| After four years of Barack Obama´s diplomatic ´leadership´ and billions of dollars in attempted friendship aid, a new public opinion poll reveals that 92% of Pakistanis now disapprove of the United States. [Snip] Only four Pakistanis out of 100 approve of the United States, President Obama and his policies. They, however, seem to keep kind of quiet about their views in that rowdy land. That´s the lowest favorable rating Pakistan´s citizens have ever given their ostensible North American ally.

FTA To be fair, during the 2007-08 campaign for the Democratic nomination, then former state senator Obama did warn everyone listening to party debates that he would bomb even Pakistan if it did not fully cooperate in a campaign against terrorists.
This is one area where President Obama has done things right. If Pocky stanis dislike USA, then USA must be doing something good.

Like some pathetic child who thinks can buy friendship, except we´re doing it with billions of our dollars, and the result is they still hate us, but want more money. This is working out well.

I disagree #2. First, it still remains questionable how much benefit the kills will have in the long term. We are eliminating key sources of intelligence, radicalizing the Pakistan population, and giving Obama leeway to claim he has eliminated terrorism. Diplomatic engagement was possible - thousands of Pakistanis have been killed by Islamists, they need economic help we could have facilitated, etc.. The sheer number of nukes there, its geographic location, and the threat of Islamist takeover means we should be treating Pakistan as a high priority. In this, like everything, Obama has failed.

GWB spoke clearly to Pakistan, “We will draw no distinction between terrorists and those who harbor them.”
BHO spoke clearly to Pakistan, “I’ll give you a check and put a one on it, and you can fill in as many zero’s as you choose.”

It´s great, isn´t it, to see Barack Obama, the ex-state senator, getting along so well with Vladimir Putin, the former Russian KGB chief? Things must be hunky-dory between the world´s top two nuclear powers, just as Obama promised during his secret whispers in Seoul last year. Why wouldn´t the two be smiling for the cameras? The obedient media is serving up the official Pablum it’s fed. [Snip] And Michelle Obama is touristing in Dublin with her daughters. Never mind sequester, all three get suites with Mrs. Obama´s costing American taxpayers $3,300 per night.

Hi, everybody. This Sunday is Father’s Day, and so I wanted to take a moment to talk about the most important job many of us will ever have — and that’s being a dad. Today we’re blessed to live in a world where technology allows us to connect instantly with just about anyone on the planet. But no matter how advanced we get, there will never be a substitute for the love and support and, most importantly, the presence of a parent in a child’s life. And in many ways, that’s uniquely true for fathers.

Sen. Lamar Alexander gives the Republican Party Weekly Remarks I’m United States Senator Lamar Alexander. This is the season for high school graduations. And more than two million of those graduating are going to college. Both Republicans and Democrats agree that college is the surest ticket to the middle class and we want to help by making it simpler and smarter to get a student loan. [Snip] But we have a major disagreement about who should be in charge of our 100,000 public schools that educate 50 million American children. To put it simply, Democrats want a national school board; Republicans favor local control.

An amazing scene in Boston yesterday. Barack Obama returned to the city of one of his biggest triumphs (his 2004 Democrat convention speech) and one of his worst political spankings (the 2010 repudiation by Massachusetts Senate voters of his candidate). Those were tough days for the ex-state legislator, you may recall. Virginia voters had just rejected Obama´s choice for governor. New Jersey voters had just rejected Obama´s choice for governor. [Snip] And now here’s Obama trying to salvage another race with hypocrisy.

Once upon a time Barack Obama was known as a good speech-giver. That´s how he debuted in 2004 and why he almost always relies on a teleprompter; so he can concentrate on delivery, not content. Does he even know how often rote he sounds? Watch him on these day-trip photo ops. He´s a tired actor in a long-running Broadway play, reciting the same lines over and over with less and less conviction. For the summit with China´s new president, America´s first lady didn´t bother to go. [Snip] Turns out, Obama might sound good. But he´s actually an awful communicator.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Is Marco Rubio, R-Fla., getting played by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.? During his interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl this morning, Rubio didn’t even seem to understand what that meant. “Are you being played by the Democrats?” asked Karl. “Is Chuck Schumer playing you?” “I don’t — I quite frankly, I don’t even know what that means,” Rubio replied. “Is he using you?” Karl continued. “Is he using you to try to accomplish something that the Democrats want and is not — not a conservative bill?” Rubio responded that immigration reform was a bi-partisan issue that “all Americans

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
