Ailes has sent a memo to his subordinates at the leading cable news network. He sent this memo to his staff today in connection with the federal investigation into an alleged leak to Fox News reporter James Rosen, a story that the Washington Post’s Ann E. Marimow broke earlier this week. The memo’s a masterpiece, too. For all those who wonder what it is about Ailes that endears his people to him — and that makes him such a good interviewee for any media reporter lucky enough to get an audience

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway. It’s good for me to keep up on what’s going on around here.” “It’s not good when I turn on the news and they’re talking about something at the White House and I’m like, whoa, when did that happen?”
