Something strange is going on. Federal non-military agencies have bought two billion rounds of ammunition in the last 10 months. The Obama Administration says that federal law enforcement agents need the ammunition for “mandatory quarterly firearms qualifications and other training sessions.” Radio show host Mark Levin is suspicious. He commented: To provide some perspective, experts estimate that at the peak of the Iraq war American troops were firing around 5.5 million rounds per month. At that rate, the [Department of Homeland Security] is armed now for a 24-year Iraq war. A 24-year Iraq war!
Comments: It is so tiring being unsettled all the time about what is happening in this country. The sad reality is that there is very little, if anything, I can do about it.
Agree, OP. Every day another thing to worry about. BUT this is what we get with 4 more years of Obama, so we must reach deep down for strength to always be one step ahead. When I feel beaten down, I think back to the conditions of our ancestors during the Revolution, walking on snow and ice with nothing but rags on their feet, leaving trails of blood. They were up to the task, and shall we because we are Americans.
The concern is not so much about patriots in DHS being armed. In case of civil war, they will not fire on their neighbors, fellow patriots. If Obama is openly pushing for civil war, the patriots would get that ammo to us by the ton.
The real concern is that Obama has an army of radical, anti-American, anti-capitalist, anti-Jewish, anti-Christian jihadists. And the bullets may already be in their custody!!
´Suspicious´ doesn´t describe it. The *majority* of this ammo - from a year´s reporting now - is HOLLOW POINT AMMUNITION BANNED IN INTERNATIONAL WARFARE.
Thus we have an administration who won´t even act mildly tough with our *actual* enemies...
Stockpiling ammo with no other purpose (tho´ the Feds have claimed repeatedly, ´Hey, it´s just for target practice!) other than *shredding* anything it hits, and no targets in sight besides the American public.
And the jackass-in-chief thinks American citizen will ´give up´ any effective means of self-defense?
This is your government on drugs. *Strong* drugs...
I don´t readily believe they´re buying all the ammo to create a shortage for gun owners. The shortage will be short lived, unless they plan to buy them up for the indefinate future which I think is unlikely.
I see the ammo purchases as complementary to their purchase of large quantities of auto and semi-auto weaponry, communications gear, medical supplies, armored transport vehicles, etc.
Remember how Obama wanted a domestic fighting force as powerful as the military? I think DHS is building such a force. I think it´ll be a three tier force, comprised of the federal law enforcement agencies (with DHS leading it), state law agencies, and local law agencies, with DHS leading the three tier cooperative effort.
I think the ammo will be stockpiled, along with all the other materials being purchased, at various locations around the country. I suspect they´ll be located at federal, state, and local facilities in key locations.
The other day I saw a headline (didn´t get into the article) about a confidential informant inside DHS who said the agency is practicing to deal with a general uprising of the population.
Also, the other day I watched a 30 minute video on the current "Global Currency War" we´re involved in, and actually created, through our recent QE1 and QE2 printing of money, and still there are calls for a QE3. We´ve devalued our currency by around 20% which helps us pay our international debts and other countries are beginning to fight back by doing the same with their currency. And, a global race begins to have the cheapest currency.
Acording to the video, the two prior currency wars created the Great Depression, WW2, and the economic stagnation of the 1970s. The video further explained how currency wars ruin people´s savings and investments which could also result in civil unrest and upheaval, and international war.
When the population´s money is turned into worthless paper by the political class, how would the population react? Would there be a general uprising?
Lastly, there was an article the other day about a litmus test that Obama is putting to high-ranking military officers wanting to move up. According to the article, the litmus test is asking the officer if, under a certain scenario, he could order troops to fire on citizens.
I get the feeling that something wicked is coming this way.
It is to eliminate mass numbers of US citizens. "punish your enemies", "eliminate the opposition", "revenge" are oft spoken words by this regime. They have no desire to keep anyone around who does not adhere to the party line. We are now living under Pravda on the Potomac, and every other tin pot dictatorship since time immemorial.
OK, some of these comments are just kooky. Just sayin´.
However, one thing I´m not hearing, is what of these ammo manufacturers? Don´t you think that if someone who is a big shot in one of these companies would see a huge red flag when our Gummint is buying up (or submitting purchase orders for) so much ammo? Wouldn´t the Gummint submit to open bidding for a purchase of this size? This doesn´t pass the smell test to me. I´ll have to buy some ammo and get the low down on what is really going on.
Does anyone actually believe that with all the war technology at the government´s disposal, they would need that much low level technology to get the job done? They´re buying it up so that the people can´t.
President Obama has recalled John Podesta to work at the White House as a “counselor.” Podesta is the Clinton hand who founded the far-left Center for American Progress (home of the clownish Think Progress blog). Podesta’s appointment, which needs no congressional approval, comes at a time when Obama is already making moves to do without Congress. He has used executive actions to re-write Obamacare, and to recalibrate immigration law, both in ways that just happen to favor either himself or the Democrats. The New York Times reports that Podesta will work on executive actions when he returns to the White
On CNN’s “Reliable Sources” on Sunday, new host Brian Stelter turned to President Obama the press critic. At the end of his cakewalk “Hardball” interview last week, Obama called out the media for being divisive. “The American people are good and they are decent. And yes, we get very divided partly because our politics and our media specifically tries to divide them and splinter them.” Stelter asked a decent question about whether that was an odd statement to make on divisive MSNBC. NPR television critic Eric Deggans shot that down, insisting MSNBC was a “great place” to attack cable news
Former CIA Director Leon Panetta revealed classified information at a 2011 awards ceremony attended by Zero Dark Thirty filmmaker Mark Boal, according to documents obtained by the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch. The CIA allowed Boal, the screenwriter of Zero Dark Thirty, to attend a June 24, 2011 award ceremony celebrating the successful raid on Osama bin Laden’s hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan that May. A transcript of Panetta’s speech that night obtained by Judicial Watch is labeled “top secret,” and significant portions of it are redacted. At the conclusion his speech, Panetta told the audience, “You have made me proud
UPDATE: Rep. Paul Ryan and Sen. Patty Murray unveiled a budget proposal Tuesday night. The proposal, which has yet to be voted on, busts through sequester caps, setting FY 2014 spending at $1.014 trillion — billions beyond the levels mandated by sequester. The proposal contains no mention of pension reform. Conservatives had better start paying attention to the budget battle raging in Washington: If things go south — and they are poised to do just that — the tea party’s single greatest policy victory, the sequester, could be destroyed. And worse yet, it could be destroyed in exchange for nothing. The sequester
Approval of ObamaCare in the United States has risen eight percentage points in the last month, according to a new poll. Thirty-nine percent of people now approve of the law, according to a CBS News/New York Times poll released Tuesday evening. Half of the public, by contrast, disapproves of ObamaCare, the poll found. Nearly 60 percent say they don’t think the sign-up process for ObamaCare is going well, but more than one-third say it’s improving. These figures come in just ten days after the administration touted the repaired federal portal for the insurance, HealthCare.gov. Obama’s general job approval rating has increased to 42 percent,
Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.), in an appearance on MSNBC´s "PoliticsNation" on Friday, condemned former Sen. Rick Santorum´s comments comparing Nelson Mandela´s fight against apartheid to the fight against Obamacare as "shameful." "And actually if I was going to make a comparison, I would make the opposite comparison, because I think the struggle for justice, which Nelson Mandela led for so many years is similar as the struggle for the health care as a right for people in the richest country in the world, and so the idea that they would make that comparison in the opposite way is just tragic,"
According to a new Rasmussen Report, the majority of Americans do not believe the deportation of illegal immigrants living in the United States is aggressive enough. More than 20 House Democrats last week urged President Obama to halt the deportation of illegal immigrants until Congress passes a comprehensive immigration reform plan, but voters by a two-to-one margin oppose that idea. Most already think the federal government is not vigilant enough in deporting those who are in this country illegally. Only 29% of Likely U.S. Voters think the government should stop deporting illegal immigrants until Congress passes an immigration reform plan.
New York — The anchor who might beat Bill O’Reilly gets her eyelash extensions applied one at a time, with tweezers and dabs of glue, about 90 minutes before showtime, right after a motorized gun sprays foundation over her face, neck, shoulders, collarbone and sternum, wiping out a galaxy of light freckles that spreads across her — Let me stop you right there. Photos of the day Uruguay legalizes marijuana, Kiev police pull back from protesters, aging U.S. prison population and more. Tuesday´s Photos of the day Would you write this way about a man? About O’Reilly himself? At least that’s what Megyn Kelly might ask at
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
In August 2013 I became very sick with what I thought was a cold. After a few days I lost vision in my left eye and I checked into the hospital. I soon found out that what I thought was a summer cold was actually Strep bacteria poisoning my blood stream. The bacteria blinded my left eye, ate a hole through my heart, caused five strokes on both sides of my brain and forced the removal of my prosthetic left knee. Dr. Lee was the surgeon assigned to perform open heart surgery. What was originally scheduled to last four hours ended
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
President Obama’s job approval among American voters has dropped to negative territory with just 38 percent voicing their approval versus the 58 who says they disapprove, according to a national poll released Tuesday by the independent Quinnipiac University. That is one percent less than the 39% who said they approved of him in last month’s poll. The majority of the 2,692 registered voters the University in early December said that the president is not honest and trustworthy. When asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama is handling his job as President?,” respondents gave Obama lackluster ratings
