| Writing in the WSJ earlier this week Ed Lu and Martin Rees remind us that our planet is forever traveling through a dangerous neighborhood (not that the people of Chelyabinsk will need reminding of that), and, quite correctly, argue that we should take a few precautions: …The chance in your lifetime of an even bigger asteroid impact on Earth [than Tunguska in 1908]—with explosive energy of 100 megatons of TNT—is about 1%. Such an impact would deliver many times the explosive energy of all the munitions used in World War II, including the atomic bombs.

Word coming out of Russia now is that the air burst above the city was 3000 or 30,000 times the Japan bombs depending on who you believe. Begging the question, was this a separate event and near disaster for earth totally unseen before hand or a piece of the 17,000 mile fly by and warning to us all?

As CNN has pointed out to us, global warming is causing these meteors and astroids. According to Algore, it is only going to get worse as GW rapidly increases and spreads over the earth. The sky it literally falling on us. s/o

As long as politicians can blame it on God (as in Act of God) and have bunkers they can retreat to as necessary, no significant outlay of money will be appropriated to avert this problem. To them the money is better spent on buying votes. A major strike would also kill a lot of the species they believe is a cancer to Mother Earth - her long past due cosmic mass abortion.
What constitutes the current political realm makes orcs honorable in comparison - gollums all with withered souls and diseased minds possessed by the self´s lust for power.

The Senate on Monday opened debate on a $955 billion farm bill that would reduce federal spending by as much as $23 billion over the next 10 years by cutting funding for food stamps and eliminating some farm-support programs. The first lady went to Bowie State and addressed the graduating class. Her speech was a mix of black history and a salute to the graduates. (Snip) It takes a man of particular vision to know, as Obama did, that the country really was ready to send an African American to the White House. But I also think that some day historians will pore over his many speeches to black audiences. They will see a president who sought to hold black people accountable for their communities, but was disdainful of those who looked at him and sought the same.

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement
