Report: $2 billion spent annually
for Medicaid emergencies, largely

Even though federal law largely bars illegal immigrants from obtaining Medicaid coverage, the program annually pays out more than $2 billion in free emergency coverage that mostly goes to illegal immigrants, according to Kaiser Health News. The vast majority of the total emergency care reimbursements cover delivering babies, Kaiser reports. Based on a Kaiser data analysis of the states believed to have the greatest populations of illegal immigrants — including California, New York, Texas, North Carolina, Arizona, Illinois and Florida — more than 100,000 people annually receive

Comments:
This is probably a low estimate. No wonder this country is going bankrupt. Federal law largely bars illegal immigrants from obtaining Medicaid coverage?? So why is this allowed. We know exactly why. And they tell us they won´t be eligible for 0bamacare. There aren´t enough words in the English language to describe how outrageous this.

I agree that two billion is a lowball guesstimate--my guess is twenty billions or more.

Absolute madness! We live in a very foolish country.

They are not immigrants. They are economic invaders. This is one of the ways they steal our money.

Reply 4 - Posted by: bighambone, 2/16/2013 12:02:52 PM     (No. 9180089)

This is what happens when the immigration laws are not enforced throughout the entire country, and illegal aliens are allowed to simply stay here, instead of being removed.

Obama and the liberal Democrats now want to legalize the 11 to 20 million illegal aliens here now and put them on a "path to citizenship". Once given citizenship and voting rights, they will then all be able to bring their foreign parents here in unlimited numbers. Since those foreign parents will range in age from middle age to elderly they are going to need a lot of expensive health care, including a lot of long term residential care. $2 billion will only be a drop in the bucket if the wimpy Republicans allow that to happen.

So make it $3billion on condition the baby and parents leave the country.

See, illegal migration really is an economic issue; a reminder for those of you who rail against the so-cons/purity patrol. Now, can we get some support for the enforcement of the laws already on the books? Thought not.

In most large cities, Medicaid already covers more than 60% of all births... What did you expect?

Considering that each new born is worth 4-5 votes each election cycle for the Democrats, it´s far more important to continue to fund this rather than worry about a few laws broken...the concept of treason has to be adapted to party needs after all. It must be a "living document."

This has to be pretty close to Dem policy in this area.

A#3: They are future democrat voters and that is why it is allowed. Just as some republican governors are beginning to cave to Obamacare, the GOP will eventually cave on immigration too.

Three million registered republicans stayed home last November. These are but two reasons why.

While at it look at the anchor babies coming from not only Mexico, but also from China, Turkey, Saudi etc etc. not just deliveries, but caring for premature babies too!

What a fluff piece. Soon as that Anchor baby drops everyone in the household is elgible for food stamps, emergency cash, you name it.

If you really want your blood to boil, go online to your state web site and fill out the food stamp application.

Let us not forget it´s tax season for those child credits also.

White House planted “doctored” email narrative in press, then used press reports to push the “doctored” narrative as a political talking point I saw this coming from a mile away. When the White House leaked a single email about Benghazi to Jake Tapper, it launched a war on Jon Karl and Stephen Hayes because the wording of the email varied slightly from the accounts in their reporting. Their reporting, however, was based on summaries because the originals had not been released by the White House, but both reporters stood by the substance of their reporting.

Bill O’Reilly is definitely not a psychiatrist, but that didn’t stop him from offering up his own diagnosis of President Obama‘s “control” issues on Laura Ingraham‘s radio show Monday. According to O’Reilly, growing up without a father in the house has led directly to Obama’s desire to “control his environment” in the White House. O’Reilly told Ingraham that “control” is a “hallmark of Barack Obama’s personality.” He mused, “I don’t want to be a psychiatrist here, but when you’re a kid raised in a real turbulent situation… no authoratative figure, no father, all of that,

Senate panel OKs tax-welfare

The SenateJudiciary Committee voted Monday to allow illegal immigrants who get legal status to begin collecting tax-welfare payments, as the panel spent a fourth day working through amendments to the massive immigration bill and party-line splits began to emerge. In one major change, the committee voted 17-1 to make a third drunken-driving conviction a deportable offense for the newly legalized immigrants if at least one of those offenses occurs after they are approved for legal status. But immigrant-rights groups called that a rollback of due-process rights for the immigrants and said a drunken-driving incident

A vomitous human being. This is really the only way to describe one Lizz Winstead, the co-creator of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show. She’s also the author of following tweet that went out to her 75,000 followers not long after a two-mile-wide tornado destroyed the town of Moore, Oklahoma. Among the 51 dead (the death toll as of 11:40 PM EST Monday) are a reported 20 children–many of whom died at an Elementary School in town–along with mothers, fathers, whole families. Some may be buried alive. The IRS targeted conservatives. God is doing the same with this tornado.

The “charity” run by President Barack Obama’s half-brother that was fast-tracked for IRS tax-exempt status is based at a Virginia UPS store, according to its website. The organization’s IRS filings list another Virginia address that is actually a drug rehab center where the foundation does not appear ever to have been based. The Barack H. Obama Foundation is run by Abon’go “Roy” Malik Obama, the half-brother of Barack Obama. As first reported by The Daily Caller, the foundation was speedily approved for IRS exemption by Lois Lerner, the IRS senior official at the center

We now know that the Justice Department kept exceptionally close tabs on Fox News reporter James Rosen in 2010, following his trips in and out of the State Department, hacking his personal emails and phone calls. Normal newsgathering activities are being treated as criminal activities by the White House. But consider what the same White House had to say about Fox News back in 2009. You might remember the concerted effort by White House officials to brand the right-leaning Fox News as a bogus news outlet, unworthy of attention.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement
