| The GOP´s chances of winning the White House in 2016 are linked more closely to the political fortunes of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie than those of Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida. Rubio is the Tea Party wunderkind who was tapped by Republicans to give the GOP response to President Obama's State of the Union Address. He began his retort with a dusted off reference to his parents' emigration from Cuba to the United States. During his political ascendancy in Florida, Rubio often talked of how his mom and dad fled that Caribbean island after Fidel Castro came to power in 1959.

I don´t know who this airhead thinks he is, but the folks who compose the voting element of the GOP don´t live in New York or New Jersey. They believe that Marco Rubio is much closer to them than Chris Christie.
2016 will be interesting with Christie, Jindal, Rubio, Rand Paul and who knows who else vying to lead the party. The left however will not be dictating the candidate, they better spend their time shoring up what looks like a weak batch of democrats.

I may be wrong, but somehow I don´t think ole Chris will play well with republicans south of the Mason Dixon line and/or west of the big muddy. He sure won´t go over with this southern boy. That is one election I will just plain stay home or vote libratarian.

Since we are naming Conservative stars - Wisconsin´s Governor Scott Walker went through hell and came out stronger.
I really admire Ted Cruz - he´s strong, smart, and steady. Anyone who has argued at the Supreme Court more than any other Texas lawyer or member of Congress has to be very level headed. I don´t think he would call Obama a "nice guy but in over his head".
The GOP bench is deep. What we are lacking is someone who is innovative in marketing our candidate. Of course it helps if the candidate is a solid conservative but his/her ideas can appeal to non-Republicans.

I do not believe that someone named DuhWayne whose parents were killed in a murder/suicide is the best person to comment on GOP candidates for 2016. Of course he has to right and is entitled to write about it. Christie will be the John Huntsman of 2016. If the liberal media tells us we should vote for Christie, that means we need to run away screaming in the other direction.
Christie is a fat, blustering, classless fool. He stabbed Romney in the back when Romney needed him most. I understand that NY and NJ are having all kinds of problems with the Sandy response, but no one will call out Obama and FEMA. A Wappingers Falls man was sentenced to one to three years in prison for selling stolen property, a Dutchess County Court official says. He announced that he would compromise with Republicans, but would not give up his insistence that high-income Americans pay more taxes as part of any long-term deficit solution. Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.
