| PALM CITY, Fla. – President Obama on Sunday displayed the freedom that comes with not having another election ahead of him, golfing with Tiger Woods in an enclave of privilege here along Florida’s blustery Atlantic coast. Since his reelection in November, Obama has been talking about the perils facing America’s middle class, highlighted in his State of the Union address last week. On Friday he visited a public high school in his hometown of Chicago, where he spoke in personal terms about the need to reduce gun violence and create jobs in the country’s troubled urban areas.

The fact that Obama is taking golf lessons seems ominous.
Without having to run for re-election -- an activity which took up most of his time during his first term -- would anyone be surprised if Obama has decided to dedicate his second term to improving his golf game with the goal of entering the professional golf tour after he leaves the White House?
Of course it seems preposterous -- to normal people. But Obama is not normal -- he´s an arrogant egomaniac with delusions of grandeur.
But why shouldn´t Obama believe he can win the U.S. Open, when there are undoubtedly officials who can be bribed and threatened in the professional golf world, as there have been in every endeavor he´s succeeded in?

President Obama has returned to Washington, from his solo vacation. He finally talked with the press on the ride back. Via the pool report: AF1 wheels down Andrews at 7:45pm. POTUS came back to have a 10-minute off the record talk with pool at the end of the flight. Reggie Love departed AF1 soon after POTUS, apparently a guest for the weekend. Marine One wheels up 7:55 pm

President Obama summoned congressional leaders to a Friday summit at the White House in a last-ditch effort to protect taxpayers, unemployed workers and the fragile U.S. recovery from severe austerity measures set to hit in just four days. Also Thursday, House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) announced that he would call the House back into session this weekend. And in perhaps the most significant development, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) for the first time was engaged directly in talks with the White House. He signaled an interest in cutting a deal.

With financial negotiations all but halted, President Obama was headed out of Washington on Friday evening for his annual winter vacation in Hawaii. Obama is likely to have a short trip this year; aides said he is scheduled to return Wednesday, a day after Christmas, to resume discussions with congressional leaders on how to avert the fiscal cliff. “Merry Christmas – because we didn’t get this done, I’ll see you next week,” Obama said after telling reporters he still had hope of striking a deal to prevent taxes from rising on the middle class next year.

Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton Tweeted the helicopters people heard over Danbury today were an advance team setting up for a possible presidential visit early next week. "We don´t know when at this point," Boughton said. The helicopters visited Danbury Municipal Airport and other locations in the city. The mayor didn´t know if the helicopters visited Newtown yet. One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.

The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. Eva Longoria is backing up her beauty with a whole lot of brain. The actress graduated with a master´s degree Wednesday. Longoria, 38, took home a real degree (not an honorary one) in Chicano studies from Cal State Northridge, where she physically attended classes for three years, according to TMZ. "Big day today!!! Very excited to graduate for my master´s degree in Chicano studies! On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
