| Thousands of passengers erupted into cheers Thursday night as the crippled triumph finally pulled up to the dock. As they stepped onto dry land, and into the arms of their loved ones some couldn´t contain their excitement. Carnival then chartered a caravan of buses to transport folks out of Mobile, Ala. To add insult to injury, at least one of those buses became stranded on the way to New Orleans, reports CBS News correspondent Anna Werner. The nightmare started Sunday, when an engine fire knocked out power.

When you are in the project business, you find a small percentage of projects just seem cursed. The cruise qualifies, but hasn´t gone paranormal yet. That won´t happen until one of the buses is hijacked by a terrorist or struck by lightning in a freak thunderstorm.

My heart goes out to these people after what they´ve been through. We had the bus ride from Hell going to DC for a Tea Party gathering 9/11 (I think) Out of 55 hours, we were off the bus for 6 of them. Bus got some bad diesel on the way to DC from SW FL and it never got fixed.

Did Carnival ever explain why they spurned the offer of 6000 hotel rooms only a few blocks from the terminal? I heard something abut the airport being inadequate for charter flights.
Excuse me? There are two 10,000-foot runways with precision approaches at Mobile Downtown Airport, a whole mile and a half from where the ship docked, and Mobile Regional with full commercial airline service, 20 minutes west. Carnival still lying to their unfortunate customers. Are they gullible enough to risk that bunch of incompetents again?

MOORE, Okla. Authorities have clarified and significantly downgraded the number of homes damaged or destroyed in this week´s tornado in an Oklahoma City suburb. Oklahoma City Police Department spokesman Dexter Nelson said Thursday that the most recent count indicates that 1,200 homes in the city and the suburb of Moore were affected by Monday´s storm. The mayor of Oklahoma City announced at a news conference Wednesday that as many as 13,000 homes had been destroyed or damaged. There was no immediate explanation for the differing estimates.

(ORLANDO, Fla.) — A Chechen immigrant shot to death in central Florida after an altercation with an FBI agent had several ties to that of one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects who authorities were questioning him about at the time.(Snip)Three law enforcement officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Todashev had lunged at the FBI agent with a knife. Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
