| Turmoil deepened Friday among leading Republicans over efforts to ward off controversial candidates in the next election, as Iowa Republican Gov. Terry Branstad blasted a new candidate-steering plan by Karl Rove and warned him to stay out of state and congressional races. “I basically told Karl Rove that what he was doing is counterproductive and he needs to stay out of it,” said Branstad, recounting a phone call to Rove, the leader of the new Conservative Victory Project super PAC.

I think Rove´s philosophy is,pick a candidate and give him plenty of money to run ads against his opponent. The tea party´s is pick a candidate who will do what they´re elected to do and that´s oversee the government. I understand the importance of sheer numbers but if the ones elected are there for show,they´re not accomplishing anything.
Every election has a loser,so there´s no perfect way to come up with a winner every time,whether you´re well funded or not.

When you look back at the very public, very controversial comments by the Aikens of that election, I have to ask: Where did the reporters get the line of questioning that resulted in the gaffes? Were the politicians set up? And by whom? Did a ´helpful´ Rovian have an off the cuff discussion on the subjects involved? Were the reporters then informed what questions should be asked to spark the comments?
RINOs are simply undercover Democrats, or rather, GOP Elites and Democrat Elites are the same family wearing different colored jackets.
How many other TEA Party candidates dodged the Aiken bullet?

Iowans generally think for themselves, with the notable exception of the cattle prodding they got from Obama´s organized community of Chicago thugs that visited them in the 2008 caucuses. Lots of Hillary supporters are still smarting from that outrageous intimidation.

Is there anyone remaining with an IQ above room temperature who actually believes that the Republican Party believes in limited government, as defined by the U.S. constitution? If so, they have either been hibernating or have been in complete self-denial. Every election cycle the Republican Party counts on its “conservative base” to dutifully turn out and mark their ballot for whatever candidate has been selected by the GOP leadership. We are told ad infinitum that doing so will keep the Democrat liberal demons from furthering their agenda. The inside-the-beltway establishment has been chanting this mantra for years

People continually complain that with the different faces who have disgraced the Offices of the President and Vice President, the one hundred (100) seats within the Senate and the four hundred thirty-five (435) seats within the House of Representatives, nothing improves for the masses, only for those who are elected and special interests. This is frustrating and we need to assess why, so we can change this ‘continuing resolution’. It appears that the GOP and the Democrat Party have merged.

Senator Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) has been front and center during the latter days of the sequestration showdown, which is good, because he literally wrote the book on government waste. He produces a new edition of his “Wastebook” every year, chronicling the most absurd abuses of taxpayer money. It is wise for Republicans to bring up these horror stories when Obama is racing around the country and insisting that a 2.3 percent reduction in the rate of government growth means we can’t have firefighters or border security. The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have reversed their longstanding membership guidelines to allow homosexuals to join the organization. Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails. If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.

The murder of a soldier in south London on Wednesday has prompted fears of a backlash against British Muslims after the English Defence League staged an impromptu rally in the capital and two mosques were attacked.
