Washington University holds porn
star panel in main university chapel

The Daily Caller, by Eric Owens

Original Article

At Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, students are perpetually lamenting the fact that their excellent Midwestern school isn’t mentioned more often with Ivy-caliber powerhouses. Well, this story probably isn’t going to help. Campus Reform reports that Wash. U hosted numerous porn stars in its main chapel, in a panel called “A Night With the Stars: Life, Love, and Sex in the Workplace.” It featured presentations from adult film industry stars Tori Black, James Deen and Lance Hart.

Comments:
In the Chapel? In the CHAPEL?! While I´m sure this was probably a big hit on what´s left of Fraternity Row, I cannot see what legitimate purpose this could possibly have served. This is what comes of celebrating diversity. To paraphrase what Father Malachi Martin once said about the Vatican: "The smoke of Satan has entered Brookings Hall." I´m glad I graduated when it was still a respectable institution. Whoever allowed this should be canned...now!

OP, I sometimes wonder what the late Father Malachi Martin and Bishop Fulton J. Sheen would say about the state of the Church today. They would NOT be silent. I find it stunning they actually held this panel in a Chapel.

From the routinely despicable treatment by the MSM, Hollywood, universities, high schools, middle schools and gradeschools, you are witnessing the organised persecution of Christians.

It isn´t going to get better.

In fact, it´s going to get much, much worse.

...don´t know if there are any adults at Washington University, but sometimes it´s necessary to step in and tell the children how best to spend their money...

...decade after decade there have been stories such as this. To have sanctioned it for the Chapel is a new low though and more than likely, intentional...

What is the board of directors doing? What good are they if they do not act promptly and strongly, including rolling at least one highly placed head?

My wife works there and *hates* the far-left attitude of most of the campus. This will not amuse her.

What few conservatives there are, are almost like a secret society, afraid to announce themselves. Ditto for anyone who says anything pro-gun. And my wife is an avid shooter. Sometimes--very rarely--she´ll wear a Beretta polo shirt to work, and occasionally someone will ask about it.

She hates it, does NOT want me to come to her office (I am not exactly reticent about calling BS), but it does pay for our four kids´ tuitions in almost any college in the country.

Only a short time until she can retire from there, bennies intact.

When the strategy is to destroy family & religion... they have to be replaced with something... preferably something shameful so the kids grow up ashamed & nowhere to turn for guidance than the gov´t.

#7, you must be thinking of SLU, St. Louis University. It´s Jesuit.

Wash U doesn´t have the backing of any religious institution . . . though one of the founders was Unitarian.

The names of the six-member jury panel that acquitted George Zimmerman in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin have been made public for the first time, after a new court order, records show. Circuit Judge Debra Nelson, who had previously ordered the jurors´ identifying information be kept confidential, granted access to the names in a ruling March 21. Zimmerman´s defense asked the judge in June to keep the names secret until six months after the verdict. (Snip) Attempts to reach the jurors by phone and in-person Thursday were unsuccessful.

The Obama administration has turned down an urgent appeal from Egypt’s government for the delivery of U.S. Apache attack helicopters needed for counterterrorism operations in the Sinai Peninsula. U.S. officials and a Western diplomat said the 10 AH-64 attack helicopters had been blocked from delivery in October in response to the administration’s opposition to the military ouster of Muslim Brotherhood President Mohammad Morsi last year. President Barack Obama, his wife and the first daughters may have to cut their latest vacation short because of Russia’s meddling in Ukraine. The Obama family’s current plan for the weekend is to escape the cold, snowy doldrums of Washington, D.C. for some rest and relaxation in sunny Key Largo, Fla., reports the Daily Mail. However, despite Obama’s earnest invocations of international law, pro-Russian forces and the Russian government are making swift military and political moves in Ukraine’s Crimea region. Consequently, the Key Largo holiday could be in peril. “It is possible the president may return to the White House

More than half of the voters polled rated his performance "fair" or "poor," according to the Marist College/The Wall Street Journal/WNBC poll. Just ten percent of voters gave de Blasio the highest "excellent" mark while 29 percent categorized his performance as good. Cop-killer case sinks

Senators blocked President Obama’s nominee to lead the Justice Department’s civil rights division Wednesday in a bipartisan filibuster, with opponents saying his history defending a convicted cop-killer in the Supreme Court made him a poor choice. The defeat of Debo P. Adegbile, who as an attorney for the NAACP backed appeals by former Black Panther Mumia Abu-Jamal, is a major blow to Mr. Obama. Democrats changed the rules last year to overcome filibusters with just 50 votes, but Majority Leader Harry Reid couldn’t even muster all of his own troops Wednesday.

President Barack Obama is warning Russia "there will be costs" for any military maneuvers it launches in Ukraine, a move U.S. and Ukrainian officials say they believe to be already underway. Officials say Obama may retaliate by canceling a trip to Russia this summer for an international summit and could also cut off trade discussions with Moscow. But it´s unclear whether those moves will have any impact on Russia´s calculus in Ukraine, which is at the center of what many see as a tug of war between East and West. "Any violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity would be deeply destabilizing," Obama declared Friday

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

President Obama inspired a generation of young people to support his historic election in 2008. And in 2012, despite the struggles of his first term, Mr. Obama still managed to win the support of a full 60% of voters age 18-29. But the man who once dreamed of being a transformative leader in the Reagan mold is inspiring few of those young people to follow his lead. "For all the talk about the movement that elected Mr. Obama, the more notable movement of Obama supporters has been away from politics. It appears that few of the young people who voted

Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as
