Comcast pulls gun shop ads
from cable network

ABC12 (Flint, MI), by Kristen Abraham

Original Article

A gun shop owner said firearm manufacturers, distributors and retailers are being targeted unfairly after Comcast announces it´s dropping all gun shop ads from its nationwide cable network. The cable company recently acquired NBC Universal and this is a long standing policy there. When a local ad agency recently placed an order for Williams Gun Sight in Davison Township, it was denied. Owner Tom Wright said he´ll take his business elsewhere.

Comments:
What I find so outrageous is that Firearms are considered offending to Comcast but Male Enlargement pills are not. Perhaps if Firearm Dealers place advertising with a naked couple in a bathtub staring over the lake with their Remington´s, it´d be ok.

The fastest way to nip this in the bud. We need to have Gun Owners cancel their accounts. Give them a taste of their own medicine. The Dolan´s are all about the $$$´s. They live in NY and are big Cuomo supporters.

Well, this confirms that I made the correct choice to switch my Internet provider. I just wish that I had waited a week so that I could have given this as a reason as well.

I don´t have Comcast but if I did, after this report, I wouldn´t have it long. And so should other like-minded supporters of the Second Amendment. Drop Comcast.

They don´t advertise meth or cocaine or heroin, which is why no one uses it.

Why in the world would anyone intelligent advertise anything on any of the NBC entities.

After visiting a couple of my favorite gun shops over the last couple of weeks, I question the need for anyone in the gun business to advertize. At this point in time, it seems like wasted money.

Everyone is nearly sold out of everything.

That´s Comcastic.

What a dumb move. All Michiganders love their guns. Detroit gang-bangers love their guns. The law-abiding gun owners in the rest of the state (who are trying to protect themselves from the Detroit gang-bangers) love their guns.

Yet another reason NOT to use Comcast. I LOVE voting with my dollars!!

I have comcast. I have not seen a lack of gun adds here at least on the outdoor channel. I had never seen gun shop adds on TV, but I hear them on AM and even some FM radio stations all the time.

If as one commenter stated that Comcast has a government sanctioned monopoly in the city/county, then they should fall under the anti-discrimination statutes. The gun shop is a legally licensed concern carrying on business in the local community. People should petition their local government to rescend the contract to Comcast, and they should be prosecuted under the civil rights statutes.

Don´t patronize these folks! They think you are stupid and will prove it by violating the very essence of capitalism that has made this country the greatest in the world. Will these idiots never learn to simply pay attention to running a profitable business and leave the politics to those knuckle-dragging types within the beltway? They deserve to fail.

Comcast Spotlight, the advertising and sales division for Comcast Cable, has halted all ads having to do with guns on its nationwide network. “Comcast Spotlight has decided it will not accept new advertising for firearms or weapons moving forward,” the company said in a statement. “This policy aligns us with the guidelines in place at many media organizations.” This month, Comcast acquired NBC Universal in a $16.7 billion deal reported by Media Decoder.

Washington rumor has it that Obama wants to be U.N. Secretary General. There are several reasons that make that likely, and if it´s true, it throws new light on a lot of Obama´s oddities -- including his Royalty Bows, his Apology Tours, his Muslim Sellout, and the Benghazi Cover-Up. But first -- why would Obama be planning to become the chief of the U.N. before he has even finished his second term?

On Wednesday, Drummer Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, a man who had served Queen and country honorably in the hell of Helmand Province in Afghanistan, emerged from his barracks on Wellington Street, named after the Duke thereof, in southeast London. Minutes later, he was hacked to death in broad daylight and in full view of onlookers by two men with machetes who crowed "Allahu Akbar!" as they dumped his carcass in the middle of the street like so much roadkill. As grotesque as this act of savagery was, the aftermath was even more unsettling

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway. It’s good for me to keep up on what’s going on around here.” “It’s not good when I turn on the news and they’re talking about something at the White House and I’m like, whoa, when did that happen?”

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have reversed their longstanding membership guidelines to allow homosexuals to join the organization. In an email to CNSNews.com, the BSA public affairs office said the vote on the resolution to “remove the restriction denying membership to youth on the basis of sexual orientation alone” was passed with 61.44 percent in favor and 38.56 percent opposed. “For 103 years, the Boy Scouts of America has been a part of the fabric of this nation, with a focus on working together to deliver the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training,”

The Dots Already Lead To

Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails. If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.

A Washington state Democrat is accusing Republicans of “throwing American infrastructure … under the bus” after a bridge collapse there this week. The portion of Interstate 5 in Washington that runs over the Skagit River collapsed on Thursday after a truck hit an overhead support structure, but Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.) cited the incident in an interview as proof Republicans were blocking infrastructure investment to hurt President Obama politically. “Well, they have clearly spent the whole last five years trying to tear the president down, but they have done it by throwing the American infrastructure and
