Steroids found at Blade
Runner’s mansion

BANNED steroid drugs were found in Oscar Pistorius’s house after he shot dead lover Reeva Steenkamp. Police also discovered a blood-stained cricket bat in the Blade Runner’s mansion in Pretoria, South Africa — and evidence of heavy drinking before the 3am shooting. (Snip) Phone records are also being checked after South African reports suggested Reeva got a late-night text from South African rugby star Francois Hougaard, a pal of Pistorius’s. Detectives believe Pistorius may have been angry at the text.

Comments:
Hougaard and Reeva were "close friends" before she began dating Pistorius in late November, and continued to be friends, sharing an agent, etc., etc., etc.

She did not live with Pistorius. Apparently she was spending the night. Her overnight bag was found. Anybody´s guess at this point whether she arrived before or after the heavy drinking. We´ll find out.

Whatever happened, she didn´t deserve to die like that. I note that he´s assembled a dream team of lawyers, medical specialists and PR people already. Poor girl.

FTA, A blood-stained cricket bat was found at the home in Pretoria, South Africa — and Reeva, 29, appeared to have skull “crush injuries”. Tests will establish whether she was injured by the bat before being shot.

Also according to police reports, she appears to have been shot in the hip before fleeing to the bathroom and being shot 3 more times.

Yeah, right, he forgot she was spending the night and had to shoot the "intruder" in two different rooms - all the while she didn´t make a sound. Yeah, right.

Ultimately, his legal team will claim ´roid rage´ - he´s not responsible for his actions. The steroids made him do it. Hope her family doesn´t let him get away with that excuse.

Unlike the OJ Simpson killing, Pistorius has admitted he shot Reeva. His legal team may try the OJ defense, blaming bungling police work to mitigate the sentence. There is already one report that the police only showed up 2 hours after the first neighbor called.

This whole story should not have happened.
He was a below average runner that got assistance from carbon fiber spring legs. He claimed they did not help him be faster, but when he lost the World Championships to another "blade runner" he complained the other runner had and advantage due to the style of "blades" he was running on.
If there was not advantage to blades, how can one blade be better than another?
Now it seems he was doing Steroids also.
He got his undeserved 15 minutes of fame and now a beautiful girl is dead.

I would comment that Pistorius was a hero with feet of clay, but of course, that would be ridiculous.

NEW YORK - Last week´s Heartbleed Internet bug revealed a startling fact. The software protecting banks, email, social media and government is maintained by only a few people. They´re all volunteers. And only one does it as a full-time job. Their labor of love is OpenSSL, a free program that secures a lot of online communication. And it was a tiny coding slip-up two years ago that caused the Heartbleed bug, a hole that allows attackers to peer into computers. The bug forced emergency changes last week at major websites like Facebook (FB, Fortune 500), Google (GOOG, Fortune 500) and Yahoo (YHOO,

People who have accounts on the enrollment website for President Barack Obama´s signature health care law are being told to change their passwords following an administration-wide review of the government´s vulnerability to the confounding Heartbleed Internet security flaw. Senior administration officials said there is no indication that the HealthCare.gov site has been compromised and the action is being taken out of an abundance of caution. The government´s Heartbleed review is ongoing, the officials said, and users of other websites may also be told to change their passwords in the coming days, including those with accounts on the popular

JACKSON, Wyo. – A slow-motion disaster continued unfolding in the Wyoming resort town of Jackson on Saturday, as a creeping landslide that split a hillside home threatened to swallow up more houses and businesses. The ground beneath the 100-foot hillside had been slowly giving way for almost two weeks before the downward movement accelerated in recent days. With rocks and dirt tumbling down, officials suspended efforts to shore up the slope and said they were uncertain what else could be done. "When is it going to go? How long is it going to last? AUSTIN — Documents related to Sen. Wendy Davis’ work as a lawyer for the North Texas Tollway Authority are part of an FBI inquiry of the agency, Travis County officials say. It’s not clear whether Davis’ work for the tollway authority is a focus of the FBI or only part of the material collected in connection with its look into tollway agency operations. The Travis County district attorney’s office said last month that details from its review of a 2012 complaint that a rival filed about Davis’ legal and political activities were “the subject of an open investigation” by the

Jindo, South Korea -- A passenger describes women screaming in the darkness. A father learns his child is trapped. A son, fearing death, tells his mother he loves her. Investigators haven´t said what caused a South Korean ferry boat carrying hundreds of passengers to capsize on Wednesday. But as rescuers searched frigid waters for nearly 300 missing people, text messages purporting to be from missing passengers surfaced, describing the harrowing moments after the ferry started to roll.(Snip) On Thursday, the semi-official Yonhap News Agency reported that police now believe the messages supposedly sent after the ferry sank were fake.

A Nebraska toddler had his eye on the prize when he slipped out of his home and wound up inside a claw machine at a nearby arcade. Ashley Ireland had called police and begun a frantic search for her son, Kael, after he went missing from her apartment on Monday afternoon. The three-year-old had managed to open the front door and walk to the nearby amusement arcade, where he was found playing with stuffed toys inside one of the machines. After presenting at the Academy Awards this year, Kim Novak didn’t want to leave her house. The Hitchcock screen siren, 81, was too humiliated to venture from her home near the Rogue River in Oregon. She read the cruel posts and Internet snark about her appearance, and it was just too much. “It got to me like it gets kids and teenagers,” she told the Associated Press. The “Vertigo” actress, considered one of the great beauties in her day, posted a note on her Facebook wall Thursday, acknowledging that she’d gotten fat injections in her face and addressing her halted

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our
