LOS ANGELES — Dozens of protesters rallied outside Los Angeles police headquarters Saturday in support of Christopher Dorner, the former LAPD officer and suspected killer of four who died after a shootout and fire this week at a mountain cabin following one of the biggest manhunts in recent memory. Protesters told the Los Angeles Times (http://lat.ms/11Ndm6i ) they didn´t support Dorner´s deadly methods, but objected to police corruption and brutality, and believed Dorner´s claims of racism and unfair treatment by the department. Many said they were angered by the conduct of the manhunt that led to Dorner´s death and injuries

So this murderer has idiots wanting his name cleared. What a dispicable group of people. Dorner wrote the narrative for his demise nobody else did, he did the killing and he will have forever murderer attached to his name.

"dozens" in a city of 3 million . . . what a non-story . . . the a-pee is beneath scorn . . .

This black, murdering thug was fired by a Cali city known for its liberal idiocy.Do you realize how much evidence must be gathered to even CONSIDER firing a protected race let alone actually get the job done.
So the idea that he was treated "unfairly" is total RUBBISH!

This man was no Jesse James, who was supposedly the "Robin Hood" of the West. He was more like Billy the Kid, who killed just for the fun of it. It was the media who glorified these fellows. It is the media and academia who appear to be glorifying this cold blooded killer. Where will the madness stop? If everyone that had a bone to pick, started killing people, the whole country would be gone in a few days. Dorner was mentlly ill, and went too far off the edge of civility. Now that he had a shoot out and died in a blaze, I expect many fictional stories and songs will glorify his "stand up to the man" final days. Alas?

Thinking about this "rally" reminds me of what an old Irish protestant said once while he was watching an IRA parade in Belfast: "Wouldn´t you know it, there´s never a sniper around when you need one."

These are psychologically immature people in the grip of entitlement fantasies. When things do not go their way, temper tantrums and homicidal rage result - and revenge is the order of the day. Civilization itself is the cause of such infantile types. Life has been too easy for them, they have not been sufficiently challenged or had to struggle with reality. They dwell in a fantasy world in which everything is supposed to be fair -as they understand fairness. They easily become enraged and vindictive when events do not conform to their desires. It is not fair that life is not fair! Someone is to blame! Someone has to pay! This childishness underlies much so-called "liberal," i.e. dogmatic, grandiose, intolerant, deeply malicious ideology.

What complicates this thing is that Dorner was quite possibly telling the truth about what he saw, and the "blue machine" responded the same way they always do to whistle blowers and got him fired for it.

I wouldn´t doubt that a bit...

They may have a cause, but they made a mistake in their choice of a poster child.

How can he be a murderer? Under our system of law one is innocent until proven guilty. He was never tried and found guilty, because the cops executed him instead of arresting. There were non-lethal methods that could have been used.

Reply 12 - Posted by: bubby, 2/17/2013 11:13:08 AM     (No. 9181511)

Why do "Dozens" of protesters supporting this murderous thug even get an article? If there were a dozen protesting the so called "right" to an abortion would they get an article of course not. I loathe press more that bill clinton loathed the military.

#11 you are one of the sick people we are talking about! This murderer (by own admission) was cornered and killed by his own hand! Dorner had already killed 3 cops, threatened to kill as many as possible, was a highly trained killer and you wanted him shot with bean bags! You are an unrealistic idiot!

LOS ANGELES -- flocking to Southern California beaches are used to feeding the meter or paying a parking attendant. Not so along the less developed north coast where it´s customary to ditch cars on the shoulder of Highway 1 to surf, swim or picnic. That sandy line that long defined the state´s disparate beach culture may soon fade. In search of new revenue, the state parks system is eyeing parking fees for parts of the Northern California shoreline where none existed or considering hiking rates to visit popular beaches south of Los Angeles during peak periods.

CAIRO — The pale, young Christian woman sat handcuffed in the courtroom, accused of insulting Islam while teaching history of religions to fourth-graders. A team of Islamist lawyers with long beards sang in unison, "All except the Prophet Muhammad." (Snip) Blasphemy charges were not uncommon in Egypt under the now-ousted autocrat Hosni Mubarak´s regime, but there has been a surge in such cases in recent months, according to rights activists. The trend is widely seen as a reflection of the growing power and confidence of Islamists, particularly the ultraconservative Salafis. "Salafis are the engineers of these stories,"

A shooting as the Warriors game let out Thursday night left two fans dead - the driver of a Porsche was killed by bullets and the passenger was killed as he staggered out onto Interstate 880 in Oakland. Now, police are turning to Warriors fans and nearby surveillance video from the O.co Coliseum for help in finding the killers. Oakland police spokeswoman Johnna Watson said Friday that the two men were leaving the arena about 10:35 p.m., when the shooting broke out. The victims identities were not released Friday, but the driver was a 30-year-old man

Two Metro-North Railroad trains collided after a derailment near Fairfield, Conn., at the height of the evening rush on Friday, injuring 60 people, 5 of them critically, and snarling transit corridors in the Northeast, the authorities said. An eastbound train heading toward New Haven derailed at the Bridgeport-Fairfield border, just east of Fairfield Metro Station at about 6:10 p.m., careening into a westbound train on an adjacent track, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Palm Beach, Fla. - On a Monday morning in March, small business owner Mike Ruffer told a group at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C, how his eight Five Guys Burgers and Fries franchise restaurants in North Carolina were faring under the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare. Five hours later, the backlash was so intense he had to wonder if that 15-minute speech might kill his company. In fact, Mr. Ruffer is the most recent victim in a troubling pattern of seemingly orchestrated campaigns to silence small business owners who speak out about President Obama’s agenda.

WASHINGTON - The number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits climbed last week at the fastest pace in six months, a worrisome sign for the economy which has been hit by government austerity. Initial claims for state unemployment benefits jumped by 32,000 to a seasonally adjusted 360,000, the Labor Department said on Thursday. That was the biggest jump since November and confounded analysts´ expectations for a more modest increase. Claims for the prior week were revised to show 5,000 more applications received than previously reported. A Labor Department analyst said no states had estimated their data

WASHINGTON — Faced with a trio of controversies, President Barack Obama is trying to halt a perception spreading among both White House opponents and allies that he has been passive and disengaged as unexpected developments consume his second term. The new strategy, underscored in a flurry of new White House actions, signals an Obama team anxious to regain control amid controversies that have emboldened Republicans and threatened to plunge the president´s second term into a steady stream of congressional investigations. On Wednesday, Obama released a trove of documents related to the Benghazi attacks amid revived pressure from Republicans.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
