Deputies did not intentionally burn down the Southern California mountain cabin where fugitive Christopher Dorner apparently made his deadly last stand Tuesday, the San Bernardino County sheriff said Wednesday. "We did not intentionally burn down that cabin to get Mr. Dorner out," Sheriff John McMahon said at an afternoon news conference. He said deputies initially fired conventional "cold" tear gas into the cabin in Seven Oaks, near Big Bear Lake, then switched to "pyrotechnic-type" rounds" known as "burners." Authorities have strong evidence that the man deputies tracked to the

Words like, "Burn down the [M F´er]" are heard several times on the police scanner. The place caught fire instantly when they used the "burners". If he had hundreds or thousands of pounds of ammo, then we might believe this immediate fire was possible. Sorry folks, they are lying.
Dormer was evil, but the cops used the Waco, Texas solution, and that is scary.
"Authorities have strong evidence that the man deputies tracked to the vacation cabin looked and behaved like Dorner."
So much for being sure of one´s target... what will they say if it were determined that this WASN´T Dorner? I realize that in all likelihood it is Dorner, but for crying out loud, what a thing to say! That the guy in the cabin "looked and behaved" like him, so what the heck, ´Break out the MP5, boys! Send in the tear gas!´ Sheesh.
I can usually tell when the "Authorities" are not telling the truth, the whole truth. they are not telling the whole truth on this one, at all! Why? A: They are terribly afraid of this case. The "Dorner Monster" scared them, embarrassed the administration in it´s try for destruction of individual 2nd amendment rights, and the LA cops behavior of shooting the two news paper delivery women was just an outrage of amateurish skittishness. In addition, the cops had a direct hand in creating Dorner´s Rampage! Another similar example is the East Hollywood shootout, LA cops left a whole lot unexplained after that disaster which they have not answered for to this very day. This one is going to be swept quickly under the rug as well. Watch how little we hear of it from now on. Case closed- they hope.
Careful #1, not Waco, Texas solution but Reno/Clinton Show. Waco, Texas had nothing to do with the burning down of the Davidian Branch. It is all on Janet Reno and Bill Clinton. And yeah...when you announce over the radio "Burn the M*&&^& F*&*&^& down" and then lob in incendiary devices...yeah that was your intent. Any officer trained in SWAT or Warrant Division knows when you toss those things, there is a better than 50/50 chance something is going up in flames due to environment.
Good gosh look at the innocent people these cops fired on by mistake. Three other people were almost killed by police. They never intended to take him alive. I´m as much a law and order supporter as most conservatives, but there are plenty of dirty cops and Police Departments in Southern California are full of them.
Between the last election and now the Dorner apologist and conspiracy wackos I have become truly disgusted with people. #2 I LIVE in Fullerton, and I trust them more than the whack jobs in the White House.

Here is a link to LAPD documents re Dormers initial BOR and his subsequent legal efforts to have his dismissal from LAPD reversed. Lots of interesting tidbits. http://themadmanchronicles.com/2013/02/08/christopher-dorners-long-history-of-complaints-against-the-lapd-public-documents-released/
The spin from the police spokespeople is distressing. Everyone remember what the authorities said LIVE on TV last Thursday? I do. The reporters asked if the Big Bear ski area would be SAFE for the weekend. They had received a good storm and ski resort surely needed the business. Well, he said ALL areas around the ski runs were perfectly safe. How could he say that. Public safety first my foot. Everyone is fortunate Dorner didn´t decide to go "hunting" skiers. How can they say there was no "intent" when we heard the scanner?
Here is an interesting article on the home - considerably larger than a "cabin" - where Dorner holed up. It was built by Bill Glass´s father after he returned from WWI, it was their family home, and he was raised in it. It would have been a lovely place for a boy to grow up.
The difference between the military in a war and the police enforcing the laws is that the military immediately kills their opponents, no discussion. Theoretically, police arrest people, gather facts and turn this over to prosecutors to have courts decide guilt or innocence and punishment, if warranted.
As the police have more and more SWAT teams, they are steadily crossing into military behavior. This needs to be strenuously resisted. Dorner should have been waited out, or shot if he continued to shoot at them, but the concept of the police deciding on summary execution in cold blood should be chilling to all of us. They knew the incendiary gas rounds were very likely to burn down the building.
Sears stock plummeted Wednesday as news came out that Edward Lampert, its stubborn billionaire chairman and CEO, had to surrender majority control of the 120-year-old big box retailer when investors in Lampert’s hedge fund pulled money out. With no end in sight for Lampert’s quixotic turnaround efforts, it’s time to question whether there’s any way to save Sears as long as he remains in charge. (Snip) Lampert began at Sears with the ill-fated $12 billion merger with Kmart in 2005. Sales have declined for 27 straight quarters and the company’s stock is down over 70% from its high in 2007.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has no system in place to prevent fraud when individuals apply for tax credits under Obamacare, according to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA). The IG said in an audit released Tuesday that the IRS has no plan to manage, monitor, or mitigate fraud risk when processing premium tax credits available under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). “The ACA Program has not yet completed a fraud mitigation strategy,” the audit found. “It is important for the IRS to thoroughly consider fraud threats and risks that could impact new ACA systems.” Politico reports: The
Around 100,000 Americans successfully signed up for health insurance in November through the troubled federal online marketplace, HealthCare.gov, a person familiar with the preliminary data confirmed to ABC News. The figure reflects a surge in enrollment as software and hardware fixes to the site were made over the course of the month. In October, only 26,000 people could successfully enroll in Obamacare plans, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. "We´ve been working 24/7 to make improvements, and more consumers are successfully shopping online and enrolling in a health plan each week," Health and Human Services Secretary
NEW HAVEN >> The jail cell death last weekend of Yale University professor Samuel See, known as a brilliant writer and rising star in academia, has shaken up the tight-knit college community. Now adding to the mystery of his unexpected death are apparent connections between the online profiles of See and several escort service websites that include a cache of sexually explicit photos. At least four websites advertising male escort services included a phone number connected to See. The website Ryan Cochran Escort Services includes the same phone number listed on an order of protection filed against See in September.
For many Ann Arborites, Thanksgiving is a day devoted to giving thanks, spending time with family, eating turkey and watching the Detroit Lions. This year, retail giants want that to change. (Snip) The early openings change the game for retail giants looking to boost profits through aggressive holiday sales. It also means millions of retail employees in the U.S. are working on the holiday, and it poses the question to consumers: Is a bargain on a 70-inch television or an Apple iPad worth ditching Thanksgiving dinner? “You couldn’t pay me to stand in a line in the cold on Thanksgiving
Macy´s Inc and a slew of other U.S. retailers are opening on Thanksgiving for the first time ever in a bare-knuckled brawl for a bigger slice of overall holiday sales. But it might not be so easy to lure most Americans from their turkey and football - particularly if the weather is foul. Department store rivals Kohl´s Corp and J.C. Penney Co Inc led a string of Thanksgiving opening announcements after Macy´s said it would open its U.S. stores on the popular holiday, ending a 155-year tradition. Sales trends, survey results and an online "Save Thanksgiving" backlash suggest that shoppers
The captain of a Greenpeace ship released on bail after two months of detention in a Russian prison following an Arctic protest said he and his fellow activists remain in shock at their treatment. American Peter Willcox, who was also in charge of Greenpeace’s Rainbow Warrior when it was sunk in Auckland in 1985 by a bomb planted by the French intelligence service, said the organization again found itself in the crosshairs of a government bent on throttling the environmental group. “There is a similarity between the two cases,” with both the French and Russian governments targeting Greenpeace to prevent
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
President Obama will cast growing income inequality and a decline in economic mobility as a “fundamental threat to the American dream” during a speech Wednesday in Washington. The speech will serve as an early preview for next year’s State of the Union address, according to a White House official, who said Obama would focus much of his energy over the next three years on the issue. “The decisions we make over the next few years will determine whether or not our children will grow up in an America where, if you work hard, you can get ahead,” the official said.
Good stuff from Jonathan Turley at today’s House hearing on executive power, although I regret that I couldn’t find a more user-friendly format for you to watch. There’s no compilation clip; you’ll have to make do with the C-SPAN embed by fast-forwarding to the time cues I give you and being patient while the vid buffers (and buffers, and buffers).(Snip)That brings us to point two: Even if Congress can’t stop Obama, the courts can. The problem there, though, says Turley, is that O and the DOJ have argued successfully in many cases that no one has standing to sue him
A stunning new study unveiled on Fox News´ Hannity finds that President Barack Obama’s White House calendar records just one face-to-face meeting between Obama and his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the more than three-and-a-half years leading up to the disastrous Obamacare launch. The startling statistic comes from a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) analysis of Obama’s own official White House calendar, as well as the Politico presidential calendar, and raises new questions about Obama’s executive leadership and management throughout the implementation of his singular legislative achievement. More alarming still, the president’s schedule lists 277 private
[Video] President Obama on Wednesday declared that addressing income inequality would be the focus of “all” of the White House’s efforts “for the rest of my presidency.” In a sweeping address that touched on raising the minimum wage, investing in infrastructure and ending tax breaks for the wealthy, Obama warned that the American economy has become “profoundly unequal,” declaring economic mobility the “challenge of our time.” “The combined trends of increasing inequality and decreasing mobility pose a fundamental threat to the American dream, our way of life, and what we stand for around the globe,” he said in an hour-long
Just over two weeks ago, MSNBC host Martin Bashir delivered a harsh piece of commentary that culminated in the suggestion that someone should “s-h-i-t” in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin‘s (R-AK) mouth. Bashir offered an abject apology on his next broadcast, but a chorus of critics continued to demand action against the host. After a reported “vacation” for the host earlier this week, Bashir announced, Wednesday afternoon, that MSNBC and Martin Bashir are parting ways. Here’s the statement from Martin Bashir, via email: After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday. Upon
