Kentucky Democrats Fear
Judd May Drag Down Ticket

Roll Call, by Joshua Miller

Original Article

Posted By:MissMolly, 2/14/2013 5:47:43 AM

Actress Ashley Judd’s movement toward a Senate run against Minority Leader Mitch McConnell makes Democrats in Washington, D.C., happy. But back in Kentucky, for many Bluegrass State Democrats, a potential Judd run brings a different feeling: heartburn. “If she runs, I think that it would be a catastrophe for a lot of downballot races in Kentucky,” said Jimmy Cauley, a longtime Kentucky Democratic strategist who doesn’t believe Judd can win a general election. Among Democratic state legislators, he said, “there is significant worry about Ashley being on the ballot.”

Run, Ashley, run! We love it when radical leftists from Hollywood think they can be successful in red conservative states. We love it when these futile runs destroy the evil Democrat party down-ballot. Go girl, go!

Does she actually live in Kentucky? Is she registered to vote there?

Like my mother and other family members back in Ky, it doesn´t matter whose name is on the ticket. They´ll walk in, pull the democrat lever and walk out.

Remember when people started out in politics by running for local offices and then worked their way to DC?

#4, that doesn´t apply to special liberal people.

Liberals don´t need experience. Only Conservatives do.

Remember the media spin on BO and Palin. Meanwhile Palin was Gov and BO a Senator but absent most of the time, they reported that Palin didn´t have experience and repeated it over and over and over and over.

No way McConnell is going to lose unless there´s a revolt from the right against him.

Of the three Judds, Ashley is the prettiest. But of them its hard to tell which is lower; their class or their morals.

This woman is straight-up crazy. The Internet is full of stories of how her insanity has caused her to behave in bizarre ways.

I really hope she runs.

#5 I remember well how Republicans excoriated Sarah Palin. Her resume was far superior to BO´s. Instead it was ´ick, her hair!´ and ´yuk, her voice!´ When she stepped down as governor to save her state million$ of dollar$ in all those frivolous lawsuits, she was branded a quitter. I´m still bitter over her treatment by my side of the aisle.

Ashley has a reputation for arrogance. She should fit right in with the other Washington politicians. Not that I think she´ll get elected but then I never thought OB would either.

“Ashley Judd is very bright young lady. Lots of talent,” said Democratic state Sen. Dennis Parrett, who represents a conservative district. He paused for a long time. “But I’m not sure that she needs to run for U.S. senator.”

Translation: Carpetbagging opportunist celeb light on real-world experience wants to capitalize on her fame so she can be taken seriously.

I thought it was hilarious when Sen. Rand Paul said Judd should run - in Scotland, since she spends half the year there.

In the wee hours of the morning of January 27, 2013, a Wikipedia editor named “Qworty” made a series of 14 separate edits to the Wikipedia page for the late writer Barry Hannah, a well-regarded Southern writer with a taste for the Gothic and absurd. Qworty cut paragraphs that included quotes from Hannah’s work. He removed 20 links to interviews, obituaries and reminiscences concerning Hannah. He cut out a list of literary prizes Hannah had won. Two edits stand out. Qworty excised the phrase “and was regarded as a good mentor” from a sentence that started:

Zogby: Scandals cost Obama liberals,

Pollster John Zogby reports in our weekly White House report card that President Obama´s scandal-filled disaster week has cost him his majority support and sapped enthusiasm for his second term. "As Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth might have said, this was ´weekus horribilis´ for President Obama. Three fires in the form of three scandals to put out in one week. Are locusts next? While Obama has tried to get ahead of each -- Benghazi, the Associated Press, and the IRS vs. the Tea Party -- the time to get ahead of these things is, well, ahead of them.

Prompted by Peggy Noonan´s claim in The Wall Street Journal that "we are in the midst of the worst Washington scandal since Watergate," Andrew Sullivan steps forward to defend Pres. Obama´s honor. Has he knowingly sent his cabinet out to tell lies about his sex life? Has he sat by idly as an American city was destroyed by a hurricane?

Security along the U.S. border with Mexico is perhaps the key factor in the debate over comprehensive immigration reform. Those who believe the border is mostly secure already are more inclined to support the plan of the bipartisan Gang of Eight in the Senate -- legalization first, followed by enhanced security. Those who believe the border is still far from secure are more likely to oppose the Gang of Eight´s approach, insisting that heightened security measures be in place before the nation´s estimated 11 million illegal immigrants are legalized. Obama’s Defenders: He’s Not Corrupt,

There was a running joke in the fall of 2008 that John McCain should simply re-air Hillary Clinton’s “3 a.m. phone call” ad, which highlighted Barack Obama’s lack of experience and meager knowledge of world affairs, and just tack on “I’m John McCain, and I approve this message” at the end of the ad. The point was that thanks to the bitter primary battle between the Clintons and Obama, Democrats had already developed the most effective lines of attack against Obama, and Republicans needed only to nod their heads in agreement. Something similar is taking place

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
