Pickle company agrees to
drop ´midget´

CRANSTON, R.I.- A U.S. pickle maker says it has agreed to stop calling a variety of small pickles "midgets" following a complaint by a Rhode Island woman. Chelley Martinka of Cranston began her campaign in December after she spotted a jar of Cains Kosher Dill Midgets in a supermarket, The Providence Journal reported Tuesday. Martinka has a 10-month-old daughter with dwarfism, which means she will be very short of stature. Martinka called and wrote Gedney Foods, the Minnesota company that owns the Cains brand, created a YouTube video and launched a blog.

The world of terminally offended people brings you another example of someone in too tight underwear!! And a company afraid of a lawsuit.

How about if we just start calling them "white man" pickles.....

Ban and confiscate all bottles of "midget" pickles. The proper term is height disadvantaged.

Keep the name. Put the midget pickles on the top shelf and she will never see them. There, fixed it.

I think we should call them "Little People" pickles. In fact, I feel so strongly about this that I´m going to go to Kroger´s and ask them where they keep the "Little People" pickles.

This ignorant woman doesn´t know that her child with dwarfism is not a midget. Midgets are little perfectly proportioned people. Her child will have disproportionately short limbs and other defects. Her main defect will be a mother who should have kept her mouth shut.

The pickle company has an out, though it may not sound zingy on a label - "homunculus".

Read on about dwarfism and midgets. Then send this on to intelligence-challenged Chelley Martinka.

Some people who are smaller than average chose their TV show to refer to them as Little People. Little People, Midgets, Dwarfs. This is now beyond ridiculous. It´s the same a n----- people calling them that name themselves but allowing no-one else to use the word. And black is now right or wrong? Colored, black, African-American. What about people from the Caribbean who are very black and know no relatives from Africa. Should we call them African-American. I am done with PC. I will call people whatever the hell I want to call them. If you don´t like it, sue me. For blacks, I will bring to court every song (really, song?) and foul-mouthed rant from black ´´celebrities´´ I can find. ENOUGH.

Here´s their wedding:

They seem to have sobered up since then and Chelley is now an activist for "little people". Getting the pickle company to surrender was probably her greatest coup since she snared Dave. And that wedding photographer.

Millions applaud the production of little bitty pickles, buy and eat them, and have no issue with the name.

One woman complains about a name that´s been around for a long time, and the name must be changed.

The Army said under the Military Code of Justice, Hasan’s salary cannot be suspended unless he is proven guilty. Not since George Wallace, perhaps, has an Alabamian taken as passionate a stand for a lost cause as the one Jeff Sessions is taking now. Bipartisan immigration legislation is making its way inexorably through the Senate Judiciary Committee. Although its ultimate fate is unclear, its passage by the committee is assured, and conservatives on the panel such as ranking Republican Chuck Grassley (Iowa) and Orrin Hatch (Utah) are doing what they can to improve the bill. Even firebrands such as Ted Cruz (Tex.) and Mike Lee (Utah) are holding fire. Then there’s Sessions. The wiry Southerner is on a one-man

On Sunday, President Barack Obama gave a commencement address at Morehouse College in Atlanta. “Keep setting an example for what it means to be a man,” he told the graduates. “Be the best husband to your wife, or boyfriend to your partner, or father to your children that you can be.” That’s what Obama said, according to the New York Times, USA Today, Politico, and dozens of other news organizations. But Obama never uttered those words. Here’s what he actually said: “Be the best husband to your wife, or your boyfriend, or your partner.” That’s not a small difference

Multitasking, job-hopping Chelsea Clinton has quietly taken on a big new job at New York University. The former first daughter has tackled what the school calls a “multifaith” role as co-founder and co-chair of its brand-new Of Many Institute. The program is described by the university as aiming to “develop multifaith dialogue and train multifaith leaders.” An NYU rep told us Clinton’s been involved with the institute “for some time,” but the school’s been keeping Clinton’s role incredibly quiet. There has never been a formal announcement nor a post on Clinton’s Facebook page.

An accused crack dealer is singing “Sweet Caroline” today. Former First Daughter Caroline Kennedy and her fellow jurors took just over an hour yesterday to acquit the Harlem man of charges that he sold four “nickel bag” crack rocks at $5 each to an undercover officer. Violent predicate felon Nelson Chatman, 31, smiled as the jury foreman rendered the verdict in the 2011 case after 75 minutes of deliberations. And Kennedy, 55, also smiled, slightly and politely, as jurors were individually asked by a clerk, “Is that your verdict?” “Yes,” Kennedy said when it was her turn,

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:
