Democrats: No VT Skiing,
Maryland Destroyed If Global
Warming Not Addressed

Cybercast News Service, by Matt Cover

A group of House Democrats labeling themselves the Safe Climate Caucus held a press conference today to warn that if Congress does not address global warming, the country could face dire consequences, including detrimental effects to California wines and an end to Vermont skiing. One Democratic representative even worried that global warming could destroy the state of Maryland. “If we do nothing about what is happening, it will destroy our economy, it will destroy our state, and it will have a broad impact not just here in this country but around the world,”

Comments:
In a just world these fools would be laughed at and mocked for their ridiculous, insane theories. What´s so frightening is that there are some Republicans who buy into this nonsense and we will be the ones who suffer for it.

I call BS. We could stop burning all fuels and we wouldn´t slow the increase of CO2 in the air. China, India and Russia would more than pull up the slack.

Let´s see. I don´t ski so I only feel sorry for the Ldotters who do. I can very happily drink wine from right here in Alabama (a lot of it is very good) and if I could find a good detour around I-95 I could care less if Maryland ended up in the Chesapeake, other than the pollution it would cause.

Will someone please explain to these fools, what happened to the American economy with the melting of the Glaciers that covered most of the North American Continent (over time).
What caused the progressive melting which started long before man emmerged on the continent?

It would be nice if the "reporters" would analyze all the outrages predictive claims made 20 years ago about what life would be like by the 2000´s if global warming wasn´t address. I remember in the 70´s they tried to push global cooling.

But I every time it snows more or gets colder they blame that on global warming. That means that if we have more global warming we will get even colder winters and more snow and maybe have year-round skiing. We just have to adjust to the increased asteroids and we´ll be fine.

Time to get these moonbats back to their rubber rooms.

What they are saying is we need higher prices on gasoline, home heating oil, electricty, and any other energy use.

This will cost more tax $$ to fund the various gov´t agencies who use any of those inputs making gov´t more costly.

This will cost more for those particularly on fixed incomes, welfare, and those eeking out a living paycheck-to-paycheck.

This is not about clean air or clean water.

This is their ploy to stop the development of our natural resources that have the ability to fund gov´t, create jobs and reduce our tax-burden.

Well, in the case of Maryland, I´d hate to see all the Civil War battlefields vanish, as well as Johns Hopkins, Annapolis, and a particularly good Chinese restaurant in Frederick. I don´t ski, but I´d miss Vermont cheeses and the monster in Lake Champlain, as well as Champlain chocolates. Awfully pretty place, Vermont. And it was solidly Republican before the hippies decided to go back to the land.

The Senate voted down an amendment to the upper chamber´s immigration bill proposed by Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) that would require a full biometric visa tracking system placed at every land, sea, and air port of entry in the United States before legalized immigrants could receive green cards. The measure, which was also called for by the 9/11 Commission in the wake of the 2001 terrorist attacks, would establish a biometric exit-entry system. The immigration reform bill drawn up by the Senate Gang of 8 would boost the economy and lower the deficit, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office says in a report out today. The newly released, and highly anticipated, report from the government’s nonpartisan bookkeeper comes as the Senate debates the bipartisan immigration legislation offered by the Gang of 8 and the House moves forward on a more piecemeal approach. The report, “The Economic Impact of S. 744, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act,” says overall the legislation

NEW YORK — The New York Police Department´s widespread spying programs directed at Muslims have undermined free worship by innocent people and should be declared unconstitutional, religious leaders and civil rights advocates said Tuesday after the filing of a federal lawsuit. "Our mosque should be an open, religious and spiritual sanctuary, but NYPD spying has turned it into a place of suspicion and censorship," Hamid Hassan Raza, an imam named as a plaintiff, told a rally outside police headquarters shortly after the suit was filed in federal court in Brooklyn.

Mixed-race people are more likely to be considered black by conservatives, who are subconsciously attempting to “justify racial divisions,” said the authors of a new government-funded study. The report, originally released earlier this month, has begun attracting criticism from those who see political bias in the results. The study was conducted by graduate students and faculty in the psychology department of New York University. Researchers asked participants to look at pictures of mixed-race people and say whether they

The Clintons are getting the old band back together again for one last geriatric tour. Hillary 2016. Because 22 years of Clintons dominating the Beltway isn’t enough. Her campaign slogan: “Vote for me. I am a woman. What difference does it make?” The Draft Hillary movement is really taking off. There hasn’t been this much excitement behind a Draft Hillary movement since, well, the last time there was a Draft Hillary movement. Remember that? Back in 2008? When she was the “inevitable nominee?” She was the “most electable” Democrat running? She was the only one who

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
