| The rules say the conclave has to begin 15 to 20 days after the death of the Pope. In the current case, of course, there is no death of the Pope, and thus no need for the traditional Novemdiales period of nine days’ mourning; this, combined with the fact that the world’s cardinals were given ample (17 days) notice of a vacancy in the papal office, made me think it reasonable that the cardinals could move speedily to an election, in the first couple of weeks of March. I am not Catholic, but I am watching the proceedings in Rome with much interest. The Church will need a strong Pope to combat the slide into liberalism that is happening with the CINOs in America.

The quip at the end about everybody being Irish on St. Patrick´s Day is cute. St Patrick himself, was extraordinary - maybe the extra time will give the cardinals more leeway to choose someone as exceptional as he.

No one details that the Catholic Church has gained over two hundred million members in the last decade and now stands at a count of 1.2 billion.

Interestingly, as soon as the Pope announced his resignation the Leftist media began "pontificating". It advised the Cardinals that they must select a New Pope who will accommodate the church to today´s Liberal trends regarding such things as same-sex marriage, etc - oh, and of course, the church must select a black Pope.

Last Thursday, Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) started a Twitter prairie fire with his call for people to describe #ObamacareInThreeWords. I first saw the headline early Tuesday on Real Clear Politics, a political news site where I generally start my morning. It´s not where I expect to see a story on breast cancer. Then I checked my e-mail messages -- they all seemed to be about Angelina Jolie´s op-ed. Students in my undergraduate class wanted to discuss it in our next session. Colleagues expressed concern and wondered what the right response was. People I don´t even know sent e-mails. Just when you think the news surrounding Obamagate cannot get any worse, it does. Some say U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s days on the job are numbered and that it’s just a matter of when he’ll be forced to resign. While I’ll not shed a tear over Holder’s departure, one of the replacement names being floated has me reaching for tissues: Gov. Deval Patrick. Patrick has denied he’s interested — but the job isn’t on offer yet. If it is, President Obama should not select him nor should he be confirmed by the Senate for a plethora of reasons.

White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued.
