| A father who stabbed a crazed burglar to death in his home was yesterday told by a coroner he was rightly “entitled” to defend his family with violence. Businessman Vincent Cooke, 41, was arrested on suspicion of murder after police found career criminal Raymond Jacob, 37, dead at his four-bed home. During the raid, Jacob and an accomplice held a knife to the throat of a terrified Mr Cooke saying: “We will ******* slit your throat. Get your money, get your jewellery--we will kill you.” [Snip] Grabbing a kitchen knife he stabbed drink and drug-fuelled Jacob in a violent tussle.

The UK police still arrested this man no matter what the circumstances! Basically, one cannot even defend their own life in the UK! This is how our politicans will have it here if we let them!

Another country who has it entirely backward. The founding fathers did more than they could have known by fostering the American Revolution. Great Britain´s influence on the political evolution of modern Canada, Australia and New Zealand created these same issues as in Great Britain: The criminals have all the rights; if you defend yourself, YOU can become the criminal.
That is just plain nutz. Thank you, founding fathers for stopping this infection before it spread!!

Note that it is not unusual for similar incidents to happen in the US. I know it happens in the metro Charleston area. Until the police have hard evidence to show that it was a clear case of self-defense during the commission of a crime, the person who kills is held in custody. I don´t know how long the man was held but it wouldn´t have been for long.

If I had slept through yesterday, woken up this morning, and gone online, I might have thought the EDL beheaded someone. There is a lot of displacement on Twitter and FB, as if it´s all too politically difficult and socially awkward to talk about the killers´ ideology, or the place of religion in that ideology. The charity said the site had been inundated with traffic after news broke that the victim, believed to be a serving soldier, had been wearing one of its T-shirts. One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.

The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
