bamster and the other leftist gun grabbing hypocrites should try leadership by example. Try walking in our shoes...disarm your security detail and dismiss them (no excuses about being more important than me and the other citizens of the US, remember:we pay your salary). Do leadership by walk around. No security detail, no undercover LEOs, just you and your fellow citizens chatting and meeting each other face to face. Should there be a problem, do what you fellow citizens do...call 911 and hope for the best. Get some skin in the game, get some creds there bamster, rely on the local police for your protection as we do. Do that...without caveats, nuance, or conditions ...then maybe we might take you just a little seriously. Until then...pack sand and howl at the moon!

LaPierre is the one looking at the wrong subject. This is not about school safety. It is about human safety. Absolutely there are many people who can handle guns safely and should be able to have them any time they wish. But just as absolutely, there are some people - especially the seriously mentally ill we have seen behind a number of mass shootings - that simply do not need to have the same access to guns as the others. People fool themselves if they believe that the current regulations regarding the mentally ill and guns do the trick. And LaPierre is silly with his idea that the mentally ill should all be ´locked up´ when they haven´t committed any crimes.

Wayne LaPierre has stated a variety of solutions to reduce gun crime. However, I have never heard him say we need to lock up the mentally ill when they have not committed a crime. He has along with the NRA members advocated and worked for 20 years to pass laws to prevent guns being sold to the mentally ill. However current laws and a variety of special interests have prevented mental illness from being included as part of a firearm purchase background check. Until that is addressed I fear we will continue to see tragedies in our streets.
Universal background checks are not universal if all information and all people are not included.

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate."
